MSc in Business Analytics - Batch of 2023

College is good, but what really matters is how you focus on market skills to land a good job.
Tips: Students should apply for jobs right from day 1 if they are coming for their Masters as the Junior position opens in late July. Focus on what is needed in the market apart from academics as you will see the difference. Try to get internships right within 6 months as it will be very helpful. Do visit scenic places in Ireland apart from the hectic schedule.
Likes (Post study jobs): Currently, the Dublin (Europe) market is very slow. I would recommend less than 3 years of experience people to rethink their decision as mostly the market is for relevant experience. And even if you don't have relevant experience or some experience, I would recommend you apply to jobs right before you start your Masters as most early applications start at the start of July in Ireland. And please network (both part-time and full-time) because that can save you in getting connections in many companies and securing a job.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Buses are always late in Dublin, and they are mostly not on time. It is horrible to travel in public transport in Dublin as a student, as we can't afford taxis as well. You can look for a bicycle as that can save most of your time or an automatic scooter which you can purchase second-hand on the Facebook marketplace.

Decent college; there are lots of opportunities available for part time jobs.
Tips: Students should try to set a budget or else you'll surely overspend it on food and entertainment. Try to find accommodation near the university which would allow you to narrow down on transportation. There are several scholarships available, the information can be found on the university's website and sometimes when you apply for the course, you receive the notification automatically which is deducted from the total tuition fees that you have to pay.
Likes (Part time work): On-campus part-time jobs are limited and involve TA/ RA/ Or Residency Assistants (only for someone staying with on-campus accommodation), etc. There are various Off-campus part-time jobs available like grocery stores, coffee shops and food chains such as McD, KFC etc.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships are generally offered to Undergrad or PhD students more than the Postgrad students. If the program one is joining doesn't have a Co-op i.e. part of the coursework is associated with an industrial project work such as a Business related course, it is difficult to get an internship

Celebrates all cultures; Amazing faculty and staffs that are always ready to help.
Tips: The culture gap is present but you should enjoy and cherish the Irish tradition. Scholarships are offered by universities and both the governments of Ireland and India. Overall, very much satisfied with the course, the country and also the university. It is a beautiful campus with an amazing atmosphere.

Roller coaster ride course
Tips: I have got to learn an in-depth understanding of machine learning and deep learning. Before joining this course I would suggest going through basic programming skills and Statistics so that it will be helpful. I didn't get any scholarship but there are scholarship schemes which you can avail of through ucd website. I am very satisfied with the university, the course and the country. Ireland is very welcoming, and so far haven't faced any issues as such.
Likes (Safety): The facilities on campus are really great. There is a 24/7 help desk where you can raise your concerns and will help you with your queries anytime. There is a 24/7 bus facility from UCD to the city. So far, I haven't faced any issues as such. You have to be careful when you are in the city because of the teenagers apart from that it is quite safe.
Dislikes (Internships): Currently the market isn't that great here. So there are very few job openings as of now. However, the college has my career website where you can see all the job openings. In my course internship wasn't mandatory, we had a project instead of an internship.

University College Dublin has excellent teaching faculty.
Tips: No cultural shift but the competition is high. Students coming here should have background knowledge of the course before entering the course since it gets easier to pick up things. The process is slow for everything. Choose college and courses based on your need and don't blindly follow anyone.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Dedicated professor for each subject. Easy to approach at any time and any day with a quick response via email as well. A good amount of projects + assignments for career building make you ready for the job market. Teachers are from all around the globe.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Good opportunity for IT. Almost every company is ready to sponsor stamp 1 and salary and roles are purely according to the market. Better to start applying for jobs once you land in Ireland as many companies are ready to wait till the course is over as the process is slow.
