Tips: College is strict in academics. You should follow the rules strictly while doing your assignments and work, and if you would like to avail any scholarship, the college will help you in that. The best place to experience a different number of cultures and traditions.
Likes (Safety): We will be able to access anything through our college student card, so that's a great opportunity, we can explore many things, and we will have possible ways to improve our networking through interacting with people who come from different regions.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): My college professors are friendly and approachable anytime. We will be having a college mail ID. Using this ID, we can contact them any time if we have any issues, and mostly we will be able to sort out all the doubts in the class itself, as they explain everything in detail.

Tips: If you are going to study computing, be prepared to give up part-time work. The course is very practical and requires dedicated study hours. Don't expect easy passing like at other institutions; you need to put in the effort, prepare, and study to succeed.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The course is well-designed with many hands-on portions, sometimes a bit too much even. But it's still good value for money. The teachers are good at what they teach, but each subject has its own unique assessments and assignments that you need to pass individually.
Dislikes (Part time work): My course, M.Sc. in Computing, involved four days of on-campus lectures, numerous projects, and assignments, leaving little time for part-time work. The average hourly pay is around 13, but this varies depending on the workplace and hours worked.

Good college for people who are ready to work hard.
Tips: You might find it difficult to manage part time with studies as they have a tight schedule with assignments and exams. Weekends off can also mean spending time on submissions. Exams are taken seriously hence one would need lot of hard work. You will have study leave and some holidays to enjoy. Faculty members are highly professional and supportive. They prepare you for your career after studying. Overall, I am satisfied with my college.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty were mainly Irish. They were professional and great teachers. They were always happy to help. They were always approachable if you had a question. Most importantly, they taught you how to deal with the professional problems that you might encounter in your career.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time opportunities depends on the vacancy and your willingness to do any work. Currently the vacancies are less hence some people might find it difficult to get one. Also you might not unnecessarily get the full 20 hours to work in a week hence finding it difficult to earn for your living expenses.

It’s also essential to be prepared for cultural diversity, as the college hosts students from all over the world.
The transition to life at Griffith was overall smooth but came with an initial cultural shift. From classroom behaviour and teaching methods to social customs and communication styles, everything required a period of adjustment. However, the supportive faculty and friendly peers made the process easier. Participating in group projects, workshops, and college events helped me integrate and develop both academically and personally.
I was fortunate to receive a partial merit-based scholarship. The scholarship application was submitted during the admission process, and selection was based on academic performance and a personal statement. The allowance helped reduce tuition fees, which made studying abroad more affordable and manageable.
Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience at Griffith College, both in terms of my course and the country. The curriculum is industry-relevant, the lecturers are knowledgeable, and the campus offers modern facilities. Living in Ireland has been a rewarding experience due to its friendly people, beautiful landscapes, and safety. Griffith has not only enhanced my academic knowledge but also contributed to my personal growth and career readiness.
Likes (Indian Food): Dublin, especially around Griffith College, offers a good range of international food choices, though it may not fully match the authenticity or variety available back home. There are numerous Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, Middle Eastern, and African restaurants within a short distance of the college. These places cater well to the student population, and the food is generally flavorful and satisfying.
Typical restaurants include Indian curry houses, halal takeaway spots, Chinese and Thai noodle bars, and kebab joints. Prices are fairly reasonable for students, with meals usually costing between €8 and €15. There are also more premium restaurants if you're looking for a special treat, where prices can range from €20 to €25 per meal. In addition, fast-food chains and local cafés provide convenient options for a quick bite.
Grocery stores and Asian or ethnic supermarkets like Tesco, Lidl, Eurasia, and Asia Market offer ingredients and spices from various countries, making it easier to cook your own meals if you prefer traditional home-style food. This has been especially helpful in maintaining a sense of comfort and familiarity.
Personally, I prefer cooking at home during the week to save money and eat healthier, but I enjoy dining out on weekends or during social gatherings. The availability of ingredients and dining options allows me to maintain a balanced routine and stay connected to my culinary roots while exploring Irish and international cuisine.
Dislikes (Internships): While Griffith College provides some support in this area, there is still room for improvement in terms of guidance, structure, and opportunities. The Careers Office occasionally shares internship openings through emails and job portals, and they do conduct workshops on CV writing, interview preparation, and LinkedIn optimisation. However, the process of finding and securing internships is largely student-driven.
For international students unfamiliar with the Irish job market, this can be challenging. There is limited one-on-one mentorship or a dedicated placement program for many non-technical or niche postgraduate courses. Guidance is often general and not always tailored to individual industries or specific fields of study.
In my case, while the college shared internship resources, I had to do most of the research and networking independently to find opportunities related to my program. There are some relevant internships available, especially in business, IT, and digital marketing sectors, but students in specialised fields like pharmaceutical sciences or clinical research might struggle to find directly aligned roles unless they proactively search beyond the college's network.
That said, Ireland has a growing job market, and with persistence, it’s possible to find meaningful work experience. Griffith does try to support students, but could strengthen its connections with industry partners and offer more structured internship pathways. This would greatly enhance the practical learning experience and better align with the academic programs offered.

