The university doesn't help you land any jobs or internships.
Tips: Life isn't gonna be all rainbows and sunshine here unless you are filthy rich. If you're from a middle-class background like I am, it is super hard. Managing work, responsibilities and passing university isn't a joke. If you don't consider yourself mentally strong and challenging, don't even think of moving abroad. The job market is also pretty messed up currently due to the large number of international students who arrive here every six months. The honeymoon phase of living abroad is over. Personally, I plan to go back home after one to two more years. Making friends is also a bit difficult if you don't consider yourself social. Because you have to really get out of your comfort zone here to make friends. Scholarship-wise, you get various options, but I still don't think it's worth it. I got a 10,000 scholarship. Satisfaction-wise, I am not satisfied. I am not able to focus on studies due to other responsibilities. Please give yourself a good amount of time to think before moving abroad.
Likes (Safety): The police are super quick to respond to calls when we’re in an emergency, and the ambulance and fire force are super quick to show up too. I’ve never had a safety issue at this university, and pretty much everywhere here is safe at all times. I’ve noticed the police patrolling the city and suburbs a lot, too.
Dislikes (Internships): The university doesn't help you land any jobs or internships, and most big firms look for Australian Nationals. It's honestly really hard to land a job as an international student at this time, because the competition has become insane. People here are super talented, so it's hard.

Best faculty and wonderful experience.
Tips: As an international student at UQ, I’d say, don’t overpack. Everything you need here will be available in Brisbane, even all your favourite spices and seeds from India. Brisbane and Australia as a whole are very safe places. Don’t be afraid to explore the city, or even outside of Brisbane. As for a bit of career advice, there’s a good deal of work available on campus. I recommend getting involved with something on campus to help network. Also, look into the UQ High Achievers’ Scholarship and Employability Award. The benefits are great, and they’re both easy enough to apply for.
