University of Tasmania History
UTAS started its journey with three lecturers teaching eleven students. Interestingly, the university's establishment of the university birthed excitement amongst the people about securing a campus, hiring lecturers for the university, and preparing for the commencement of the classes in 1893. In total, there are 3 distinct campuses of UTAS in the regions of Tasmania: Hobart in the South, Launceston in the North, and Burnie in the North West.