Most of the classes use real-time examples which give exposure to the current market and industry-level experience. You get lectures from different nationalities and countries. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with my college, which offers great opportunities to explore.

Tips: There's not much of a cultural shift here. You'll find it very similar to your home country. I got 1,000 euros of scholarship money. As a full-time Master's student, I need to pay attention in class and do well academically. I also make sure that I'm meeting the attendance requirements, which are very important. Because of all of this, I'll probably be at college most days of the week. Fortunately, there are a lot of fun events to attend on campus, like movie parties and Halloween celebrations. There is also a student union that will help us to adjust. I'm completely satisfied with the country more than my college, as it feels like home and provides a lot of comfort and support.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation here is truly great. There's a bus every minute, and a train every ten minutes, which allows you to travel anywhere around the city. There's the Luas and the busses. Travel will run you about one Euro per hour, which is affordable and convenient.

Tips: I received a scholarship for 1500 euros, which is very common. Most students receive scholarships of 1000 to 1500 euros. I think it’s completely justified, the amount we are paying is affordable if we compare it to other countries, and the academics and studies are the best. Every lecture is very supportive and the teachers will help with all academic needs. I am very happy with my choice of courses, which offer a plethora of opportunities. Naturally, there will be some culture shock, but for us, it's exciting to try something new.
Dislikes (Student Life): I spend most of my free time with my friends in our weekly classes at Griffith College. Everyone else is busy with part-time jobs or other stuff. So if we get some time off, we all meet up at college. There are always lots of things happening at college, often organized by Griffith's Student Union.

My day is usually spent with a combination of classes, self-study, and extracurricular activities. I enjoy campus events, such as cultural fests, as well as seminars. There are a variety of clubs here, such as debate, sports, etc. I only participate occasionally, though, as I have to balance academic activities with my interests. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the university, course, and country.
Likes (Indian Food): I prefer to cook my own meals. However, sometimes eating out is okay, although otherwise it is hard for students from outside. Some restaurants give offers for students. Indian restaurants tend to be located mainly in the city center, and, according to prices, it's a bit difficult for students there.

Tips: College is good for academic and job opportunities, but adjusting can be tough. The culture, teaching style, and lifestyle are different, and groceries are expensive, making it tough for international students. There are good opportunities for part-time work, though. Some aspects, such as meeting new friends from diverse backgrounds, have been quite enjoyable. Yet, other aspects, like having to attend classes online and in person in the afternoon, have been stressful and boring. Also, I don't like that some days I have to go to college for just two hours. Nonetheless, my favorite parts of being at this college are the freedom and the fun moments I have with my friends. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): I would love to settle here because there is a work-life balance in this country. They have good job prospects and quality of life compared to other places. Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is really good in Dublin, especially around the city centers. They have good connections to all of the colleges, and each college has its own bus stop and Luas stop. Colleges provide information to help students with public transportation, such as route planning and how to apply for a Leap Card.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): As of now, there's very little scope for settlement options, because the job market isn't good at all. Even if we get a job, the companies don't sponsor the visa. Many jobs are removed from the critical skills list, which makes it really tough to get stamp 1.

Tips: In my opinion, before joining any college, students should learn about the school's background, the courses it offers, the course modules and the facilities. They should also check out the campus, the sports activities and events it offers, and any other activities available. Of course, you should also find out how much the courses you're interested in cost. The tuition is valid for this course because my course is Big Data Management and Analytics, so it's a very difficult course, and Griffith College provides this course. Euros will be converted to Indian rupees, which is big money from the India side, but it feels nominal for international students.
Likes (Indian Food): There are so many options for Indian cuisine in Dublin. There are many Indian restaurants, street food vendors, and Indian grocery stores. You can find just about any kind of vegetable, street food, dairy product, and other kitchen ingredients you might want. Best of all, many of these options are affordable. I really love all the food options I have here in Dublin.

