M.Eng. in Sustainable Textiles - Batch of 2026
4.8
Life and learnings at Hof University.
Tips: Initially, adjusting to the culture was challenging as it was my first time being so far from home. However, things became smoother over time. Securing a part-time job and making new friends made the experience worthwhile. There are scholarship opportunities available for students with good academic performance. I am fully satisfied with my course and the university.
Likes (Safety): Mostly, residential areas in Germany are very quiet and calm, and it's very safe to walk around, even at night. I once even forgot my phone on public transport, but I was able to get it back due to the good security. Additionally, Germany offers student discounts on public transportation, which is very beneficial.
Dislikes (Indian Food): As an Indian finding Indian food isn't an issue in Germany with numerous Indian and Asian restaurants available everywhere. The prices are also reasonable. I eat Indian food about once a month, and it's easy to find all the necessary products to cook Indian dishes.

Master in Operational Excellence (M.B.A. and Eng.) - Batch of 2027
4.4
A close-knit campus with global and creative opportunities.
Tips: The transition to Germany was both exciting and challenging. I experienced a cultural shift mainly in independent and punctual life here, and also in the direct way people communicate, which I've grown to appreciate. I haven't applied for any scholarships yet, but Hof University offers various scholarships like DAAD, Deutschland Stipendium, and other scholarships. Overall, I am very much satisfied with my university as the professors are approachable, the course is well-structured, and the country offers a safe and international environment that allows me to grow both academically and professionally.
Likes (Student Life): There will be regular lectures, seminars, and presentations. The university campus is very calm and serene, offering a good atmosphere for students to study. The library is well-equipped, and the university campus offers various facilities. Regular career-related and community-based events take place at the university. Hof University has clubs for sports, international networking, entrepreneurship, cultural exchange, and student representation.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are few Indian restaurants but they lack authenticity and are expensive. I would rather prefer trying local cuisines and cooking Indian food at home. There are few supermarket which have a large selection of Indian groceries and frozen items. Also one can go to a nearby larger city like Nuremberg to buy Indian groceries.

Master in Operational Excellence (M.B.A. and Eng.) - Batch of 2026
4.5
Practical and industry-oriented.
Tips: This is a very good course. The internship opportunities are excellent and significantly enhance your CV for future full-time positions. The only consideration is the semester fee of 3500 euros. Apart from that, it's fantastic. Before coming to Germany, it's crucial to learn German to at least a B1 level, and having at least two years of experience in India will make life much easier.
Likes (Indian Food): There are various options available both on and off campus. The canteen occasionally offers Indian food, and they also have vegan options. However since you've come so far I encourage you to embrace the local cuisine it's quite good as well.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are some student assistant jobs, require you to contact different professors. There are off campus jobs but those usually require good German skills. There are also some helping jobs in production facilities that don't require much German.

Helpful teachers, friendly students, and a welcoming culture.
Tips: First of all, students should know basic German, at least A1-A2 level, to interact easily with others and take part in discussions; without it, they may feel left out. They should also be hardworking and punctual to complete assignments and tests on time. I did not receive any scholarship, as my current university had a tie-up with a German university, so I went directly through my college. Overall, it was a very good experience. Germany is technologically advanced, offers great exposure, and the industrial visits added immense value to my learning.
Likes (Student Life): I always felt secure both on campus and in the surrounding areas. The environment is peaceful, crime rates are low, and public transportation is reliable even at night. The university also has good safety measures and support systems for students, which made me feel confident about my well-being.
Dislikes (Internships): Securing good opportunities often depends on your language proficiency. While the education and course were in English, many quality internships require at least A1 or A2 level German. Professors can provide some guidance, but most of the effort has to come from you. Opportunities are available, yet obtaining them relies heavily on your skill set, networking, and initiative.

