MBBS - Batch of 2023
4.3
Strong academics and diverse faculty.
Tips: For Indian students, a valid NEET score is generally required. This is especially important if you plan to practice medicine in India after graduation. Students must have achieved a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in their 12th-grade examinations or equivalent. Applicants must typically be 17 years of age or older by December 31st of the admission year. The medium of teaching is both English and Russian. Students should be prepared for potential exposure to the Russian language. Be prepared for a thorough document verification process, which includes providing a mark sheet, passport, birth certificate, and other necessary documents. Students will need to obtain a Russian student visa. This process can take time, so it's essential to start early. Understand the tuition fees and living expenses. Factor in the cost for accommodation, food, and other necessities. Moving to Russia involves adapting to a new culture and environment. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Safety): The safety and security situation in Russia is excellent. The Russian people are very friendly, and the police officers are always kind to the Indian community. You can even walk alone in the street in the middle of the night without fear, and you can find many Russian girls on the street out walking and having fun in the middle of the night on weekends, as well.
Dislikes (Part time work): To work in the part-time medical field, you need to pass an exam in your third year. But that's not all, if you want to work, you also need to know Russian because that's what they work with out there. There's a language barrier.

Perm State Medical University has many events on-campus and we celebrate Indian festivals as well.
Tips: In terms of culture, the shift was minor because we lived with people from the same community. This made the transition easier because we didn’t feel like we were too far away from home. Plus, we were able to celebrate all of our Indian festivals. I was not offered a scholarship, however, I found a decent, local agency that provided an allowance, and I was able to adjust to the new culture thanks to them. The faculty are helpful and positive, and their teaching methods are unique. They have an app for 3D virtual reality cases that lets you have hands-on practice. Furthermore, this is a diverse institution because the treatment protocols used vary from one country to another. The food is decent but soon your taste buds will give up as Indians we are used to getting spicier food.

Multicultural environment and academic oriented.
Tips: Be responsible academically, physically, and mentally, and bring exchange money to welcome you to the first day of class. You'll be living and learning in a foreign country, and you'll be able to try new things that you'd never do back home. I usually prefer cooking to eating out, but sadly, there aren’t many options available for Indian food in the area. What we find available is Russian or other, non-Indian food. The faculty are very helpful and will guide you throughout the semester however, a few of them can not teach in English so it might be difficult a times. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

One of the oldest universities in Russia that uses robotics to treat patients.
Tips: Everyone can Google our university name, and on the university website, everyone can check all the details before joining the university. It is one of the oldest universities in Russia and is recognized as being under 1000 in the world rankings. It is academically oriented, with all the teaching faculty members being very excellent. NEET exam qualifying marks are required to join our university.
Likes (Safety): Our campus security follows the rules of the Russian government. They provide us with all the facilities, and special CCTV cameras are installed all around our campus. Student safety is our university's first priority. The Dean of our university provides us with all the safety measures on campus. The city is beautiful, and the destination is excellent. It provides us with all the necessary things that we require in our daily lives.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The quality of our faculty is very good, and they are easily accessible. They teach us every subject with proper information and, according to our syllabus, clear all our doubts, take grand tests, and make sure our syllabus is ready for us. The teaching methodology in our university is unique in its own way. They teach us every subject thoroughly with rapid revision and conceptual understanding. Robotics are being used here and are also utilized in our hospital for treating patients as well.

The university is good. It has strong academics and the faculty are amazing.
Tips: After joining PSMU, I have changed a lot. I have experienced different cultures and had to manage my monthly expenses. Sometimes my expenses would end in the middle of the month, and I had to figure out how to survive without money. However, I was able to participate in a student exchange program that allowed me to travel to other countries. Overall, I am fully satisfied with my university.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at Perm State Medical University is amazing. Top surgeons from Russia teach us, and they all speak English. Classes are in two shifts, one in the morning and one in the evening. The schedule is hectic, but don't worry, the faculty at Psmu is excellent.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I usually cooked my own meals, but when I had classes, I sometimes ate out. The exchange rate between the ruble and the Indian rupee was about equal, so if your parents send you 20,000 rupees, you will receive about 20,000 rubles. There is an Indian restaurant in Perm called Lakshmi that serves good food at a reasonable price.

