Master of Science in Automotive Engineering - Batch of 2025
1.8
Good in terms of its coursework and heavily supports research, but no social life.
Tips: I have changed a lot after coming here. Becoming independent, managing finance, cooking, civic sense, etc., are some of the many things that I believe I couldn't have done if I had stayed in my home country. I did get a scholarship which saved me around $18000 on tuition fees, however I didn't do any special procedure to get that so my guess is it was just based on the SOP and resume. I am satisfied in terms of the knowledge and experience I received but not satisfied with the employment situation.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty members are very knowledgeable, teaching methodology is also good, one unique thing about this department is that you get hands on experience in the labs and test facilities. But the faculty members are very busy and it's really hard to schedule time out of regular classes. Faculty members are pretty diverse in terms of nationality.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I can consider immigrating for work in this country if given a chance but I would definitely not choose South Carolina to settle because the people there are not welcoming to Asian. I could still see Confederate battle flags being waved on some private properties.

MS in Industrial Engineering - Batch of 2024

To experiencing things and learning
Tips: People here are friendly, and kind.
Having a good GPA, and connections with professors and being on top of things will help in getting scholarships and assistantships.
I am satisfied with the university and the country. The facilities at Clemson are great and the learning atmosphere is very thriving and encouraging.

Adapting and Excelling - a student journey in this university.
Tips: The transition was smooth and I did not experience any cultural shifts apart from academics. In automotive, there will be no scholarships rather they can choose mechanical course and can select automotive courses and by applying RA, GA full fee will be waived off for that particular semester.

Great University and good city to study
Tips: Since the Indian student ratio is lower, it gave a different cultural experience to live around other nationalities. But it's easy to get scholarships if you start early to talk with the professors based on the department. Usually, 90% of the tuition fee is waived. I had offers from Northeastern, UIC, ASU, IIT Chicago, and New Heaven, and I chose Clemson because master's in Industrial Engineering is ranked higher than all of the universities I mentioned, and it's easy to get Internships in Summer for this course because the state is Automative state.
Likes (Safety): Since it's a college city, in most of the areas, police patrols will be available to guide you even at night till 2.00 am. Clemson is safe because it's a student city, so literally no crime happens in Clemson. The public transportation operates till 2.00 am and it is free for students.

Student life is good. Not much difficulties for the first 2 years.
Tips: Only drawback is the lack of easily available Indian food. However there is an Indian grocery delivery service for around 20$ per month. There are not many scholarships at this college. I'm mostly satisfied with college. Life is good, as long as you find a good job by the time you graduate.
Likes (Part time work): On-campus jobs are very easy to get as food serves, waiters etc. However, to get the more highly paid positions such as Research Assistant/Teaching assistant you need a 4/4 GPA in your first 1 or 2 Semesters. You are allowed to do a maximum of 20 hours per week either way, so you should still find enough time to finish assignments for your courses. The average payout per month for a payout is around 900$w.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are a few options within the university to get research oriented jobs. But they're highly competitive. As for the off-campus jobs, they're also a bit difficult to get right now due to the market conditions. Job roles typically offered are entry-level to intermediate-level software engineering roles in Atlanta.

MS Data Science - Batch of 2025
Offered by University of Nebraska Omaha
3.3
Found the best city rather than the best college.
Tips: Omaha is the best place to live. If you get comfortable in Omaha, you don't want to move to any other state. Safe city with friendly neighbourhoods. Luckily, I got graduate assistance, so I got a fee waiver for one semester and still felt paid too much fee.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport is very convenient, and UNO students can use free public transportation and roam around the city for free. Both the Scott and Dodge campuses are in commutable distance, and there will be university buses to commute for free, or you could rent a bicycle and roam around.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fee is slightly on the higher side. You could choose far better colleges for the same fee structure. But you can get graduate assistance or part time jobs at the university and the pay will be good. But again, I felt I paid too much for the fee.
