The college is mid and the courses need to be updated.
Tips: There was a cultural shift after coming to this university. Scholarships are for residents only. So nothing really matters for international students. In terms of the course structure and professors they are friendly and communicate well enough.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus has access to modes of transportation that are public like buses trains and shuttle. Public transportation is affordable and accessible. For students it is at a discounted price. It is cost and convenient effective.
Dislikes (Value for money): Not worth it. We could've gone to another university with much better facilities, experience and education. So whoever is selecting the University of Colorado Denver. Do not assume that you got into a tier 1 university. So if you have a tier 1, then go for it.

Tips: Before joining UCD, students should know it is an urban career focused university that expects independence, proactive learning, and strong time management. I am satisfied with CU Denver my course and studying in the US as it offers practical education.
Likes (Public transportation): The UCD campus is extremely well connected to the rest of Denver. Students have easy access to RTD light rail, buses making it convenient to travel to downtown, residential areas and nearby cities and areas.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Faculty accessibility and teaching quality vary by professor. Most are approachable and use a practical, project based method but the consistency and depth can differ. The faculty is moderately diverse in nationality.

The support for internships is good, but there is definitely room for improvement in that area. This is a good school, and in this area, I think it's the best. It has been a great learning process. The campus is diverse and vibrant.
Tips: I have grown a lot as an individual and become much more self-reliant than I could have ever imagined after coming here. The people have been kind and the campus has some scenic views to enjoy as well. Tips: The culture of Colorado is extremely immersive even though it takes a while to settle in so I would recommend one to arrive on campus before the orientation so they can truly understand what is needed and what to expect. As an undergrad, your SAT scores can determine whether you get in or not but once you've arrived, you are expected to contribute to society in non-academic ways as well which makes this truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The faculty are helpful and understanding so feel free to reach out to them in case of any queries or doubts. Also, try to contribute in classes and be creative. It’s a good university but it is very difficult to find part time and internship.
Tips: You will need to hustle a lot for internships and part-time as there are many international students and foreigners and it's quite competitive. I recommend starting searching for it as soon as you come to the university and from the first day of your classes only. The country and the university are quite safe because of the continuous patrolling and security presence. There are security guards at the train station and emergency security guards on campus, which helps students feel safe and surrounded by people.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are very few part-time jobs available, and students are quite competitive. Even internships are hard to come by. If you don't get an internship, you might have to pay extra for summer classes.

Tips: I have started interacting with people from diverse backgrounds. This has made me more confident. People here enjoy privacy and usually like to be left alone. You need to maintain basic etiquette in public spaces. You need to follow rules all the time. I am getting a stipend for the role of teaching assistant. I got the role by contacting my graduate advisor. I am satisfied with the course and university because of the personalized attention that professors give me. They help you to really learn and become successful.
Likes (Indian Food): There are Mexican, Indian, Chinese, and Thai joints almost everywhere. Downtown Denver has many fast-food chains as well. I cook on weekdays. i.e outside once a week. The cost of per meal outside for one person is around $10 to $20. You also get a variety of food stores within the campus.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fees is on the higher side for international students. Each 3-credit course is around $4200. The average cost per semester is around $12000. However, students can manage the cost with part-time work and scholarships. Students have access to various facilities such as a gym, library, printing services, medical services etc.

Tips: Though the University experience is decent, getting scholarships or financial aid is a little tricky here. The first semester, especially if you do not know anyone here could be challenging to figure out things. Denver as a city is nice, and worth the living cost.
Likes (Indian Food): There are a handful of Indian restaurants and grocery stores. I prefer cooking by myself. There are also Middle Eastern places that serve good food. Konark Grocers has all Indian grocery items including vegetables, biscuits and snacks.
Dislikes (Internships): To secure an internship, one needs to actively apply from the second semester onwards. Though there are career fairs at school, the applying part is totally on the student. We have a career center that helps with resumes. Not much guidance is provided by the University.

Tips: What you should know is that the campus is very inclusive, engaging and there are resources for almost all your needs. Professors are attentive and approachable which was reassuring and classes are conducted in an interactive format. Lots of career fairs and networking sessions happen here. Tips: The university, while being top ranked isn't exactly well known and has its cons. The area of the university isn't that well suited compared to a city based university. The vibe is great but the weather isn't. There are no scholarships for MS in MIS. Overall, a good university.
Likes (Public transportation): There are buses to and from the campus all the time and also plenty of University transportation available at ease. There are Uber and Lyft application rides available at all times. Some of the colleges are off the main campus and yet there is good connectivity.
Dislikes (Student Life): It is a college town, which usually just includes the areas around the University. Not much to do except be involved in the university itself so the student life is mainly among your batchmates and events in the university. I spent most of my time with Indian students and in the Indian community.

It is a new environment, be more participative and open to new things.
Tips: Before joining the UofA, I would recommend students to understand basic things about university like programs offered, campus culture, location, rankings etc. The university does offer scholarship based on our academic scores in high school; I did receive a scholarship. It's definitely a different experience since it is a new environment in which we are learning, but it has been great so far. I did experience some cultural differences initially, but now I have settled up well. It does take some time but always be more participative and open to new things.
Likes (Indian Food): There are enough Indian restaurants around campus and in Tucson. I know two restaurants, one of them is on campus and the other is very close to the campus. The prices are quite decent, ranging from 4$-20$ approximately. There are also other cuisines available like Vietnamese cuisine, Italian cuisine etc. I personally prefer cooking myself because being an international student, cooking saves a lot of money which could be used to pay the rent or tuition fee. I make meal plans or store food to save time during the workdays.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Sponsorship is a requirement for full-time jobs but not for internships. I think due to the ongoing recession and layoff period for this year, the post study jobs opportunities are very limited and has been difficult to find, especially for international students. Many companies are not offering sponsorship, but it is expected to ease up soon depending on the job market situation. However, the university offers certain research positions too which could be considered as an alternative option.