Master in General Management (M.B.A.) - Batch of 2026
3.4
Limited opportunities but a friendly city.
Tips: Consider the cost of living and have a backup plan if you don't find a part-time job. Learning German is highly beneficial for the German job market. I am satisfied with both the course and the country, as they offer valuable opportunities and learning experiences, not just within the university, but for life in general.
Likes (Safety): There are no cameras, but the city is mostly secure. We have travelled at night many times without any issues. The streets are well-lit, and police vehicles patrol the area. There isn't much noticeable pollution either.
Dislikes (Part time work): There aren't many part-time jobs in the area, as Hof is a small city. To find work, you may need to travel, which is feasible. Part-time work can be managed alongside studies, with an average payout between 13 to 15 euros.

The university is good and is really well integrated with classrooms, a gym, the mess, etc.
Tips: I believe everyone transforms once they have international exposure. You get to see that people enjoy the sauna more than the gym. Winters are cold and empty, while summers are lively. I was fortunate enough to be selected for a semester scholarship from Erasmus. It was 1800 euros. It helped a lot with the expenses you have as an international student. Satisfied with the university, especially my course, as I come from a different professional background.
Likes (Student Life): Since it is a small city and the highest in Bavaria, coming from India, you get to see snowfall every winter. The college is really well integrated with classrooms, a gym, the mess, and everything else - it’s a complete package. You have many events like a boom party, a Halloween party, and a job fair etc. I was an active member of the SV, which is the student union. You also have the ISN, which is the International Student Network, a Christian Student Group, Hofspannung, and many others.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Although there is one restaurant, Ganesha, where you can find Indian food, the taste isn't on par with the Indian palette. Instead, the curries are sweet. When you're out eating, try doner, local bakeries, or pizza shops. But if you really crave Indian food, I recommend cooking it yourself. YouTube can really help, too. Plus, as a student, cooking your own food is cheaper than eating out, and that's helpful if you're on a budget.

Hof University of Applied Sciences is a safe, secure campus with multiple facilities.
Tips: Hof University offers a lot of variety in MBA programs, so you can always choose whatever suits your background or future ambitions. They also offer a lot of electives so that you can get the most out of your education, whether you know what you're going to do after graduation or not. If you're just looking around, you can check out the course curriculum and only apply if you find a program that appeals to you. There are very few part-time job opportunities on campus. There are a few student assistant positions, but they’re not enough. In technical courses, there are a few intern or student positions available. You can apply for them or directly contact a professor for a position. Hof University of Applied Sciences is a safe, secure campus with multiple parking options, a cafeteria, a gym, and many sports facilities. There is also a good connection to public transport. The university has a student culture that is particularly good for Indian students. Additionally, there are student dormitories available.

Not worth the fees but a good university.
Tips: The university offers the program at a very basic level. I knew all of it when I was studying. They explained in the curriculum that there would be a more in-depth coverage, which didn't happen, which is pretty disappointing. The university has a career service where students can get their resumes reviewed. They will then suggest if any corrections need to be made according to the standards of the hiring managers. Students are expected to find their own internships, and LinkedIn is generally a good place to find advertisements for them.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The campus is well-connected, but the bus, the only public transportation option, has low frequency. Buses only arrive hourly, and a semester ticket covers the cost of riding the bus within the city. A person interested in walking a lot will surely enjoy it here.

Hof University is great for learning and it’s very friendly for international students.
Tips: I have started living my life on my own, and there was not very much of a cultural shift as there are many Indians in the university. I didn't get a scholarship, but there are no tuition fees for a master's degree as it's a public university. The criteria for admission are a 2.5 GPA, a German A1 Certificate and an IELTS band score of 7.0. Overall, I am totally satisfied with the course and the country.
Likes (Safety): I have been in the city for 3 months and haven't experienced or heard of any safety issues. It's very safe to travel around the city at night, too. Plus, many people in the city are willing to help in case you encounter any problems or are in a bad situation. I can always go out or come home at night without worrying about being unsafe.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There is only one Indian store nearby that is also located in Hof, even though the Textile Campus is located in Münchberg. There are also only three restaurants nearby, which are also located in Hof and not Münchberg. A meal there usually costs 15 euros. For the most part, I just cook for myself.

Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is very welcoming and highly understanding. They will also assist you with assignments and practicals. A supportive, warm, and welcoming university.
Tips: There is a cultural shift to be aware of. In Germany, shops close at 8 pm every day, including weekends and public holidays. I got a scholarship with Bosch and applied for it through their portal. During my six months there, I worked for 35 hours a week as an intern. It’s very easy to find internships during the course. I was lucky enough to get one in Stuttgart with a decent remuneration, which is usually enough for daily expenses. The experience is excellent as you get to learn so much within the work environment. The colleagues are also excellent and supportive. Overall, I am satisfied with my university and the country is very welcoming.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Finding Indian food options is rather difficult. There are 2-3 Indian restaurants, but they are slightly expensive. Usually, it takes around 25 euros to dine at an Indian restaurant per person. I prefer cooking myself as it’s cheaper because other cuisines are relatively cheaper.

Practical learning with strong industry exposure at Hof University.
Tips: Hof University offers practical learning and strong industry tries, but students should be prepared for independent study and German bureaucracy. The transition involved a cultural shift in academics, work-life balance, and social life, with the language barrier being a challenge Learning German helps significantly. Overall, I'm satisfied with my university and course. Germany provides good career opportunities, though adapting to the weather and culture takes time.
Dislikes (Part time work): As Hof is a small city with lots of students it becomes difficult to get on-campus jobs and also it's difficult to get a job outside because of the language barrier. If you found a job the average payout for a part-time job will range around 900-1200.

Tips: Before coming to college in Germany, especially for management courses, it is important to be well prepared in the German language. Fortunately, there are many Indians in Hof, so connecting with them through social media and WhatsApp groups is not difficult. The university also provides a lot of help through its portal to find initial accommodation. If you are a high achiever, the university offers scholarships after the first semester to students who are in the top 10% of their batch. Public transportation is cheap, student life is the best.
Tips: Considerably cultural shift, it is very hard in the beginning, homesickness is something that got me at first but then I made friends (Please do that!). Campus is modern with all the facilities and things are very fast-paced. Just that in general management course there is a gap between the exams so there is semester extension limit. I came to Germany on DAAD, 930 euros what else I need plus top-notch education. I'm very satisfied and have zero complain.
Likes (Safety): It is safe usually some people are friendly and some are not that much. Some can even be racist at times but well that is something to be learned and deal with patience. Other than that there is no threat, things are cool and transportation is also cheap just 1-2 euro ticket for buses and trams.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The price is fair but the market has not many options. At Ganesha I have tried butter chicken and mango lassi. Well, there is a huge demand for butter chicken in foreign nations so it is believed that it is the most Indian dish (Laugh!). Per person, I guess it costs around 25-30 euros and the taste is okay.

Learn German before joining.
Tips: Please go through the website once and see if the course really excites you and offers what you are looking for. Always apply for a scholarship and request the necessary details from the student committee. I won't really recommend anyone to come to a private university and study management here because it does not give value for the money invested.
Likes (Internships): Universities don't help you in finding internships; you really need to work hard to find one, as in some courses it is compulsory to do an internship. In my field, if you know German, you can easily find an internship but with no knowledge of German, it would be difficult.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There's nothing like sponsor visas in Germany and it completely depends on what your degree is for the chances of you getting a job. But the foremost thing I would recommend to everybody before coming to Germany is to learn German. It has been really difficult these days to find a job without knowing German and it doesn't matter which field you belong to. Also the salary packages vary a lot depending on the professions you are aiming for.

Good learning experience in Germany with practical exposure and friendly atmosphere.
Tips: There isn't much of a cultural shift. We find a lot of Indians in our university. Transition is about academically, the course is structured in a way that you are industry ready. I didn't get any scholarship. I don't have much idea about it, people can check on the Daad website and also try their luck in college. I like Germany and people are very nice and welcoming here. I would also recommend that those planning to come here to learn German at least to a basic level before moving. The course and university are good but I personally feel the course structure could be updated and be more market oriented with better elective options that align with the current industry demands.
Likes (Public transportation): There are trams, buses and trains. Public transportation is excellent in Heidelberg, most connections run every 10 minutes during the day and 30 minutes at night till late at night. The Deutschland ticket is available which is valid all over Germany. Almost all modes of transport are accessible with it at a very affordable price, there are student offers for the same.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The university doesn't help with finding jobs, they just give few instructions and a resume template. Students have to find jobs, internships or part time on their own. Like in India, there is no concept of placements here. There are a lot of companies that offer sponsorship for a visa. It won't be a problem. The average package can be expected from 45,000 to 50,000 euros.

