Teesside University is a public institution and a member of the University Alliance – a group of institutions rich in professional and technical education, training, innovation and other related factors. Teesside University traces its origins to 1930 when it started off as Constantine Technical College. In 1969, it became Teesside Polytechnic. Finally, in 1992, it was approved by the Privy Council and it became University of Teesside. In 2009, its name was rechristened Teesside University.
