City with lots of Indian food.
Tips: After coming here to the UK I have seen certain changes in myself. I have become more independent and more disciplined. I availed myself of a scholarship of £3000 from Queen Mary University. Indian food is available everywhere in the United Kingdom. Especially in London. London is a hub of Indian food, whether it's Central London, East London, North London or South London. You will find it everywhere in London. Food quality is great. I prefer cooking myself, but on weekends I prefer to go out and eat. The price is quite convincing like Masala Dosa costs 6 pounds and Samosa 5 pounds.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Permanent immigration settlement options currently inthe UK are not worth it, according to me, because of the atmosphere and because of the to be honest, radical and extremist, religious atmosphere that has been spread here. Muslim countries such as UAE have banned their students from studying in the UK because they feel it's unsafe for their students, as they might get in contact with the extremist people here.

Great classroom teaching in expensive city.
Tips: Queen Mary University is part of the prestigious Russell Group, which sets a high standard for the quality of education and quality of illumination and peers that you get there, so you can expect a class culture around you. I received a scholarship of 3000. That was based on my graduation marks.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The quality of faculty at QMUL is unparalleled, especially the simulations and the case studies that we get to attempt in the classroom. This is something that makes UK universities unique in terms of education.
Dislikes (Public transportation): I wouldn't say that public transport here in the UK is not well-connected or convenient but I'll say that it's on the expensive side. If you are the one who loves to travel, then it will be quite harsh on your pockets. It's not convenient for a student to spend at least 10,000 per month, just for mere transportation.

Increasing crimes – think before coming.
Tips: The transition was not that smooth as I was not used to living alone and cooking. It was very challenging for me. I did a scholarship of 4000 from Queen's University of London. That was their online application that I filled out. Overall, I am satisfied with the university.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation because of its connectivity and always being on time, deserves a five star. London consists of bus train over ground underground Railways national Railways which run across London and across the UK. Even the train runs from London to Paris, London to Edinburgh as well. London has an international train station as well.
Dislikes (Safety): There have been many incidents of theft, stabbing and whatnot, especially in the shady areas and phone snatching is very common in Central London. London is no longer what it used to be. It has low space charm; people cannot work freely on the streets of London.

Very expensive city, full of illegal immigrants.
Tips: London can be quite harsh on the pockets as it is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Everything here is expensive. 500 ML of water bottle will cost you around 1.25. That is nearly 150 INR. Buses as well, they are expensive for transportation and rent is one of the top two expenses which makes life difficult in London.
Likes (Public transportation): If you are exempt from transportation fees, which are on the higher side, the connectivity and the reachability of London transport is top notch, whether it is train, underground, overground, National Railways or buses. Everything provides a much more connected network if you compare it with the transport of other big cities.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The UK government want to combat immigrants by ignoring the illegal immigrants and by focusing on the students who have come to their country with a valid visa and by giving a huge bunch of money, they are making it difficult for the new students as they have cut the PSW from 24 months to 18 months and have increased it. The minimum wage required for sponsorship.

Russell group legacy and London life.
Tips: Before joining Queen Mary University, one should know that the university is situated in the eastern part of London. It has not one but multiple campuses. My primary campus was London but I had several classes in Lincoln's Inn as well. Very beautiful, neat and tidy, which gives you a reflection of British history as well.
Likes (Part time work): Work here in London can be a challenging task but I got my part-time job through Queen University job portals, where part-time jobs near me were released and I applied for them directly from the portals and got three job offers and finally accepted an MS customer assistant, which paid me 14 per hour and I worked for 20 hours a week which covered my expenses.
Dislikes (Safety): London has a high crime rate that is increasing by the year. Thefts during broad daylight are very common in Central London. Even though it's written as a warning in central London to take care of your phones as they can be snatched at any time, the worst part is that you can't catch or have a fight with the snatcher.

Tips: Before joining, keep in mind that Mary has its own accommodation. The accommodation has a very high rent, so I would advise taking accommodation a little further from the university, so it will not cost you much more. The quality of the faculty is top-notch. They are accessible to an average student physically as well. You can approach them and meet them physically. Otherwise, you can message them on MS Teams where they are available and they respond quickly with a solution that is very practical and related to the real world.

