Independent and self-directed learning.
Tips: Students should come prepared for independent, self-directed learning. MQBS rewards proactive students. Attend industry events, use Career Hub, and build relationships with the faculty. I received the India Early Applicants Scholarship worth AUD20,000. I did not have to apply for it separately as it was merit based. Honesty, I was very satisfied with my experience there. The MIB course is rigorous yet applicable, and Australia as a country offers safety, multiculturalism and opportunity.
Likes (Value for money): I felt that the tuition fees are justified. The MIB programme at MQBS sits within a QS-ranked institution with a strong link to the industry. The curriculum is practically oriented, interacting real world case applications. Beyond academics, there are a multitude of clubs and programs that offer real world experience.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Australia offers structured pathways to permanent residence, but the reality for international students is increasingly challenging. The chances of getting PR without State or employer sponsorship are very low. On whether I'd like to permanently immigrate, my answer is no. It does not align with my long term goals.

Challenging but rewarding.
Tips: Students should know that adapting to this college takes, especially due to the multicultural environment and different academic styles. Initially the transaction can feel challenging because of cultural differences and learning. The experience is enriching.
Likes (Indian Food): There are many restaurants offering Indian food at a reasonable price. The taste is close to home. With great quality and variety. I enjoy both eating outside and cooking. As all ingredients are easily available in the nearest Asian shop.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Most of the companies required employees who are citizens or have PR. It's not hard to find a job but the terms and conditions of the company are quite difficult to complete. Finding a visa is possible but getting the experience and visa rules is difficult.

Good opportunities and growth.
Tips: The transition was quite smooth. Macquarie has a very inclusive and diverse environment, and professors are approachable. The teaching style is more interactive compared to India with a lot of teamwork, case studies and class discussions. The cultural shift mainly comes from learning to be more independent and proactive, but you adjust quickly because everyone supportive. I got the basic scholarship of AUD 20000. It is given to all the Indian students.
Likes (Student Life): There are lots of places to chill, study and eat. I get to meet new people every day which helps me get to know about their culture. I have joined the table tennis club, squash club and Indian Society. Lots of events are organised in the university often.
Dislikes (Value for money): The curriculum of my course is very practical as they are teaching us all the software which are used in the corporate world. Guest lecture from different big companies comes often to share their experiences and also the faculty is very supportive.

Once in a lifetime experience.
Tips: It definitely was a bit difficult initially like the way everything was electronically like assignments, lectures and so on, but I received equal help from everyone at every step. This university made sure I was aware about this country and how everything works since most of us were international students who came to Australia for the first time. I received a 10,000 scholarship and every university has some scholarships that they let u know when u receive the confirmation letter. Lack of job opportunities but this country is fabulous.
Likes (Indian Food): There are ample of Indian restaurants, cafes and various small street food corners especially in Indian community localities. They are slightly expensive if u compare them with INR but it's better than nothing. Since I love cooking, I prefer home cooked meals. Only occasionally I visit restaurants.
Dislikes (Value for money): I feel it's slightly expensive compared to other university in different cities. A degree can open doors to better jobs and a potential higher salary, the actual success in securing these opportunities might not be fully realized by the University boards, making this investment feel less certain. If the university would have provided strong career support or direct industry connections, the financial investment may feel fully justified rather than partial.

The college is easy going, helpful, and welcoming.
Tips: Transition was a bit tough at the start. There was a cultural shift as well. I also got a scholarship from the university. The university is good at welcoming international students.
Dislikes (Internships): Currently, the internships are very limited and in limited sectors, specifically, it depends from university to university. To get internships, you must focus on the WAM (Weighted Average Mark), which should be at least 70 or more to get an internship.