Challenging academics but caring community.
Tips: Students should be prepared to be independent before coming here. Things will get tough but eventually, everyone gets through that. But people here are so helpful and they try to understand you. There are always events and activities that students can participate in. But the best part for me is that I feel free to do things on my own. I feel very liberal and carefree here, and it really feels great. Overall it's a win place to study.
Dislikes (Student Life): The transportation at Perm State Medical University is very affordable and easily accessible, so students can get to their respective departments on time. The teaching is very diverse, as students from all over the world come here to pursue their medical degrees. Practical as well as theoretical courses are well taught here.

An enriching and transformative college experience.
Tips: Students should know that this college provides an academically rigorous yet supportive environment. The curriculum is well-structured, focusing on both theoretical and practical learning. Additionally, the college offers excellent extracurricular opportunities, well-equipped facilities, and a vibrant campus life. However, they should also be prepared for a fast-paced schedule and take advantage of available resources like counselling, career services, and clubs. Coming here was a transformative experience. Initially, I did face a cultural shift, especially adapting to the diverse student body and different academic expectations. However, the welcoming environment and support from peers and faculty made the transition smoother. The exposure to varied cultures and perspectives helped me grow personally and professionally. I availed a scholarship. I secured it based on academic merit and leadership activities during the application process. The scholarship covered a significant portion of my tuition fees and included a monthly allowance to help with living expenses. The application process involved submitting a detailed essay, recommendation letters, and proof of achievements. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Student Life): Student life at my college is vibrant and fulfilling. The campus offers a perfect blend of academics, extracurricular activities, and opportunities for personal growth. The supportive environment, modern facilities, and strong sense of community make it an enriching experience. A typical day involves attending engaging lectures, participating in group discussions, and working on projects. I also spend time at the library or recreational space on campus. The campus hosts a wide range of events, including cultural festivals, hackathons, sports tournaments, guest lectures, and workshops. These events happen regularly, sometimes weekly or monthly. The campus has diverse student clubs and communities catering to various interests, such as tech, art, literature, music, dance, and sports. There are also clubs focused on social causes, entrepreneurship, and cultural exchange. Being part of these communities has helped me build skills, meet like-minded people, and explore my passion beyond academics.
Dislikes (Safety): The faculty in my department is exceptionally knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate about their subjects. They have strong academic credentials and real-world experience, which makes their teaching relevant and impactful. The faculty members are highly accessible and approachable, and they maintain open office hours to encourage students to reach out for guidance. Their willingness to listen and mentor creates a supportive learning environment.

Thriving in diversity and growth.
Tips: The college fosters academic growth, a diverse culture, and extracurricular activities. Transitioning here was smooth, with minor cultural shifts like adapting to new traditions. I received a merit scholarship covering part of my tuition. Student life is so vibrant and engaging. My days are filled with classes, club activities, and hanging out with friends. I especially enjoy the cultural fests, sports, and workshops. Numerous clubs focus on the arts, teaching, and hobbies, and they have regular, exciting events. I'm highly satisfied with my experience here.
Dislikes (Internships): The faculty is highly approachable, supportive, and committed to student success. Their teaching methodology emphasises interactive learning, practical applications, and research-based insights. The department also boasts diverse faculty from varied nationalities.

Perm State Medical University has an excellent reputation for its educational faculties.
Tips: The culture is very good, the people are very honest and respectful, and the environment is conducive to learning. The faculty and teaching facilities are excellent, and the university provides a lot of respect for Indian culture. Unfortunately, no scholarships are available. I am very satisfied with my university.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): The campus is beautiful, the weather is great, and the people are friendly and honest. The university organizes a variety of events throughout the year, including an international festival, a fresher's party, a New Year's celebration, and a Christmas celebration. These events provide opportunities to meet and interact with students from other countries and learn about different cultures.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty in our university are very accessible and approachable. They clear up our doubts in class and teach us in a way that we can easily understand the concepts. The teaching methodology in our department is very unique. They use a robotics system to teach us, and our department has a helicopter that can transport patients in emergency situations.

The course is updated regularly, and the faculty are very knowledgeable.
Tips: The college facilities are excellent, and scholarships are merit-based. The country offers us a very decent mode of education. The city of Perm has a convenient and affordable public transportation system. Buses and trams run from 5 am to midnight, and at night you can take an Uber or Yandex taxi. The tram system runs along the main road through the city, and trams run every few minutes. Buses run on a variety of routes, and they are also very convenient. The tram and bus fares are very reasonable. I prefer to cook for myself, so I buy the ingredients and make my own Indian food. There are many restaurants here that serve Russian and Italian food, but I really crave Indian food. I would like to be able to cook more Indian dishes, but it is hard to find the ingredients here. Overall, I am very satisfied with my course culture and our university's higher teaching facilities.

