History
The institute was established in 1899, the same year saw the inauguration of the Oriental Institute. In 1920, the Oriental Institute and various private educational institutes were united into State Far Eastern University. In 1930, State Far Eastern University was reformed and independent universities were established on the basis of the departments. In 1956, Far Eastern State University was restored. In 2010-2011, the University was established after a merger of 4 universities: Far Eastern National Uni, Far Eastern State Technical Uni, Pacific State Economic Uni and Ussuriysk State Pedagogical Institute. Then, in 2013, the first academic year was started at FEFU.

To apply to Far Eastern Federal University, Indian applicants can apply online by accessing the direct application link. There is no internal scholarship at FEFU, except for a sports scholarship. However, all foreign students are required to apply for a quota from the Russian government to receive free education in Russia. This quota can be obtained for students in Bachelor’s / Specialist degree. The study quota includes:
