Great Learning Experience at Northumbria University
Tips: Students should know the college offers good academic and career opportunities but requires strong time management and self-discipline. I adjusted well after a brief cultural shift in communication and lifestyle. I'm satisfied with the university, courses, and overall experience.
Likes (Student Life): I gave student life a 5 because campus is honestly always buzzing. Most days, I'm just rushing to classes and then immediately catching up on group projects. If there's time, I'll drop by whatever club events are going on. Honestly, with all the random cultural festivals and networking mixers happening around campus, you don't even have to try hard to get involved. Honestly being around such a diverse crowd has really helped me come out of my shell, make some great friends and just pick up solid experience along the way.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The country definitely has actual routes to staying long-term, but honestly, trying to settle down here is a grind. It’s super competitive, takes forever, and you're completely at the mercy of the job market and whatever visa rules they feel like changing. That said, if you've got the right skills and a degree, the opportunities are absolutely out there.

Challenging yet fulfilling.
Tips: Before joining student should research the academic structure, teaching style and assessment methods. Campus facilities like labs, the library, and student support. Scholarship will be applied during the time of the admission process. Some universities focus on independent learning, class participation and research. I'm satisfied with the experience.

It's not gonna be easy but it's not impossible if you try your best.
Tips: Learn to cook as outside food is so costly over here. Don't expect anyone to teach you step by step. You should learn everything by yourself. Everyone will say that it's impossible to find a job in the UK but if you work hard, do some networking and also build a great resume, then you can find a job soon.
Likes (Internships): The university helps you to find internships here through the graduate program. They help you to prepare for the interview and also help you to build a resume which will be helpful while searching for an internship and they also provide paid internships.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Many faculty are doing a PhD, so it's totally different from Indian universities. Here, no one's gonna spoon feed you. You should learn on your own. They give you a lot of assignments and projects and presentations, so self prepration is widely popular here. Don't expect anyone to teach you step by step.

BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science - Batch of 2018
4.1
The campus was culturally diverse. The lecturers were knowledgeable and encouraging.
Tips: Researching the university and its cultural heritage helped me a lot. I also made sure I checked the accreditation and global ranking system to ensure that I can still work elsewhere in the future with this valid degree. Make sure the course aligns with your goals and objectives. Plan your cost and budget living expenses might be a big factor. Trying to look for scholarships or part-time work might give you some financial ease. Also be prepared for cultural differences and adjustments get yourself a health insurance sorted and have a good knowledge of your visa documentation beforehand.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The lecturers were knowledgeable and encouraging. Independent learning and research are encouraged rather than spoon feeding like the Indian curriculum. It helps you grow and develop many skills such as critical thinking and self-awareness. I was exposed to various departments and activities which enriched my academic journey. The campus was culturally diverse, offering a chance to learn from people from different backgrounds and build a global perspective in an inclusive environment.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The UK has a immigration and settlement system. To obtain a permanent residency one must live there for an extended period of time with a valid visa to even be considered. The UK offers excellent education and exposure it is also expensive and highly competitive. If given an opportunity to settle in the UK I would likely not choose it as securing a stable job is very challenging.

Dull country, good education
Tips: My life has not experienced any huge transition in cultural experience because I tend to stay at home all the time. This might be because I am introverted but whoever goes outside can have the enjoyment whatever. I got a 3000 pound scholarship from my university and it is a general scholarship anyone can get. I am satisfied with the studies they provide but the country seems to be a bit dull.
Likes (Indian Food): I actually prefer cooking myself because I like home food, I tried eating out but they are all bland options. So, I started cooking for myself. As I am living in a flat with other Indians, we share the cooking responsibilities and most of the Indian cooking items are available here.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are not many on-campus part-time jobs available, I tried applying for off-campus as well but no luck. It's been a year since I came here but I still have not secured one. But few of my friends are working and they get paid a minimum of 10.42 if you are more than 21.

The best college I have seen in my life.
Tips: Students should know that you should have some certificates if you are joining through sports. You should have around £20000 in your bank account. They should’ve at least 80% in their 10 and 12 classes examination for admission. They have to speak good English .
Likes (Post study jobs): The student life is good because there is an area for us to chill where we can play games like sneaker, Table tennis, Fusball and eat or watch television. We can hang out with our friends in university. No ragging in university and all the students work together.
Dislikes (Value for money): All the professors are quite good they all help us to do our work. If we are stuck somewhere they help us to do that thing. They give us 1:1 ratio also. They don't yell at the students instead they teach students in good manner and we all understand everything that they teach.

MSc Mathematics - Batch of 2025

Lively and energetic campus.
Tips: Focus on industry math. Transitioning meant mastering Geordie slang and self-study. I got a 2,500 Global Scholarship via grades. Very satisfied with Northumbria; the course is practical, and the UK’s Newcastle is an affordable, vibrant student hub.
Likes (Indian Food): 5/5 for life in the city. Days blend 24/7 library study with city fun. I love the "Toon" energy most. The SU hosts weekly gigs and cultural fairs. With 100+ clubs, from Math to Surf, there is always a community to join. It’s the ultimate student experience.
Dislikes (Internships): Faculty are 5/5; they are approachable mentors with open-door policies. I love the unique focus on computational modelling using MATLAB. The staff is truly global, hailing from Europe to Asia, ensuring a diverse and world - class learning experience.

Best when students who are really interested in leaning new things seriously
Tips: Honestly, if you're looking at Northumbria, the biggest thing is just being ready for the pace of it all. The campus is right in the heart of Newcastle, which is honestly amazing for the nightlife or just grabbing a coffee, but it’s definitely a bit of a whirlwind at first. I’d say you really have to stay on top of your own work—the tutors are great and super easy to talk to, but they definitely expect you to take the lead on things. Also, don’t just stick to your own department. There’s a massive 'family' vibe here, especially if you get stuck into the clubs or the union, and it makes settling in way easier. It’s a really diverse place, too, so you’ll meet people from all over. Just be ready for the cold—the North is no joke! But yeah, it’s a solid choice if you want a balance between a serious course and a really lively social scene.

There are many cultural events on-campus. The faculty are highly approachable.
Tips: The university has advanced learning equipment and a world class faculty system, making it the best university for all international students who are coming to study abroad. The university also has top-class infrastructure facilities and a help desk that provides instant solutions to any problems related to studies, etc. I availed the scholarship which was helpful to me for studies. The faculty are really welcoming and they help us out with our assignments. There are on-campus events, activities, seminars, held for the students to socialise among each other. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.

The faculty are approachable and accessible throughout the semester.
Tips: Students should know that it is important to remember that there are scholarships available to help you with the cost of your education. The college provides a lot of opportunities for you to learn and grow. The college has a very welcoming and inclusive culture where everyone is treated equally. The faculty is very good and they teach you how to get involved and in which situations you'll be able to find better opportunities. There are some other colleges that are also good, but this one is the best. I had a lot of time for my studies and internships which meant I had less time for other things. I only had time off on weekends but that was for rest not work. However I did get a lot of experience from everything I was involved in and I learned a lot. I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

There are issues with safety.
Tips: Students should get proper information about the local areas and the people of those areas because one day they would be your friend and might be walking with you as a friend and the other day they might not. That's why you should look at the atmosphere and area properly this might help every student.
Likes (Indian Food): Why I rated high on food options is because those foods were too tasty and were healthy. You must go through the area street food and cuisines.
Dislikes (Safety): Why I rated low on safety because there were lots of issues regarding areas, some were fine while some needs to be improved. That's why I rated low.

You can feel here that you are in your home.
Tips: It is right to know everything about wherever you go. The college is not just a college for students it is their half life . Where they can learn from college students, from college environment and obviously from professors. So its better to know these about the college before joining.
Likes (Indian Food): I have given five stars for food because in this college I eat maximum varieties of foods like coffee, mushroom, vegetarian dishes, mocks and different types of juice etc. I really like the cleanliness of food there and behavior of people is very good here.
Dislikes (Internships): I have given four stars for internship because if there a student is not very good in English then he/she have low chances to achieving good marks, a good career and also a better job. I personally don't like this. That's why I have given 4 stars.

College is good but internship is not so excellent
Tips: You all should avoid some seniors and after 2-3 months they all will help you. All teachers are so good in the college. Hostel is so beautiful and cleanniness also maintaining by the college management . If you will focus on studies then teachers will appreciate you.
Likes (Indian Food): Food options are too many and food quality is also good . I am a fan of my country food. People love to eat here and many students use to eat in canteen of college. My city has many types of food varieties. I usually eat many types of food varieties in every week.
Dislikes (Internships): Intership is somewhere good but not so much excellelent . I like this college but I will say there internship is not so excellent. Here internship is average . I am not saying that internship is so bad but its not too good also.

Likes (Safety): College fee is not so much high and university provide many scholarship ,and college infrastructure is so good . In college many physical activities like football, cricket and dancing and singing society. And college library is very peaceful place , library is not so big but it's okay.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): This college curriculum is not so good. They teach old topic , topics are not relevant for syllabus and in first year most of the subject for all branch those subjects, which are not required for this branch and canteen food are very oil and some teacher are not showing interest in teaching.
