About Kazan Federal (Volga) University
KFU was founded as a Russian-based public university in Kazan in 1804 as Imperial Kazan University and is an acknowledged center of academic excellence engaged in various forms of international cooperation with 300+ cooperation agreements with partners from 64 countries. Kazan Federal University is also a member of 15 International Academic Associations and one of the 18 Russian universities that were selected initially to participate in Project 5-100. History
From 1810-1820, a number of departments laid foundations for further scientific schools such as Mathematics, Clinical, Medical, etc. In the year 1850, the world famous Kazan Linguistic Medical School was founded. From 1844-1847, Leo Tolstoy studied at KFU. In 1996, the President of Russia included KFU in the Register of Cultural Heritage sites of the Russian Federation. Finally, in 2010, KFU was granted the status of a federal university by the Government of Russian Federation. In 2020, world-class research center for Liquid Hydrocarbons was established.

Both Kursk State Medical University and Kazan Federal University are well known for their MBBS programs both in terms of the education provided and its fee structure.
