MSc Computer systems and Cybersecurity - Batch of 2025
4.1
Great study environment.
Tips: Have a mindset to mingle with the people over here to be active and adapt to a new country. Lots of scholarships are available but you have to search a lot to find those. For all international students during their first year of study, irrespective of their grades, they are offered a 5000 allowance for a year. I am satisfied with my course it was so advanced and lots of practical rather than theoretical.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is at the centre of the city and the public transportation is really good to use. We do have frequent buses and trams with proper scheduled times. But it's not free for students, it costs like 700 for a student after the offer. Public transportation is too good to use, and we can reach our destination on time. It was really pleasant using public transportation in Sweden.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Now the job market was not so good. So it's a bit difficult for international students to land a job. But with effort, we can truly make it. Package: 35000-40000 for freshers. There is demand for the IT roles and there are lots of companies offering sponsorship but again have to research a lot.

MSc Mobility Engineering - Batch of 2024

Study paradise but job hunting nightmare.
Tips: I would say only people who know exactly what they want to study to improve their already existing knowledge should choose Chalmers. Not all courses are intensive. The courses are intended for you to be industry ready. Only a few Master's programs have theoretically intensive courses, but they are very much needed. I definitely grew a lot as a person. I had an absolutely amazing time attending lectures, which was not always the case in India during my bachelor's. I never missed any classes, even if there was a snowstorm outside. I would recommend mostly students who have worked 1-2 years in industry and have knowledge of what they would like to learn more about. This helps them get a better understanding overall during Master's and also will be job ready at the end of 2 years. If someone has just finished a bachelor's and wants to come, then I would rather ask them to try to make as many industry connections during the 2 years as possible. It is very difficult for them to find jobs.
Likes (Indian Food): Many good Indian restaurants, and I would rather cook myself and with my friends. There are multicultural restaurants in the city of Gothenburg. But it will be expensive. It is always good to have one or two meals outside in a month, but not more than that.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I have had a great experience at the university with excellent faculty and study programs. I thoroughly enjoyed studying as someone who was really interested in Electric vehicles and how they are built. But due to the current bad situation in the job market with the automotive industry struggling to even keep their regular coffee machines, they do not want to hire fresh graduates as they think of them as a liability rather than an asset at the moment. Hopefully, it'll be better by 2027-2028. Most of the jobs offered are Test engineering jobs or verification engineering jobs. These are taken by more experienced engineers naturally. If lucky, you can get graduate engineering roles in some companies like Volvo, Sandvik, etc. But that is rare and more difficult. You could be the best of the lot, but still, they wouldn't select you, because they want to fill their diversity quotas.

MSc Product Development - Batch of 2024

Blossoming journey in this struggling world.
Tips: The market is really bad. Consider multiple things while relating to Sweden. Be clear if you are considering a Master's as a bridge to get into the Swedish market. There would be many sacrifices and you are the one doing everything. So never ever close the hope.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty are so humble and knowledgeable, with really useful experiences. You can contact them at any point in your Master's and they are more than happy to answer your queries. Teaching methodology is more interactive and assignments based rather than listening to monologues and reading repetitive questions for exams.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are very limited part time options on campus. And for every other part time you either need a driver's licence or know Swedish or both. Only possible part time jobs are food delivery and restaurant helper jobs. It's kind of impossible to find a technical part time job or anything related to your education.

MSc Mobility Engineering - Batch of 2024
4.3
Outstanding for learning future tech, industry exposure and very friendly professors.
Tips: The university is really good for learning and getting a taste of trending technology. Focus towards making connections with professors and industry people, who will help in understanding the job market after graduation. The university also has a very happening life, with student parties every month, trips to beautiful cities and a chance to see the northern light, a very sustainable approach to everything and a very friendly environment. Things can get challenging after graduation, as the college is not responsible for placing you; the student will have to make extra efforts by reaching out to recruiters on LinkedIn, attending job fairs, etc. To secure a job, most of the Swedes speak good English but learning Swedish is highly recommended to increase your chances of getting a job and better integrate with the natives.
Likes (Value for money): The teaching and the facilities in the university are excellent. They partner with the leading companies to make the projects and learning of students very industry ready. The professors are very friendly. You can also clear your doubts with them. Most of the projects are based on current and upcoming technologies, so this makes the student future ready. The campus also hosts a lot of fun events every week, including painting, dancing and personal development sessions but of course, they are paid. All departments also have their own well-equipped study rooms, party clubs and cafes, which let the student balance their academics with chill out sessions. The city is excellently planned, very clean and beautiful and it's mostly less crowded and well maintained.
Dislikes (Part time work): The number of part time jobs on campus was low at the time of my study. The Swedish language is a must to get a part time job. In winters, the weather gets very harsh with temperatures even dropping below -15 deg C, so delivery jobs are very tough. Also, during winters, the icing on the roads makes it very difficult for students working as delivery agents to commute or control their vehicles.