Tips: Perm State University is a globally recognized university under WHO affiliation and NMC guidelines. The cost of attendance is very reasonable, and the facilities are modern. The courses are challenging, but the faculty is very supportive.

Perm State Medical University has highly qualified faculty and strict academics.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should know the guidelines and the discipline that the university provides. The university is ranked globally and has about 20 hospitals where students are taken for diagnosis and treatment of patients. This helps students build their knowledge of medicine. Perm is a beautiful city in Russia, and I love living here. The people are friendly, the culture is fascinating, and the food is delicious. But as an international student, I also find life in Perm to be stressful. The language barrier is a challenge, and the pace of life is much faster than what I am used to. But the biggest challenge is the weather. The winters are long and cold, and the summers are short and hot. But despite the challenges, I am enjoying my time in Perm. The university provides all the facilities we need to complete our course, including teaching faculty, hostel facilities, transportation, and safe and good accommodation.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Permanent immigration in Russia is only possible if you stay in the country for more than 10 years. Alternatively, you can marry a Russian citizen and gain permanent residency after marriage. If you complete your MBBS degree and then pursue a postgraduate degree at our university, you will have completed the 10-year residency requirement and can apply for permanent residency under government rules.

Great college with supportive teachers.
Tips: The college is very welcoming and we have supportive faculty who help us when we are stuck during classes. But there are better options and opportunities in other countries or even India. I suggest you think about it with your free mind and then make this decision. Most of the food contains chicken or beef. If you don't eat meat, you'll have fewer options than those who do. While the university provides basic vegetables and rains that you can cook yourself, there are no Indian restaurants on campus. Public transport is good but not great. Some buses run very frequently, while others are frequent and unreliable. The bus fare is reasonable, but it is increasing. As of April, the fare will be 40 rubles per ride. Tips: Perm State Medical University is one of the best universities in Russia. It provides proper guidance and excellent teaching facilities. It is a great place to pursue MBBS, and the campus environment is very good. Public transportation in Perm, Russia, is excellent. Good option for MBBS abroad.
Tips: Smolensk State Medical University is a pretty serious college to study, so I had to get serious and put in some serious study time. If you're thinking about applying here, do not slack off, or you might not graduate. The teachers are okay, but you have to be prepared to put in time and do your own research. Self-study is a must to have a clear understanding of the concepts. Besides, it is very cold in winter. The classes start at 8 a.m. and we can easily use the public transportation. Smolensk State Medical University has very limited internship opportunities.
Tips: Firstly, check how the university was, how the campus or campus area was, whether it was habitable or not, and also look at the university's results. There's no part-time work available to students because the university wants us to focus on our studies. The university says that we don't need part-time work, as there are lots of parts to our study plans. A lot of the students disagree with this policy, but it does help us to concentrate on school. Public transportation here is good with routes to every stop and so many buses. There are also private buses that work like public transport. Hustle of college life for becoming the best doctor.
Tips: Life won't be as easy as you expect, so be mentally prepared. It's going to be like a proper Indian hostel, with all the usual politics. Cooking is your responsibility, so don't come unprepared. You came here to study, so keep that at the top of your priorities. Student life is a little difficult but it’s good at the same time as we get to learn a lot of new things, which helps the students grow better in the future. Like anywhere else, here there are college politics and hostel politics. But we will make the best memories here, so enjoy and participate in all activities, as after these five years there is no fun. Since there aren’t many options for Indians in this city, it can be tough to find items like Indian food and other basics. It’s also difficult to adjust to your new environment at first, but it gets easier once you get your bearings.

Great university with strong academics and tests fortnightly.
Tips: Before joining this college, you should be aware that you'll be living on your own in an unfamiliar city. You should also know that you may not get your scholarship money right away, so don’t panic. You'll be part of a culture change, though, so you'll have to learn how to celebrate Indian holidays. Student life is good here. Many events happen on the Indian Culture Committee, and everyone who’s interested participates. The campus also hosts a lot of quiz programmes and debate competitions, which are great for students looking to expand their vocabularies. Overall, this is a really nice school that takes your studies seriously.
Dislikes (Value for money): The teachers here are very strict, but it's because they really want us to be good doctors. The testing system is very nice because the teachers give us a moral exam. This helps the teachers weed out students who didn't study but still might manage to pass the written exam.

