B.S. in Computer Science - Batch of 2025
4.6
Intense but life-changing experience.
Tips: Students should be prepared for a competitive and fast-paced academic environment. Time management is key due to the intense coursework and assignments. Joining clubs and events is a great way to balance studies with extracurricular activities. Also, campus facilities, peer support, and internship opportunities are excellent — but self-discipline and focus are important from day one.
Likes (Value for money): IITs offer world-class education at a very affordable cost compared to private colleges or foreign universities. The government heavily subsidises the tuition fees, yet the quality of teaching, infrastructure, placements, and exposure is on par with top institutions globally. With such a strong return on investment, including high-paying placements, top internships, and research opportunities, the value we get is truly unmatched.
Dislikes (Part time work): Although the institute supports internships and research assistant roles within the campus, there are limited structured part-time job options during the semester. Most of the focus is on academics, which is very rigorous, leaving little time for external part-time jobs. Also, due to the academic pressure, students usually prefer summer internships over weekly part-time roles. However, for students who are proactive, there are some chances to assist professors, join research labs, or contribute to technical projects within the institute.
