All about Engineering from UAE

Studying in the United Arab Emirates has its benefits – warm weather, close to India and tax-free earnings and salary after graduation. According to The National, a newspaper published in UAE, people working in the technology sector in Dubai are the 3rd highest earners in the industry globally (survey July 2022). Dubai software engineers who hold a working experience of at least three years obtain 30% more salary than their counterparts in London, Berlin, Amsterdam, etc. As the country is striving to be a global capital of the digital economy, its search for talent in the technology domain promises to rise.
Due to a strong interlinking between its universities and industry, students get ample opportunities to work on real-time assignments. This secures their future by making them industry-ready before their course is complete.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is made up of seven states or emirates. The most popular graduate degree programs that international students pursue in UAE are Master of Project Management (MPM), Master of Engineering Management (MEM), Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) and Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCE) in these areas of specialization –
- Civil Engineering
- Structural Engineering
- Construction Engineering Management
- Petrochemical Engineering
1. Civil Engineering - Undergraduate program leads to the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) degree. It is a usually four-year degree program, which is fully accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
A postgraduate program leads to a Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCE) degree. The MSCE Program is also accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Through these programs, students learn engineering principles and acquire the ability to apply the knowledge to solve challenging problems. Moreover, through extensive training on various design, research and field projects students not only learn how to analyze and design civil engineering systems but also enhance their communication skills.

2. Structural Engineering - Structural Engineering and Structural Materials are considered to be continuously developing subjects. As a result, a postgraduate degree in Structural Engineering retains its importance for equipping engineers with the advanced knowledge required to effectively analyze and design sophisticated buildings and structures. The goal of the program is to provide additional knowledge in structural engineering to permit the candidate to be more effective in engineering and associated firms and organizations. This program also includes issues relating to sustainability and environment as these are the key factors that is expected to develop over the next decades. The program is suitable for students who already have a grasp of structural engineering fundamentals. They must already have knowledge of structural designs and different structural materials. This knowledge may have been acquired through an undergraduate degree in civil or mechanical engineering courses, or from professional experience in design.
3. Construction Engineering Management - The term Construction includes construction professional services, architecture, engineering, and surveying. You may be working with a consultancy, contractor, professional service provider, client, developer, public client or government department.
The program will provide you with the knowledge to effectively manage activities in construction. The program has a strong industry focus, tutorials, assignments and case studies will require you to apply knowledge in real life situation. Academic staff with industry experience and professional links bring to the classroom case studies and examples to help with a linking theory to practice.
4. Petrochemical Engineering - Project work provides an opportunity for ideas and methods integrated through lectures and tutorials to be applied to real field evaluation. The program has the principal objectives of providing specialist, high-quality learning and teaching, complemented by a range of transferable skills, employability and research awareness.