Smolensk State Medical University provides scholarship based on scores.
Tips: I recommend learning cooking before you come to college. No smoking or alcohol is allowed on campus, so be prepared to give that up. I've found that the students tend to grow in a positive way in this environment. We also do have scholarships. For one, there's a scholarship for 6500 dollars that’s divided among the top students at the college. We have classes from morning until evening. As a result, we're unable to work. I am primarily here to study. My parents pay for my education. I’m satisfied with this college.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation system is very good and is made up of buses, trams, and “marshutkas” which are mini-buses. Tips: There is a good environment here. I’ve never heard of any junior students complaining about ragging from a senior. Seniors are very comforting and help a lot during the course. You’ll find that some teachers are strict, while others are very friendly, but either way, the education experience here is very good. You should also know there is an initial scholarship that is taken away if you fail an exam on the first try. The hostel has a strict schedule, but there are strict rules about safety and security. The city people are very friendly and helpful. I don't feel insecure in the city's public transportation, or in public places. All the essential stores and shops are very close to the university and hostels, making life easier. Part-time work is not allowed on a student visa, so working part-time is not permitted. Tips: I had to travel to this college, and I have to admit that during my travel, I did have some concerns. But, I have found the faculty to be very friendly and approachable, and I found the staff to be just as amiable and helpful. Look out for support services, such as academic advising, mental health support, and career counselling. There are numerous events on-campus so try to participate in it. I'm happy to say that I am satisfied with both the college and the country as a whole.

It is mostly academically oriented with some fun activities.
Tips: There is a scholarship that helps to reduce the cost of attendance by 500 dollars per semester which is good. Indian culture is more prominent here because we're not in our home country. However, people are really friendly and make you feel comfortable. Public transportation is convenient and affordable. I'm satisfied with the educational quality, but there are far fewer postings and clinical experiences here than there are in India.

College is good and has strong curriculum.
Tips: All students should have basic knowledge from precollege and students should prepare mentally and physically before joining. Students are eligible for scholarships based on their grades. All the learning environment is too friendly for students and their study. There are no opportunities for study because MBBS is a vast and difficult subject. Therefore, we don't have opportunities available for a part-time job. There are too many difficult subjects that can't be handled together with study. The faculty members are highly qualified and demonstrate very good intentions and personal observations toward you. Additionally, the faculty are very friendly and will help you with any problem you encounter. They are also helpful and willing to give personal attention. With all of this, it is no wonder the college has a very good track record of successful results for its graduates. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my experiences.

The university only focuses on academics. There are no events or extracurriculars.
Tips: After entering the university, it doesn't feel like we are in Russia because there are a lot of Indian students here, and the Russian people are very friendly. Scholarships are available up to 8 lakhs per year, which can be split among the top students. Public transportation in Smolensk is very affordable, and there are many options available. The buses and trams run on time, and the roads are clean and well-maintained. Taxis are also available at a reasonable price. There is no opportunity for part-time work at this university. The university does not allow students to work part-time because the MBBS degree has a vast portion that students cannot complete if they are working part-time. The university keeps a close eye on students to ensure that they focus only on their studies. Overall, I am satisfied with my university.

Smolesnk State Medical University does not allow us to work part-time.
Tips: One of the most challenging things about attending Smolensk State Medical University is the transition. There is a lot to get used to after coming here from so far away. We have to adjust a lot of things as we leave our comfort zones. In particular, we must adjust to a new food culture, a new family experience, and a new living environment. However, we have scholarships available here at the university for those who work hard enough to get top marks. The university provides one full year’s tuition for the top student and half that for the second-place student. The faculty at my university is really good. There are many good faculty for foreign students. The faculty can speak English very well, and it's helpful to understand them and their teaching style. They are very supportive, easily accessible and approachable. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are lots of part-time jobs available. But the University doesn't allow us to work because we're on student visas. This is good for us, as there's a lot to study for our MBBS program, and we don't have a lot of free time. We're not bothered by that since our main focus is on studying, which we're doing well.

Smolensk state Medical University is best it is the Opportunity to take Admission
Tips: First, check out the university campus and the accommodations, both on and off campus. Try to connect with your seniors and ask them about the course, internship and college. Try to bring warm clothes as it can be very cold during winter. There is no opportunity to work in the city, and the university doesn't allow students to work part-time. This is because this is a medical degree, and the portion is so vast that students cannot complete it if they are working part-time. Overall, I am satisfied with the course and the country.
Likes (Internships): There are lots of practices in universities and hospitals, students can handle a wide range of patients, including those with tuberculosis and lung fibrosis. X-rays are readily available, and medical facilities are excellent, with all medications being affordable at some hospitals. All doctors are careful and well-trained.

