Overall the college and the course had its plus, but more work is needed.
Tips: For students coming to Germany, German is essential. Not just for certificates, but to speak. To navigate day-to-day life. There was an opportunity for a scholarship after the 1st semester for students who did really well academically. I did get it during my master's, and it covered close to 30% of my living expenses. It was a big plus. My course had a lot of on-field study, not everything was through books. This is one aspect I appreciate, however, it didn't equip us with courses that are essential for an international student to make it in the market. Working student jobs are a game changer, they help you network and also help you understand the nuances of professional life.
Likes (Public transportation): Excellent public transportation options. Also subsidized by the university for student tickets. It would cost you around 3,500 Rs at the moment. The university where I studied was close to Munich in Germany, here, I had connection options by train, tram, and bus. Plus, it was all covered through the Deutschlandticket.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Cooking for yourself is the best way to save money. Eating outside one time will already cost you anywhere between 800- 1,000 Rs if you go for a Döner or something. If you go for proper rice/bread and curry. It would be between 1,500- 2,000 Rs. I prefer cooking for myself. It took a while to get used to this. But meal prepping used to help me navigate the tough days when I'm really tired.
