- One academic and one professional reference is required (For Master of Arts (Communication), Master of Public Relations)
- If the applicant has been out of school for five years or more, two professional references are required
- If a student has not been enrolled in a post-secondary institution for at least three years, the applicant may substitute the academic letter of recommendation with a second professional letter of recommendation. Also, if a student has not been engaged in relevant employment, but has been recently attending a post-secondary institution, the applicant can submit a second academic letter of recommendation in lieu of a professional letter of recommendation

- Applicants must submit an 800-word narrative essay describing their profile, research interests and aspirations for a career in the field of Public Relations (For Master of Arts (Communication))

- Related work and volunteer experiences.
- Awards, accomplishments, interests and activities.
- Submit an official transcript (in the university’s sealed envelope) from each post-secondary institution attended.

- Submit a signed statement of intent, outlining:
- Reasons for applying to the graduate program.
- Expectations of the program and your career goals.