A good choice as a backup university.
Tips: There is a big cultural difference but it’s not hard to get along. I am not very positive about my course nor too negative. To be honest I have learned a lot about the data stuff but not happy with the school-like behaviour of the management to take daily attendance and force students to take classes instead of focusing on the academic growth of the student.
Likes (Safety): Heidelberg is a very safe city with polite people. Everyone is respectful and welcoming. There are no specific facilities provided for students to ensure their safety but the law and order of the city is well maintained. Talking about the good experiences, Heidelberg is one of the cities where you will find a large English speaking community, as this is one of the famous tourist places, so even if you are not good with German, you can easily survive here.
Dislikes (Internships): Specifically in our department, it’s like finding on your own. Upon asking, the top faculty says concepts like placements don’t exist here. But not to forget some of the faculty are really good and helpful whenever you ask for guidance. University is good but our department is okay.

Good college. Fun and diverse.
Tips: This university has a very unique study schedule. A single subject is taught for 5 weeks, post which there will be a test, and then you move over to the Next subject in that semester. There will definitely be a culture difference, but nothing too abrupt. One will get used to it in no time. Understanding the rules and regulations of the country is a must when it comes to public rules, transportation and all that. You have student help groups in the university for this.
Likes (Student Life): A lot of freedom in terms of classes and lectures and a good amount of things for students to do when they're not head deep into books. Travelling is easy due to the public transportation measures taken by the country. Organizations like Studifahrten which will take you on group tours to close by countries for reasonable prices. Loved this about the country.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are definitely quite a few Indian restaurants but the taste was never like home which is obvious. Food was good, no doubt. I used to mainly cook, because getting ingredients is quite easy as there are Indian shops, although slightly expensive, but they're there.

A great place to study computer science in a more practical way.
Tips: I haven't availed of any scholarships, and I don't have any idea about them. I would prefer a public university due to the significantly higher tuition fees in private institutions. The university is pretty good, and the evaluation is based on practical skills and not theoretical knowledge.
Likes (Public transportation): You can take the tram from the university, as the stop is a very short 3-minute walk away. It allows easy access to Mannheim and Heidelberg. Buses are also readily available near the university for travel to Heidelberg. The connections are frequent and affordable, as the DB ticket enables travel throughout Germany.
Dislikes (Value for money): I don't think it is value for money, tuition is seven times higher than at a public university. I feel there should be more benefits, such as semester tickets, discounted canteens, and a larger library. They could also host more events for free, as currently, we have to pay for tickets to attend them.

Lively campus and a decent learning environment.
Tips: Students should know everything about the college, including the city's weather. They should also be familiar with the faculty members and professors, the distance of the city centre from the college, and the courses they are interested in, as these are detailed in the main course book.
Likes (Internships): Student life is really enjoyable and easy. Students are free to ask anything, and mental health sessions are available regularly. The campus is huge, and it's very close to the station, bus stop, and tram stop; it's a really nice location to stay.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The faculty members in my department are not only highly knowledgeable but also invested in students' learning and success. The faculty is very accessible, and most professors are regular and punctual, always ready to help students.

SRH Hochschule Heidelberg is focused on providing practical knowledge.
Tips: You will feel a cultural shift once you move in. The teaching methods are significantly different from those in India. Your work ethic will define you. Learning German to a B2 level will give you a significant advantage over your peers consider it a key skill.
Likes (Safety): I've worked late nights on campus, and it always felt safe, even with female colleagues in my group. The main concern is transportation after midnight, but if you leave before the last connection you'll be fine. Germany is generally a safe place to live.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are no Indian food options in the cafeteria. If you're looking for Indian cuisine you'll need to cook your own meals. I tried the cafeteria food once and didn't like it at all. Vegetarian options are limited. However there are some decent snack options like cakes available.

