University College Cork Admissions 2025: Application Deadline, Requirements & Costs

Below are the requirements for the University of College Cork:

Undergraduate requirements:

The University accepts particular boards such as CBSE, CISCE or State Board.

The University has divided the minimum requirements entry in 3 formants below are the following:

• Band of Competitiveness 1 programs:  Minimum average of  90+ in any recognised secondary school qualifications.

• Band of Competitiveness 2 programs:  Minimum average of  80-89% in any recognised secondary school qualifications.

• Band of Competitiveness 3 programs:  Minimum average of  75-79% in any recognised secondary school qualifications.

Maths is compulsory for specific programs with a minimum core of 85%, whereas a Lab Science is required with a minimum score of 85% in the appropriate Lab Science subject.

Graduate requirements:

Official Academic Transcripts: These are essential as they have the detailed records of your academic performance from your previous colleges/university. 

Graduation Certificate: UCC asks for a graduate certificate confirming that you have completed your previous degree program.

Photocopy of Passport: This proves the applicant's identity and citizenship. Its highly asked for international students to study in Ireland.

Official Documentation for other qualifications: If you have any non degree academic or professional capabilities, you can provide the official documentation to support your application. 

CV: Applicants must submit their CV with a summary of their work experience, qualifications and background. 

LOR’S: Some courses might ask for LORs from teachers or employees for the applicant's character and abilities. 

English requirements for international applicants:

Below are the requirements for a Master in Public health at University College Cork:

1. All applicants will be required to write 500 word SOP showcasing their suitability to undertake a Master of Public Health.

2. All candidates must possess a minimum second-class honours grade in a primary honours degree in a relevant area. OR

3.  Possess a minimum second class honours grade I in a PG in the below subject area:

Biological sciences, Medical and health sciences, Public Health, and Social Sciences.

Applicants must also meet the below English requirements:

• Applicants can give below bachelors:

• Bachelor of Arts / Science / Commerce / Professional Bachelor Degree:

  1. Where the first division is awarded at 60%, a 66-74% grade is equivalent to a 2H1. Where the first division is awarded at 65%, a grade of 70-79% is equivalent to a 2H1

  2. Minimum CGPA of 7.5 on a 10-point scale

  3. Minimum CGPA 3.2 on a 4-point scale

• Indian applicants with degrees awarded by any Indian Institute of Technology should contact the International Office regarding specific entry requirements.

• Applicants from Grandes Écoles Colleges will be considered if they are studying a cognate discipline in an ENSEA or EFREI Graduate School and are eligible to enter their programme's final year (M2)

• Indian applicants will normally be required to achieve a first-class/first-division mark in their undergraduate programme at a good institution of higher education in India. At the discretion of academic departments, students with degrees awarded by top universities, such as the University of Mumbai, University of Delhi, University of Calcutta, and the University of Pune, may be accepted with high second-class/high second-division marks.

• Consideration under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may also be given to applicants who do not meet the minimum academic entry requirements as stated above but who can demonstrate five years of relevant professional experience (in the form of a detailed job (s) specification) and an interview may also be required.
