The university has its charm and is located in a nice place with proximity to bigger cities.
Tips: Be thorough in your research about the university and the place you are visiting. Have a clear idea of what you are spending your money on, ie, getting the Certificate for a ticket into this country to get a job and start working as soon as possible or upskilling yourself and having to complete your Master's and getting that Certificate. Talk with peers and alumni who have walked the same path and how their experiences are and try to get in touch with as many as possible as everyone has their own story to tell. Search for scholarship opportunities that can greatly help your mental health and make you focus on your life and studies. Overall, I am satisfied with the university but I wish I had done more research on the country and universities before applying as I could have gotten into a better university with my qualifications.
Likes (Safety): Sweden is generally a safe country to be in, especially in a smaller town, of course, the same can't be said about the bigger cities, but I would say it's relatively safe and people are law-abiding. I found the experience of living here much peaceful and a general sense of safety is there always.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Generally speaking, more than 80% of my classmates are unemployed after graduation. Most of them are doing odd jobs that are not even remotely close to their professions, and they are in a mindset to look for anything rather than a professional job.

A decent experience with room for improvement.
Tips: Students should preferably select the relevant course as they want instead of just migrating to any country. Scholarships are provided based on their marks obtained which will get up to 50%. As there are many students from various parts of the world, but still we don't feel anything that corresponds to cultural exchange.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): The country is safe and has a warm welcome for foreign students. There are no issues based on gender, sex, or color. The only problem is the language. Though everyone speaks English, it is mandatory to know Swedish to be able to settle here and get a good job in a relevant field. Thankfully, the government teaches us Swedish for free.
Dislikes (Value for money): While the university provides quality education and good facilities, tuition fees are higher compared to similar courses elsewhere. I expect a bit more in terms of practical exposure, career services, and industry connections to justify the cost.

Dislikes (Post study jobs): Lehigh offers strong career support, and its STEM programs make you eligible for a 3-year OPT extension. Common job roles include Data Analyst, Software Developer, and Business Analyst, with starting salaries typically ranging from $70k-$90k. It’s worth it.

The system is highly efficient, affordable, and well-integrated. The campus is well connected to the rest of the city through buses, trams, and metro lines, which run frequently and on time. Most areas can be reached with minimal transfers, and the routes are student-friendly. Monthly or semester travel passes are available at discounted rates, making it cost-effective for daily commuting. Public transport is clean, safe, and reliable, which greatly enhances mobility for students without the need for personal vehicles. Overall, I'm very much satisfied with both my course of study and the country.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): While the country offers structured pathways for international graduates to apply for permanent residence, the process can be lengthy and competitive depending on the region and field of study. My chances of permanent settlement are fair, especially given the demand in tech and engineering sectors, but it requires careful planning and meeting specific eligibility criteria. Given the opportunity, I would be open to permanently immigrating here due to the high quality of life, career prospects, and multicultural environment. However, in my case, I view my time in the US as an opportunity to gain a world-class education and international exposure. I plan to take the knowledge, skills, and experience gained at Lehigh back to my home country to contribute to its growing tech and innovation sectors. While permanent settlement is a possibility for many, my personal preference is to use this academic journey to build a strong foundation for impactful work back home. That said, I appreciate the US system for providing flexibility in career and immigration decisions.
