The Nursing at Western Sydney University was created in 2001 as the School of Nursing, Family and Community Health following the merger of the Faculty of Health at Hawkesbury, the Division of Nursing at Macarthur, and the School of Nursing and Health at Nepean. In 2009, it was named School of Nursing and Midwifery.
