University of Alberta offers fantastic teaching quality.

Tips: I didn't experience any cultural shift after coming to Canada because in this country Indian population is good. So it will be easy to cope with them. However, there was some cultural differences in terms of cooking and part time work experience. I didn't apply for any internship cause my rank was too low. University of Alberta is one of the best universities for me and I love Canada.

Likes (Indian Food): All the types of restaurants are available for you, if you want to eat non-veg or veg. Mostly non-veg restaurants are here. If you don't know cooking you can eat tiffin. Indian foods are also available in the area. But if you eat outside in restaurants or hotels it will be expensive. You can cook for yourself at home and it will be cheap. So I prefer cooking and before moving to Canada please learn cooking.

Dislikes (Internships): University of Alberta faculty members are helpful in finding internships and applying. Faculty have good knowledge about field-related internships so if you have any doubts related to the internship you can contact them and they will resolve your problem. If you want to do field related internship you can meet the faculty.

The college is very reputable and good.

Tips: The weather is the biggest challenge. You will get used to it eventually, but it could be a challenge in the initial days. However, summers are really beautiful and the best thing is that it is sunny mostly the year around. All the Indian festivals are celebrated here.

Likes (Value for money): There are a lot of oil and gas industries around. The market is tough to get a job but with networking, you can land something after your degree. The other universities that I got into were more expensive and the cost of living was way more compared to Edmonton.

Dislikes (Indian Food): Vegetarian options are limited. I used to cook for myself. There are a lot of options around the campus. Everything is within walking distance of like 15 minutes, depending on where you are on campus. There are a lot of Indian restaurants and many coffee places around.