Student-friendly and reputed university. Learn German for better job opportunities.
Tips: Obviously, there was a cultural adjustment, but it's easy to get used to it. It's not a big problem. I didn't receive a scholarship, but you can apply. Overall, I'm satisfied with the university; however, the fees seem high compared to other private universities.
Likes (Public transportation): The transportation system is excellent and well-connected. As a student, you can get a Deutschland ticket for 39.90 euros per month, which is very helpful, and many people use it. For long-distance travel, you can purchase a separate ICE ticket for fast trains.
Dislikes (Value for money): Germany offers free Masters programs in public universities with good education. Even though we are at one of the best universities, I feel 27,000 euros is too much for a two-year programme. In Germany, the university you attend doesn't matter for jobs; only talent matters, and the job hunt is entirely up to you.

The university is best known for good English study program for international students.
Tips: Visit the SRH website; contact information and virtual tours are available. Connect with the university's international group and fellow students. While I didn't receive a scholarship, many programs are now available. As an applied computer science student and working student for 1.3 years, I can say this program has strong market exposure.
Likes (Post study jobs): There are no campus placement rules in Germany. It's your responsibility to apply for jobs and qualify for them. However, the university has a good reputation in the market, so you can get good exposure. Many companies have openings every month, so you can apply for them.
Dislikes (Value for money): My university charges 12,000 euros per year, which is fully justified given the quality of education and the German job market. Applied Computer Science has good market exposure, and in the past 1.5 years, as a working student, I've already earned more than my tuition fees.

The university boasts strong academics and a great faculty.
Tips: Familiarise yourself with the admission requirements including language and document stipulations. Research tuition fees, living costs, and your personal expenses. Be prepared to adjust to the climate. If you wish to live on campus apply for on campus accommodation through the SRH official website. There's no guarantee that you will get the accommodation. Please look at the city of Heidelberg and the nearby places in Heidelberg.

Practical oriented; hands on project experience.
Tips: The first thing students should do before coming here is to learn German, at least to a B1 level. It's not mandatory for the university, but it helps a lot. The biggest cultural adjustment for me was that professors prefer to be addressed by their first name, rather than "sir" or "professor." I didn't apply for scholarships, but they are available on the university website. I will not be able to provide the exact number of companies, but many international companies offer visa sponsorships. Primarily, roles for software engineers, full-stack developers, and AI engineers are offered to fresh graduates, although this also depends on the students' interests. The average salary for master's graduates ranges from 50,000 to 60,000 euros annually. Genuinely, public transportation is excellent based on my experience. As a student, you also get the Deutschland Ticket premium at a low cost. It's very convenient to get to the university from any city, and you can use trams, buses, and trains. Overall, I am satisfied with the university, the country, and the course. In my experience, this course is very practical, offering hands-on project experience.

Best technical university with hands on industrial experience.
Tips: Make sure you research scholarships and other opportunities offered by the university. These are very helpful for your career, whether you are seeking a full time job or an internship as a working student in Germany. Also I want to stay in touch with university professors.
Likes (Public transportation): The tram and bus lines are well connected with 15-minute intervals making them convenient for students, regardless of travel distance. The transport fare is the same for everyone €58 but students receive a discounted rate of €39.
Dislikes (Internships): Guidance regarding internships was lacking from the faculty and we had to find them ourselves. While not a compulsory module students can also take advantage of the university's resources to secure internships and similar positions.

To secure internships, you may need to look outside of Heidelberg.
Tips: Life is very different in this country. You have to struggle a bit at the start to get yourself settled properly. But once you get used to everything and the surroundings, you can achieve the dream that you came with. Along with it, if you're someone who loves travelling and exploring different places, then it's absolutely worth it. It's an incredibly rewarding experience.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is very good all over Germany. You can literally travel to any part just by knowing the modes and the connections. Major cities are well-connected with multiple modes of transport. Once you get used to the routes it will get easier.
Dislikes (Internships): For securing internships, you may need to travel to some other city that has very limited opportunities. Also, don't expect any help from college to find internships; you need to find them on your own based on your skills independently. The college will organise career fairs and networking events, and that's all. You need to act upon those and find yourself a job.