Smolensk State Medical University provides numerous internship opportunities.
Tips: It is difficult to survive in Russia at first because of the could climate. However, after two or three months you will get used to it. Other things are normal. You should bring cooking materials like masala and some utensils like a cooker and pan. The university does not allow students to work part-time, which is good because the MBBS course loads is very heavy. The university wants students to focus on their studies and not waste time working. Smolensk has excellent public transportation. There are electric buses, trams, taxi, and marshutkas. You can also rent a car if you have an international driver's license. Traffic is light compared to India, and the signal system is very good, so there are few accidents. Overall, it is a mini India as there are many Indian students in the university.

Unconventional medical university.
Tips: My experience at this university has been a mixed bag. While I'm satisfied with the academic aspects of my program, I've been disappointed with the living conditions and food options. The food in the hostel cafeteria is terrible, and the accommodations are not up to par. On the other hand, the university apartments are modern, well-maintained, and provide a comfortable living space. I'm excited about the prospect of becoming a doctor and making a positive impact on people's lives. While I'm satisfied with my decision to study here, I do sometimes wonder if I could have chosen a different country, such as Georgia, which is also known for its medical programs.
Likes (Safety): Safety and security are paramount concerns for students, particularly women when choosing a university. I am pleased to report that my university takes the safety and well-being of its students very seriously. The hostel rules are strict, ensuring a secure and comfortable living environment for all residents. From my personal experience, I can confidently say that the university is a safe haven for women. I have not faced any difficulties or concerns regarding my safety since joining the university. The university's emphasis on security was a key factor in my decision to enroll here. The university's commitment to safety is evident in its robust security measures, which include 24/7 surveillance, secure entry and exit points, and a dedicated security team. These measures provide students with a sense of security and peace of mind, allowing them to focus on their academic pursuits without worrying about their safety.
Dislikes (Part time work): The availability of part-time jobs is a crucial aspect for students to consider when pursuing higher education. Unfortunately, on-campus part-time jobs are scarce, leaving students with no option but to explore off-campus opportunities. Off-campus part-time jobs can be found in various industries, such as retail, hospitality, food service, and more. However, these opportunities often require students to commute, which can be time-consuming and exhausting. To manage both part-time work and academics, multitasking is essential. Students must be able to prioritize their tasks, manage their time effectively, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. This can be challenging, but it is crucial for academic success and personal well-being. In terms of compensation, the average weekly payout for part-time work is approximately 3,000 rubles, with a maximum of around 3,500 rubles. While this may not be a substantial amount, it can help students cover some of their living expenses and gain valuable work experience.

A place worth living and a degree worth achieving.
Tips: Students should know that it is a long journey, and it is not easy but yes, definitely worth it. There is obviously a transition that suddenly occurs but after spending these many years here, it definitely feels like home. You do get a yearly scholarship here if you score full marks in each subject. I'm satisfied with my choice, in fact, happy to choose this country over others.
Likes (Safety): I feel safe and secure at Smolensk State Medical University. The city is peaceful, and the university and hostel rules that every student must follow contribute to the safety of the campus. Security is a major consideration when choosing a place to study, and Smolensk is a great choice.
Dislikes (Part time work): Students are not allowed to work part-time while studying at Smolensk State Medical University. The university believes that MBBS is a difficult course and does not have any workload. However, if the university had permitted part-time work, everyone would have chosen to do so.

It is an amazing place where we will grow professionally.
Tips: The college is amazing with very good faculty for every subject. The faculty members are well-trained in their respective fields and are more than equipped with knowledge for teaching us. I would suggest students not to have too many expectations, but it will be a good experience working with them.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation is well-connected and affordable. Trams, trolleybuses, and marshrutkas provide service, and the routes are well-connected and on time. The system is also easy to track on maps. The people in the city are friendly and will help you find your way if you need to go somewhere. There are also resting stations available.
Dislikes (Indian Food): We used to cook for ourselves because it was more affordable and cheaper than eating out. There were some Indian restaurants, but they were not good enough to eat at every day. The groceries are available at affordable prices, and in the hostels, cooking gas is free and shared by everyone. So we could easily make our own food.