Tips: All incoming AUT students need to be aware that the workload for the courses there is substantial. It's not going to be a cakewalk, so to speak. There will be a lot of pressure to perform. There's also the problem of keeping both studies and any part-time work they might be doing in order. I think it's possible to handle both. I was pretty glad I picked AUT.

Tips: We should know fluent English in the aspect of speaking, and also when and where to answer. There will also be a major impact on our lifestyles. I have received an accommodation scholarship for the student accommodation, which I applied for through the university website. New Zealand allows students to settle here after they have completed their course. They allow students to stay there for post-study visas up to three years after completing the course. If you can find a job in your field of study, that is also on the greenlist, then you are eligible for permanent residency. Overall, I am very satisfied with the university and with everything I have chosen so far, although it will also depend on the individual and on their chosen course of study.
Dislikes (Part time work): On-campus part-time jobs are a bit hard to get into, as there will be heaps of applications, however, off-campus jobs are comparatively easy depending on experience and connection. Most of the part-time jobs can be easily manageable with the academics, as the shift will be with our preference.

Tips: The transition was smooth since New Zealand is an English-speaking country. The people here are friendly and diverse, which made setting in easier. Unfortunately, I could not avail any scholarships as I was unaware of the opportunities available. To students seeking scholarships, I highly recommend checking the university website regularly and there is a deadline. You can also directly contact the scholarship office via email for guidance. Throughout my journey, I have taken on multiple roles, including Student Ambassador, RUOK Advisory as a part-time job, Student Editor, Peer-Reviewer, Volunteer and Entrepreneur. The university is highly supportive of student's needs, and I encourage future students to explore and utilize all available support systems to enhance their experience. Also, before choosing a country to study in, make sure to research the job market. Opportunities can fluctuate, and being informed about employment trends will help make a more strategic decision about the future. Overall, I am very satisfied with my university, course, and life in New Zealand, as I have gained valuable skills and grown both personally and professionally.
Likes (Value for money): The tuition fees are high but the facilities provided are really good. The classrooms, access to libraries, the latest study materials, practical approach to learning, some papers have exams though, and the student services and support system available make the expenditure worth it.
Dislikes (Internships): While there's a lot of guidance available for finding or applying to internships, getting one has been increasingly difficult due to rising competition. Platforms like Summer of Teach provide a great opportunity for paid internships in New Zealand. Internships are available in the related fields of study. Sometimes students must move to a different city within New Zealand to complete the internship.

Tips: There are scholarships that you can avail of at any point of time during your course. There is a considerable number of Indian and Indian food available, so not much of a cultural shift. There is a large number of international students including Chinese and Indians. You have to study yourself and lecturers will only teach assuming you have prior knowledge of the subject. You have to do your homework really well. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my course, university and the country.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): The chances of permanent settlement are really easy. You just have to follow the general immigration path. Given a chance, I might like to permanently immigrate for its peaceful environment and natural beauty. You need to have good references and a network here to land a job as the job market is tight but once you land the first job things get easier.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Transportation is well connected with regular buses at small intervals but the cost of transportation is too high even with student discounts. However, you get a travel pass limit of 50 dollars per week. As an international student that cost seems too high.

Excellent faculty and an amazing university experience.
Tips: The university experience is a lot different from what I had in India. The assignments are very practical, and there is help whenever you ask for it. I availed a scholarship from the Faculty of Arts and Culture which added NZD 5000 towards my fees. I'm very satisfied with the experience.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is excellent and extremely approachable. All the professors are very kind and helpful. The entire course is taught in a very practical manner which is helpful to get a job in the future. The faculty is very diverse in terms of nationality.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The campus is well connected with the rest of the city via trains and buses. However, public transport is quite expensive, and trains and buses are either often late or get cancelled at the last moment. While students do receive a discount, the expenses are still not very affordable.

