History
For a long time during the early years of the University’s establishment, Queens Canada had no home and kept displacing for the longest time after finally settling in Summerhill which continues to stand at the heart of the University’s main campus. Another major challenge faced by the university was financial support after the government withdrew its funding. Some dedicated officials helped the college to stay afloat. Soon Queens University became the first university to admit women to classes in 1869 and witnessed an increase in the enrollment from 15 students to more than 100. By the 1970s the number of full-time students at the university reached 10,000. Under the leadership of multiple principals, the university has always grown significantly to foster growth, development, and leadership.
