MSc in Management and Business Analytics - Batch of 2024
3.6
A place to learn, grow and succeed.
Tips: The university offers a great learning experience with a well-structured course, supportive faculty, and good resources. But to make the most of it, the student should be proactive at networking, gaining hands-on experience, and making use of available opportunities. The transition was exciting but came with challenges. Adjusting to a new academic system and daily life took some time, but it helped me grow in many ways, say facing a new challenge each day. There was definitely a cultural shift, say in communication, classroom interactions, and lifestyle. But over time it became a great experience. I did get a scholarship, and it is based on your academic merit; it involves supporting necessary documents. It covered part of my tuition fees, which was really helpful. I am quite happy with my experience. The university provides good-quality education. The course is well structured, and the country has great experience to learn and grow.
Likes (Value for money): The course offers great value for money. The faculty is knowledgeable, and the curriculum is well structured. And the resources provided are excellent. The university also offers strong academic support, making the learning experience worthwhile. The tuition fees are justified as the course delivers quality education and industry-relevant knowledge. It was a great investment for my future.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are options they don't quite match the flavour I grew up with. Around here you will find everything from budget friendly eateries to cosy midrange spots and a few fancy restaurants if you love exploring different cultures. I am mostly comfortable cooking my meals at home because it helps me feel safe and lets me bring a little taste of home with me.

Oxford Brookes University has very limited on-campus internship opportunities.
Tips: Some courses are more difficult than others, and some faculty seem to deliberately fail students. That's why it's important to talk to students who have taken the course you're interested in. However, the syllabus is updated and advanced. I was fortunate to receive a 1000-pound scholarship, which is open to everyone. There are a few cultural shifts to make, but nothing too unusual or difficult. There are a few on-campus events and activities that really help us to bond with our seniors and make connections. Overall, I'm happy with my course and university.

University College Birmingham is fun place with lots of extracurriculars and events.
Tips: The college has a diverse culture, which can be a bit difficult to adopt but is not impossible. It takes time to learn their culture, language, and food habits, but eventually, you will get it. I was happy to receive a 1000-pound scholarship from the university, and I am glad to be studying at UCB because it is the only college in the UK that offers my course of study.
Likes (Student Life): Student life at University College Birmingham is a lot of fun. The campus is next to everything you need, from nightlife to daytime activities. There are cultural events happening every month, which is a great way to promote unity and diversity among the students.
Dislikes (Part time work): On campus, it is very difficult to get a part-time job because the university prioritizes UK-based students who have UK experience. However, it is easy to manage a part-time job during university hours because most places only offer 20 hours of work per week and the work is very flexible. The average pay is 11.20 per hour.

Not satisfied with the course and faculty.
Tips: Cultural shift was actually a productive thing for me.
You will get to see different lifestyles, different views of living different cultural views. No scholarships were given and I am not satisfied with the course and university.
Country is okay, you will get the abroad vibes
Likes (Indian Food): You get a variety of food options.
Pricing is okay, depends on what food you want or what restaurant. Lots of Indian restaurants. Lots of Indian grocery shops around. So no struggle to get home food. I prefer to cook. For me, home food is always the best food.
Dislikes (Value for money): The college is not value for money because you expect that you will get to learn about some specific things and you get to see something else.
Very few or no practical lessons.
Guidance from the professor is very poor. They really don't try to help. They will give you time and you need to get your problem sorted within that minimum time, it does not matter if it's solved or not.

Safety is a concern here.
Tips: Be well prepared for the level of assignments and the stress related to them. Every student gets a scholarship for the course. The best option is to go for the placement/internship offered. The city is more silent than other major cities and has barely or no nightlife and hence reduces the opportunities for nighttime jobs. Job opportunities depend on the seasons heavily.
Likes (Public transportation): Campus is in the heart of the city, with excellent connectivity to different parts of the city too. There are bus services, metro services, trains, and cab/taxi services that students can avail of at discounted rates and passes would also be available for frequent travellers.
Dislikes (Safety): Crime rates are extremely high, no safety while walking alone on roads. University encourages students to use safety apps to always share location and details with trusted people so that students can remain safe. Daily news about crimes and incidents around the city creates a bad atmosphere too.
