- A Second Class Honours Grade I in a primary honours degree (NFQ, Level 8) in Computer Science or a closely related degree in which at least 50% of the credits must be in the area of Computer Science and IT and must include the following subjects: object-oriented programming and problem solving, data structures, operating systems, computer networks, relational databases and software engineering OR,
- A First Class Honours in a Higher Diploma (NFQ, Level 8) conversion course, such as the Higher Diploma in Applied Computing Technology at UCC; such conversion course applicants must have completed programming modules to the value of at least 15 ECTS credits and have achieved a First Class Honours standard in those programming modules
- If applicants are required to present an English language proficiency test, they must provide a certificate that meets the entry requirements at the time of submission for their application to be considered. Applications without a valid English language certificate will be automatically rejected.
- India-specific entry requirements:
- Applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, or a professional field
- Grade I equivalency:
- Where the first division is awarded at 60%, a grade of 66-74% is equivalent to a 2H1
- Where the first division is awarded at 65%, a grade of 70-79% is equivalent to a 2H1
- Minimum CGPA of 7.5 on a 10-point scale or Minimum CGPA of 3.2 on a 4-point scale
- Indian applicants will normally be required to achieve a first-class/first division mark in their undergraduate programme at a good institution of higher education in India. At the discretion of academic departments, students with degrees awarded by top universities such as the University of Mumbai, the University of Delhi, the University of Calcutta, and the University of Pune may be accepted with high second-class/high second division marks
