What is ImmiAccount?
An ImmiAccount is an online portal where international applicants submit their student visa applications for Australia. ImmiAccount also manages different visa subclasses and maintains the citizenship status of non-immigrants. This online portal is administered under the aegis of the Department of Homeland Security, Australian Government. Apart from managing the visas and citizenship data, there are other features of the ImmiAccount as well.
Types of ImmiAccountAustralia
Ideally, there are two types of ImmiAccountAustralia. Both types create an ImmiAccount for a specific purpose. Let us understand the types and need for creating different ImmiAccounts:
- Individual ImmiAccount
An individual ImmiAccountAustralia is created for a single student applying for a student visa or extending their student visa Australia also known as Subclass 500 visa. Students applying for a full-time UG/PG course or an ELICOS course at TAFE institutions can apply for a student visa through ImmiAccount Australia. If the applicant is a minor, their guardian or a family member can file an application. Sometimes, friends can also create an ImmiAccount to help the applicant complete their application process.
- Organisation ImmiAccount
An ImmiAccount for an organisation is required by MARA (Migration Agents Registration Authority) registered agents who assist students in filing their student visa applications to study in Australia. Or those from an organisation or sponsoring company who can assist students in filing their student visa applications.
Students who are applying independently can register for an individual account on ImmiAccount. If they are applying through registered agents, they do not need to create an account.

Step 13: Add about the English proficiency test you have taken in the past 24 months and related details. Exams of IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo and PTE are widely accepted for student visa and admission purposes.
Step 14: Add immigration history, if any, leave blank if there is none to share. It can be for any country and not just for Australia in particular.
Step 15: Check and save the info, mark yes and no as per discretion on pages 24 and 25 of the ImmiAccount form. Check the student visa document checklist for Australia and upload it.
Step 16: Save the entire list of Documents Required for Australian Student Visa for Indian Students. After document uploading, proceed to the payment gateway to complete the student visa application created on ImmiAccount. A subclass 500 visa costs AUD 2,000.
