M.Sc. Business with Business Analytics (with advanced practice in second year) - Batch of 2023
4.2
Challenging yet fulfilling.
Tips: Before joining student should research the academic structure, teaching style and assessment methods. Campus facilities like labs, the library, and student support. Scholarship will be applied during the time of the admission process. Some universities focus on independent learning, class participation and research. I'm satisfied with the experience.

It's not gonna be easy but it's not impossible if you try your best.
Tips: Learn to cook as outside food is so costly over here. Don't expect anyone to teach you step by step. You should learn everything by yourself. Everyone will say that it's impossible to find a job in the UK but if you work hard, do some networking and also build a great resume, then you can find a job soon.
Likes (Internships): The university helps you to find internships here through the graduate program. They help you to prepare for the interview and also help you to build a resume which will be helpful while searching for an internship and they also provide paid internships.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Many faculty are doing a PhD, so it's totally different from Indian universities. Here, no one's gonna spoon feed you. You should learn on your own. They give you a lot of assignments and projects and presentations, so self prepration is widely popular here. Don't expect anyone to teach you step by step.

BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science - Batch of 2018

The campus was culturally diverse. The lecturers were knowledgeable and encouraging.
Tips: Researching the university and its cultural heritage helped me a lot. I also made sure I checked the accreditation and global ranking system to ensure that I can still work elsewhere in the future with this valid degree. Make sure the course aligns with your goals and objectives. Plan your cost and budget living expenses might be a big factor. Trying to look for scholarships or part-time work might give you some financial ease. Also be prepared for cultural differences and adjustments get yourself a health insurance sorted and have a good knowledge of your visa documentation beforehand.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The lecturers were knowledgeable and encouraging. Independent learning and research are encouraged rather than spoon feeding like the Indian curriculum. It helps you grow and develop many skills such as critical thinking and self-awareness. I was exposed to various departments and activities which enriched my academic journey. The campus was culturally diverse, offering a chance to learn from people from different backgrounds and build a global perspective in an inclusive environment.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The UK has a immigration and settlement system. To obtain a permanent residency one must live there for an extended period of time with a valid visa to even be considered. The UK offers excellent education and exposure it is also expensive and highly competitive. If given an opportunity to settle in the UK I would likely not choose it as securing a stable job is very challenging.

Dull country, good education
Tips: My life has not experienced any huge transition in cultural experience because I tend to stay at home all the time. This might be because I am introverted but whoever goes outside can have the enjoyment whatever. I got a 3000 pound scholarship from my university and it is a general scholarship anyone can get. I am satisfied with the studies they provide but the country seems to be a bit dull.
Likes (Indian Food): I actually prefer cooking myself because I like home food, I tried eating out but they are all bland options. So, I started cooking for myself. As I am living in a flat with other Indians, we share the cooking responsibilities and most of the Indian cooking items are available here.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are not many on-campus part-time jobs available, I tried applying for off-campus as well but no luck. It's been a year since I came here but I still have not secured one. But few of my friends are working and they get paid a minimum of 10.42 if you are more than 21.

The best college I have seen in my life.
Tips: Students should know that you should have some certificates if you are joining through sports. You should have around £20000 in your bank account. They should’ve at least 80% in their 10 and 12 classes examination for admission. They have to speak good English .
Likes (Post study jobs): The student life is good because there is an area for us to chill where we can play games like sneaker, Table tennis, Fusball and eat or watch television. We can hang out with our friends in university. No ragging in university and all the students work together.
Dislikes (Value for money): All the professors are quite good they all help us to do our work. If we are stuck somewhere they help us to do that thing. They give us 1:1 ratio also. They don't yell at the students instead they teach students in good manner and we all understand everything that they teach.

There are many cultural events on-campus. The faculty are highly approachable.
Tips: The university has advanced learning equipment and a world class faculty system, making it the best university for all international students who are coming to study abroad. The university also has top-class infrastructure facilities and a help desk that provides instant solutions to any problems related to studies, etc. I availed the scholarship which was helpful to me for studies. The faculty are really welcoming and they help us out with our assignments. There are on-campus events, activities, seminars, held for the students to socialise among each other. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.

University College Birmingham is fun place with lots of extracurriculars and events.
Tips: The college has a diverse culture, which can be a bit difficult to adopt but is not impossible. It takes time to learn their culture, language, and food habits, but eventually, you will get it. I was happy to receive a 1000-pound scholarship from the university, and I am glad to be studying at UCB because it is the only college in the UK that offers my course of study.
Likes (Student Life): Student life at University College Birmingham is a lot of fun. The campus is next to everything you need, from nightlife to daytime activities. There are cultural events happening every month, which is a great way to promote unity and diversity among the students.
Dislikes (Part time work): On campus, it is very difficult to get a part-time job because the university prioritizes UK-based students who have UK experience. However, it is easy to manage a part-time job during university hours because most places only offer 20 hours of work per week and the work is very flexible. The average pay is 11.20 per hour.

Not satisfied with the course and faculty.
Tips: Cultural shift was actually a productive thing for me.
You will get to see different lifestyles, different views of living different cultural views. No scholarships were given and I am not satisfied with the course and university.
Country is okay, you will get the abroad vibes
Likes (Indian Food): You get a variety of food options.
Pricing is okay, depends on what food you want or what restaurant. Lots of Indian restaurants. Lots of Indian grocery shops around. So no struggle to get home food. I prefer to cook. For me, home food is always the best food.
Dislikes (Value for money): The college is not value for money because you expect that you will get to learn about some specific things and you get to see something else.
Very few or no practical lessons.
Guidance from the professor is very poor. They really don't try to help. They will give you time and you need to get your problem sorted within that minimum time, it does not matter if it's solved or not.

Safety is a concern here.
Tips: Be well prepared for the level of assignments and the stress related to them. Every student gets a scholarship for the course. The best option is to go for the placement/internship offered. The city is more silent than other major cities and has barely or no nightlife and hence reduces the opportunities for nighttime jobs. Job opportunities depend on the seasons heavily.
Likes (Public transportation): Campus is in the heart of the city, with excellent connectivity to different parts of the city too. There are bus services, metro services, trains, and cab/taxi services that students can avail of at discounted rates and passes would also be available for frequent travellers.
Dislikes (Safety): Crime rates are extremely high, no safety while walking alone on roads. University encourages students to use safety apps to always share location and details with trusted people so that students can remain safe. Daily news about crimes and incidents around the city creates a bad atmosphere too.