The university provides valuable real-world insights into building design and sustainability.
Tips: Try to understand their interest and plan for what comes after completing the course. There is plenty of competition limited job opportunity and you need to wait for a longer period and the salary is decent. Having some experience before heading for education helps them get a job early.

MSc Supply Chain Management - Batch of 2024

The university conducts fun, recreational and educational fairs, for students to socialize.
Tips: Before joining, students should be aware of the course syllabus and the prerequisites. Prepare mentally to accustom to the weather conditions. The university was fun, and it was a great decision to come here and study and explore. Every sessions were practical and engaging and the staffs were also super- friendly. The university conducts recreational fairs, educational fairs, and fun events. And the university also gives students plenty of time and breaks before their exams start. Assignments are done in groups, which allows us to interact with people from all over the world. This also exposes students to a wider range of options. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the course, country and the university.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Most of the restaurants in this town are Western style. You can find some Indian places, but the price isn't worth it. After tasting the food here, you'll probably miss what you're used to eating back home. But the restaurants are definitely a big plus. Grocery stores have everything that you need from back home.

Great research facilities, excellent faculties, and a beautiful city.
Tips: Come with an open mindset to learn the courses you want to master. Only opt if you either get a scholarship or have enough money saved to manage financially post-studies. Get some work experience in your country before thinking of a Master as it will help you understand what you wanna specialize in and it will also help you land a job easily. People thinking of opting Master's abroad paying a high tuition fee and with no experience taking up a generalised course will find it hard to land a job considering the market. Being wise is very important before making the choice of your career.
Likes (Safety): Public transportation is available round the clock. No signs of sketchy activities were observed in and around the campus area. Mugging is something that never happens in central areas. Traveling alone would not be scary for new people at any odd time.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job market is getting niche in Europe now especially in Scandinavian countries. The courses are more specific and research-oriented. Also their immigration laws and work visa regulations have become stringent to cater local workforce properly.

BSc in International Business Information Systems (International Business Information Systems, Double Degree) - Batch of 2029

A peaceful campus in small town - Great for focused students.
Tips: The transition to Germany and HFU was quite smooth for me overall. The people here are welcoming, and the campus environment is calm and focused. The life here is much more independent—you manage everything on your own, groceries, paperwork, etc. I did not avail myself of any scholarship. So be prepared to manage your expenses on your own, and do that wisely. The university and course are okay for me. The course is structured, and international exposure is valuable. But this is a small town, so if you enjoy the big-city life, that might take some adjustment. Overall it is a good stepping stone if you are clear about your goals.
Likes (Safety): As for me, I have not faced any bad experiences here regarding safety. Germany is known for its strict safety standards, and as a girl, I feel very safe here, even at nights. So if you want a late-night break or late-night library study session, you can definitely have them without any hesitations.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Living up here in Furtwangen is a massive adjustment because the town is honestly tiny. If you're craving proper food from back home, you can completely forget about finding it anywhere nearby—you literally have to make a whole trip out to bigger cities like Freiburg or Stuttgart just to hit up a decent international grocery store.
Because of that, pretty much everyone on campus defaults to cooking their own meals, which is honestly a lifesaver for your budget anyway. You can grab all your basic, everyday ingredients from the local supermarkets in town but for anything specialized, you just learn to get creative or wait until your next city trip.

stay in a small village, practice german and studies .The courses are well made
Tips: It could be a little difficult to come here for the first time, but you can always contact any and all students already studying here or me if I am still here, and I could help in any way possible. Scholarships do exist from DAAD, so they need to be applied for. I am happy with my course. Some teaching methods were different from what was in India, but I liked the labs and am satisfied with the course.
Likes (Public transportation): The connections are good. You have a bus every hour. You can buy a student ticket for 45 euros and travel everywhere with the public transport. Buses come until 12, which is good if you are working somewhere close by, as you can easily travel back after your shift.
Dislikes (Internships): This course does not have a compulsory internship, so you have to do it voluntarily. You do have a job fair every sem, and many require German, so learning German and coming would be a good choice. Any other position will also be put up on the wall, from which it can be applied.

