Great opportunities for engineering aspirants
Tips: If you are looking to do a masters course at ontario tech, it is mostly a self-learning situation, the mechanical engineering faculty is one of the best in the region. University has one of the only wind tunnels in the nearby vicinity and many engineering projects to take up.
Likes (Public transportation): The connectivity to the university is one of the best I have seen as compared to the universities and colleges in the close vicinity. The university is a host to a major bus terminal with all the buses connecting different parts of the town coming in a frequent time intervals.
Dislikes (Internships): There are not a lot of internship opportunities you get during your time if you aren't doing research based coursework. Since in that case, you get connections and network with a lot of people working in your field. Even for the people with a co-op component the job oriented networking sessions are more or less a meet and greet rather than being an opportunity of active job applications.

- Students will acquire the knowledge and skills required to quickly advance the career in the gaming, interactive media and simulation industries, or become an entrepreneur in charge of developing and managing your own gaming/interactive media studio.
- The innovative gaming and virtual reality laboratory is equipped with state-of-the art software and equipment including motion capture facilities, an audiometric (sound) room, 3D displays, and the latest in interaction devices to allow for the development of high-quality animation, 3D models, sound recording and production, game engines, and gameplay code.
- The Game Development and Interactive Media program is designed to provide students with a wide range of game design development and interactive media expertise.
- Students are immersed in the game development process from day one and develop complete video games beginning in their first year.
- Successful students develop their knowledge and skills in a diverse team environment and learn to work effectively with programmers, artists, and designers to create innovative products that push the medium to its limits.
- Each semester, students participate in the Game Development Workshop (GDW) that integrates knowledge in all disciplines in a back-to-back semester-long team project to design/develop/extend/polish an interactive game.
- Students work in multidisciplinary teams to apply their specific discipline developing and delivering a game at the end of each year. Students gain further experiential experience through the FBIT Experiential Options available (e.g., Capstone, Internship, Venture Creation, etc.).