My transformative experience at AUT.
Tips: Coming from a Cambridge board and A Level background, I was somewhat familiar with the Western education system. However, adapting to university life in a new country had its challenges. Since I arrived in NZ, I have been pursuing my Master's in Engineering while maintaining a full-time job. One of the most notable cultural shifts was the difference in communication style. I found that people here tended to be more direct and informal, which was quite different from the more reserved and formal interactions I was accustomed to. Additionally, social norms around collaboration and group work were different. Teamwork was emphasized, and I had to adapt to expressing my ideas more openly in discussions. Overall, while there were challenges, the transition has been enriching and I am fully satisfied with the experiences.

The university is great with friendly people.
Tips: The cultural shift was huge to me, but people were very friendly everywhere I went. I never applied for any kind of scholarship, but I'm sure there is a scholarship opportunity for 1st years. I'm immensely satisfied with my course, university, and the country. I made so many friends, the teaching team is really great, and the country is beautiful and the people are too.
Likes (Student Life): I get to pick my class timings, and all my classes are flexible, so that's the best thing about university life for me. I usually go to university when I have classes, which are usually around 16 hours every week. There are various clubs all around campus, and you can join them whenever you'd like. There are RUOK advisors who check up on students around campus and support them. There are ECMS, sports, math, Compsci, and quite a lot of other clubs. These clubs and events around campus gave me an opportunity to connect with people and make new friends at every event.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are different kinds of restaurants around, and most of the places serve various cuisines, so there are heaps of options. Also, some places offer student discounts or have special combos for students. It's usually about 15 - 25 Dollars for a person. I prefer cooking meals at home, but there are some really good options if I want to eat out.

Tips: The University provides with good exposure and opportunities to mingle with students from different places. I had applied for a scholarship before my arrival unfortunately, I couldn't get it. Many of the recent batch (February intake) students received scholarships for accommodation close to the campus. The University, course and country are good. The 3 year stay back option is really helpful for the students.
Likes (Safety): There are access cars for students to access the university facilities during weekends. There are study rooms that are pre-booked and are accessible during weekends too. People here are generally friendly however, there are reports of increasing crime activities from different parts of the city.
Dislikes (Student Life): Students pursuing PG courses do not spend much time at the University apart from attending lectures or preparing assignments. I had lectures for 2 hours every weekday in the first semester. The final semester comprises just a project with only once a week appointments with the project supervisors. A lot of events are organised by different clubs such as Students Associations, Employability Clubs etc. There are also events related to festivals such as Diwali, Onam etc.

Good college with multi cultural diversity and part time opportunities.
Tips: Students should know that adjusting to the time zone can be difficult for a week. I availed 2 scholarships one academic and one for accommodation. I am fully satisfied with the University course and the beauty of NZ. However, the rent is expensive in the city but cheaper on the outskirts and have a good variety of cuisines and a good climate throughout the year.
Likes (Post study jobs): AUT has good networking and connections to the industry, no idea about Sponsor Visas for work but what I have seen is most of the companies require a permanent visa or at least citizenship to be considered to work there, there are multiple roles offered and good salary packages at least for the technology domain.
Dislikes (Part time work): Getting part time work is difficult compared to getting actual work. Managing part time with studies is easy since we are only allowed to work 20 hours max in a week unless it's a semester break where you can work 40, and the average payout is anywhere from 23-30 dollars per hour.

A good place to kick start your international education.
Tips: NZ is a wonderful place in general. So adjusting was not a problem. Finding accommodation is tedious so I suggest international students to opt for university accommodation for the first semester. There are good scholarships on the AUT website. It keeps getting updated regularly.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): For Masters the post study work visa options are attractive. Post that getting residence is also simpler compared to countries like US or UK. They also offer good visitor visa options for dependents. The student's spouse also gets a work visa till the time the student is studying.
Dislikes (Value for money): ROI is comparatively less for the course. The salary for jobs after the course is in the average range, especially for international students. It is however good if anyone plans to take up a Ph.D. after Master since AUT has good research programmes. A few courses are interesting as well.

A fruitless expensive adventure.
Tips: Given the current conditions, the move isn't worth it. Better to invest the money elsewhere. Part-time job hunting isn't supported, and neither is full-time job hunting after the course. I would have much rather preferred to have invested the money in the market or opened up a business with it, which would've yielded better results.
Dislikes (Student Life): Unfortunately, Covid hit as soon as my student life began. Although the university held online classes, there weren't many opportunities to interact with and build relationships with our professors. No activities or guidance were provided to students during this crisis.
