HM Rankings 2026: What They Mean for Indian Students
Most of the German Applied Sciences do not appear in the popular rankings like the QS or Times Higher Education and the Munich University of Applied Science is no exception. It does not mean that HM is not a good university for Indian students.
Pro Tip for Indian Students: While evaluating HM for career purposes, you should ignore QS or THE ranking and instead look at at the WirtschaftsWoche employer survey and the CHE ranking for the HM courses you are choosing.
HM is consistently ranked #1 or #2 among the top Applied Sciences Universities in Germany under the WirtschaftsWoche rankings (Germany's most influential employer-preference survey, the gold standard for graduate employability).
Look at the rankings and scores of HM in the table given below -
| Ranking/Assessment | Result |
|---|---|
| WirtschaftsWoche/Universum Employer-Preference Ranking | #1 or #2 among all German Fachhochschulen in Computer Science, Business Informatics and Industrial Engineering for multiple consecutive years |
| CHE Hochschulranking 2026 | Top-group ratings in Business Administration, Production & Automation, Industrial Engineering and Tourism Management |
| Business Administration (CHE 2026) | 4.5/5 overall study situation |
| Production & Automation (CHE 2026) | 4.6/5 study organisation |

HM Hochschule Munchen Courses for Indian Students: English-Taught Options
The 14 departments at HM University of Applied Sciences have German-taught courses mostly. However, two of the Munich University of Applied Sciences courses at the UG level are fully taught in English. At PG level, the HM English-taught programs are many. Overall, this university offers over 100 English-taught programs.
Pro Tip: Indian students should also look for the fact that there are NC and open courses. It is tougher to go for NC courses as the competition is high and the applicants need an excellent application. It is not the case with open courses; if an applicant meets the minimum criteria, they will get a spot at this university.