One amazing journey that ever happened in my life.
Tips: Umm, I’d say yes, there are few cultural differences. But you’ll get adjusted to it. No scholarship. Very much satisfied with the course, university, lectures, and professors. Students across this university are also friendly. I’m happy and would give it 5/5.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): Changes are good and nice, as long as you satisfy the requirements. I’m not sure if I’ll obtain the PR or not. Too soon to comment on that. Again, how fast you get your PR or any other status depends on that local city foreign office. Overall, the process is slow but good.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Well, the city is quite small, around 12k people. The city just has buses to travel around. There are no trains and S/U-bahns. However, the buses are frequent and punctual. Affordable - when you buy the Deutschland ticket. No trains after 11 PM at night.

Parties, fest and job fair.
Tips: They should know their motive first and choose the course that is in their best interest. There are scholarship options available. I am satisfied with the course as it MET my objective. Most of the students are from other countries, so it's good to get some international exposure. The teaching and professors are high class with great knowledge. So it would be the best experience for anyone if they chose their course rightly.
Likes (Value for money): The course is totally worth the money since it has good value and content. Back in India we won't get this at this price. Since this university is affiliated with SAP, you will get to play along in the SAP software and learn from the firsthand experience from the very people who were working with SAP.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are no nearby groceries or Indian restaurants available. The nearest one is 1.5 hrs from Furtwangen. The Indian restaurants are highly priced here. It can take up to a minimum of 30 to 35 euro for one-time meals; again, it depends on the restaurant you go to. I eat outside once a week or month, as cooking is the more sustainable option for any student.

Nice university with best faculty.
Tips: Learn the German language it's very important. No part time if we don't know the basics. The university faculty members are nice and friendly. But the academics are stressful with a lot of assignments and tasks. Hardly a few subjects have a written exam but they are tough as the university expects a different style of answering and no spoon feeding is done. Just a PPT and you need to figure out your academics. There will be presentations done by students, which are also part of your exam syllabus so you need to catch up on that as well.
Likes (Safety): Even at 12 in the night, it's safe to walk. People party till 3 am in the morning and reach their accommodation safely. The citizens here respect each other. There is no need for security in the university as well as the citizens are well behaved and mind their own business.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I have still not graduated, so no idea. But few of my seniors are struggling to get post study job due to a language barrier and the job market. It's difficult to get into any kind of job and after you apply to 1000 applications only you will only be landing one.

Country side life in German university is peaceful.
Tips: Since the town is almost located in the countryside, there are many cultural differences compared to the city side. One thing is German language, we will get the opportunity to learn quickly.
I did not avail of any scholarships because I did not do any research on those things due to a lack of time management.
I am almost very satisfied with the university, course and the country.
Likes (Quality of faculty): All the faculties from the smart systems are very helpful in the entire course of study. I have no complaints when it comes to this topic. The faculties are approachable to any level to understand the topics they teach.
The unique methodology that I found interesting was the assignments given by different professors. All the assignments were unique and interesting to solve. The assignments were posted online to complete sometimes and even the questions were different for all the students given by some professors.
Dislikes (Part time work): The on campus part time jobs are not a problem for students who are interested in HiWi jobs under any professors. But the off-campus jobs are highly impossible to get in this town. You need to travel at least 30 minutes or sometimes 90 minutes (to the nearest big city) depending on the job location. But as per my experience, I suggest the students do jobs under professors.

Wonderful college with friendly professors
Tips: For me, except for the language barrier everything was nice. There was no cultural shift that I experienced because if you have a strong cultural background then you cannot be changed. There are not many scholarships available that the university provides. I'm fairly satisfied with my university.
Likes (Value for money): The tuition fee for the course offered by my university is not too high from my perspective since I'm studying in a government-aided university but the living expenses are somewhat high. The private university tuition fee is more when compared with government-aided one.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are no restaurants that offer food from our country in my residence, but we can get the ingredients and cook ourselves. If we want to have food from our country then we can visit nearby big cities which offer food from different countries.