Great country for studies, but safety is a concern.
Tips: Before coming to London, one should keep in mind that London is no longer the city that it used to be. There is a huge search in the number of crimes and thefts I have experienced. This is because you'll find use number of immigrants from Middle East countries in London, you'll find more refugee immigrants than the English people themselves in the street and it is one of the main reasons for the increased crime in the city.
Likes (Student Life): The university has beautiful infrastructure, one class faculty members, wealth, class campus, and the best standard alumni network, it's not much talked about, but QMUL has one of the best networks.
Dislikes (Safety): The universities pretty much safe and it has got all the security gates at every turn. It's for London city, which used to be a hub for everything related to business management and technology is no longer a safe place. There are certain areas in London city which are advised by the citizens to know how to travel alone at night or in the evening. There has been a significant increase in the number of crimes, that is, stabbing, snatching and all that, in recent days.

The cultural shift that I faced after coming here whose that things here were super expensive, especially the rent. Likes (Quality of faculty): The quality of faculty, Queen Mary University of London is just top notch, their methodology and teaching style provide you full value for money and especially the VA. They encourage you to think about a problem. Iz tremendously amazing. The faculty is fully approachable and there are a lot of facilities from various corners of the world.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): This is because of the recent conditions in the taken place here in the United Kingdom. It is very difficult to find post study just after graduation, especially when you don't have experience of more than two years in the field.

Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The economy hasn't performed well due to which the taxation here is now so high also for the immigrants, permanent settlement, that is, ILR five years is not considered and might increase it to 10 years.

Tips: Before coming to London, one must know that London is a big city, which is divided into several zones, each zone feels like a different city. Likes (Indian Food): London has a large number of Indian restaurants. Not only Indian London have food from all around the world, whether it's Brazilian, Nepali, Thai, Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese, Pakistani, Israeli, and whatnot. It has all the world's food.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I have two stars out of five for permanent immigration settlement here in the United Kingdom. This is because of the new laws introduced by the government of UK. There are no new laws that are non-viable to these students who have just come here. Students who will be applying for PSW after 1 January 2027 will be getting a Psw for only 18 months instead of 24.

Pedestrians are given preference by the car drivers every time and are treated with respect. You will find that most of the people here prefer to work and use public transport.
Likes (Public transportation): London is well connected via bus, underground, overground national railways. Every part of London is connected together. The bus offers a flat fare of 1.75 for one hour, in which you can tap in multiple times, and you won't be charged more than 1.75 in that one hour.

Likes (Value for money): World-class infrastructure and top notch faculty members. The teaching system in QMUL is perfectly organised and meets the world class standards and it is a group university. It has all the amenities and facilities that one could ask for from world class buildings to super-class computer labs.
Dislikes (Safety): London city was known for its people, culture and sophistication, is now taken over by thieves and snatchers especially in Central London. It is completely unsafe to take out phones and it is advised and written on the roads as well. Do not take out your mobile phones as you are vulnerable to the snatchers.

Tips: Before coming to London, students must know that there is a difference of four hours and 30 minutes between India's time as compared to London's time, which increases to 5hr 30 minutes during the winter season. The winter season is extremely depressing at sunset during the afternoon, which is 3 PM. You'll see dark skies, gloomy skies at 4 PM in the winter.
Likes (Indian Food): I have written five star out of five for the food options available here in London. Many Indian restaurants. I would say numerous number of Indian restaurants are available here in London International chain like Saravana Bhawan, Ananda Bhawan and also first branch of Bikaner wala has also opened in London. There are multiple varieties of Indian food available that is accessible and available to students very easily.
Dislikes (Safety): Because of the recent incident that has taken place in London city multiple stabbing cases and multiple snatching cases have been reported which is concerning and alarming for an international student like me. London was known for its safety and British culture, which no longer seems to exist here in London, to be honest.

Likes (Quality of faculty): The quality of faculty, especially talking about the business school, is one of the best faculty members themselves, who hold some experience in some kind of entrepreneurship, and they themselves are the graduates of world class top universities like Howard University, Oxford University, and Michigan University.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Average two stars for the permanent immigration settlement option here in the United Kingdom. This is because of the laws introduced by the UK government. These new laws, one of which is that the PSW post study work visa tenure has been reduced from 24 months to 18 months for the upcoming January intake, that is, 2027.
