Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery - Batch of 2026
3.9
Good learning experience but a bit expensive.
Tips: Studying here has been a good academic experience. The college is very focused on practical learning, especially in cookery but students should be ready for a busy schedule and independent work. The cultural shift was manageable, people are generally friendly and open, though adapting to the pace of life took a little time. I didn’t get a scholarship, but the college provides some financial aid options. I’m quite satisfied with the course and the teaching quality but living costs can feel high.
Likes (Part time work): There are plenty of Indian restaurants and grocery stores nearby, so it’s easy to find familiar food. Prices are reasonable and many places serve authentic Indian meals and snacks. I mostly eat out on weekends and cook simple Indian food at home during the week. Having so many options from my home country makes living here much more comfortable.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fees feel quite high compared to the facilities provided. While the course content and teachers are decent, the infrastructure and student support could be better for the amount we pay. I expected more hands on exposure and better access to industry tools considering the cost.