SRH University in Germany is both academically and sports-oriented university.
Tips: Students should know that SRH University Heidelberg offers a flexible, practice-oriented learning model with supportive faculty. However, adapting to the 5-week block system and managing self-study time effectively is key to success.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): Germany offers great permanent options, especially for skilled graduates. At SRH University Heidelberg, I feel supported with career and visa guidance, but navigating bureaucracy can still be a little bit overwhelming sometimes.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Only few Indian stores or Indian restaurants are accessible to people staying in the outskirts of Heidelberg, but nevertheless the restaurants serve amazing and super authentic Indian food. The university cafe or canteen doesn't serve any Indian food.

Highly practical course aligned with real world job market demands.
Tips: It was difficult to get accustomed to the cold. Learning the language is very important for professional growth as well as to live a good life in this society. Germans have a completely different lifestyle, food habits, recycling, and walking a lot. I have not availed of any scholarship; however, there are many available. The German bureaucracy might be confusing at first, but it is very systematic and disciplined and designed to help you out once you understand navigating through it.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): The chances of permanent settlement in Germany are not very difficult. If you can land a full-time job and learn the language, you can easily get a permanent visa, and after a certain number of years, you can also get a German passport. I would not permanently immigrate to this country because there is no place like home.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fee is too high considering the fact that there are many additional cost once you start studying. For example, all sports facilities are paid for. The entry to any college event is paid. We even have to pay to bring our parents to our graduation. Also, the college canteen is overpriced. The university does not give any concession on travel passes. I feel the student accommodation is below par compared to ones offered by other universities for a similar price.

The university has a big, diverse, vibrant and student-friendly campus.
Tips: A private university where the modules are placed perfectly. A module goes up to 5 weeks, with 4 weeks of lecture and the last week of examination. The university is near to Heidelberg central railway station, making transportation easier. As a student, you will get a good amount of time to learn skills apart from the lecture and also do a part-time job to earn some money, which will help you in your expenses. Feel free to reach out to the faculty in case of any queries, doubts or emergencies. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

SRH Heidelberg is a reputed private university offering great experience.
Tips: It is not like the usual semester. There will be one subject for 5 weeks and it is mostly practical-based exams. There is huge cultural shift. People here are very open-minded and they always greet you and you should always greet them in return. You have to strictly follow the German rules right from garbage collection to road crossing signals. I did not get any scholarship yet but we have options to get it in next semester. I am very much satisfied with the university and course except the fact that I am paying huge tuition fees. With the country, I am satisfied as life is good but there is huge language barrier.
Likes (Safety): There is an International office which is all time available over a call if any emergency. Apart from university security, the police in Germany is amazing. If you call them they will reach to you within 6 minutes. Everything will go well if you do not mess around with bad people or get involved in some negative activities.
Dislikes (Value for money): I would suggest going to public university where there is no tuition fee as in private we pay heavy tuition fees. If you are changing your stream or have a lot of money or want a chill life with no study pressure then you can go for private university.

At the end all that matters are the efforts you take as an individual once you are here.
Tips: The modules are short and end quite quickly. Learn German till B1 and then plan to join for better student work options. Any one programming language is a necessity. Be good at basics for hardware as well as software. Do not copy assignments, do them yourself. Be frank with professors.
Likes (Indian Food): There are Indian stores where you can get all the food items. Also, some Indian restaurants have some delicacies. Mannheim can be traveled easily, where there are much more options for Indian food items and restaurants. Jamoona is a website which delivers Indian food at your doorstep.
Dislikes (Internships): The course of IT doesn't offer internships. In this course, you can apply for werkstudent (work student) where you can work 20 hours/week and get paid close to 12-15 euro/ hour. SAP is one of the companies which students can target. Making applications is very important once you arrive as a student in this college.
