MS in Healthcare Informatics - Batch of 2027
4.0
Comprehensive industry, limited opportunities.
Tips: My program allows me to pursue a specific but comprehensive industry, working in healthcare, insurance, and IT. The people here are friendly and helpful, and the professors are equally engaged. You'll need patience and an open mind. Try to be active and try to socialise with people. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with my experiences here.

Strong and friendly community.
Tips: The courses are practical and relevant to the industry. Job preparation is well conducted, there is room for improvement in research facilities. The people are friendly, and the small class sizes allow for ample interaction with professors. Scholarships are attainable with a timely application and a strong resume.

My college is the place to learn and to grow
Tips: I didn't face any transition when I came here as I can see more people from my country. I didn't receive any scholarship when I applied for this college. I am completely satisfied with the university as it has a very good faculty and also they especially take care of Indian students. In terms of public transportation, there are so many buses to travel around the campus and also college buses are provided.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I don't see any options to get into permanent immigration/settlement options as we are not allowed to stay there.

University is worth the money we pay
Tips: Course duration is 15 months only and there was no cpt until last semester. The college is fun with super cool infrastructure. Most of the part time work available in college has heavy competition so getting it is a bit tough unless you have good rapport with advisor of the course.
Likes (Student Life): College infrastructure and the curriculum is good. I really enjoy in the college. I feel its worth the money compared to the other universities nearby. I think the best thing about the college is the friendly nature and the vibe we get from the environment.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Permanent settlement is directly dependent on student’s profile and their career and luck for H1. So I cannot say that there is permanent settlement on this university. Given that you are the best in academics would definitely fetch you best results and grades in the university.

Sacred heart university made me realize why I should come to college everyday.
Tips: Just email the professors before coming here and have a conversation about what you’re interested in. Make sure to take time to habituate to the culture slowly. Try not to stress yourself over everything all at once. Take time and relax. Make sure to come to USA at-least a couple of weeks before classes.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The professors are really experienced and they help us a lot in learning the subject, I really love the way they teach in class. Their educational practices are really worth practicing. They focus on making us learn things rather than teaching us only for grades, which is kind of awesome to me.
Dislikes (Safety): I want to be very honest and let people know that some places like Bridgeport are scary and really dangerous. I suggest people live in Fairfield, Trumbull and many other places around the university but not Bridgeport. I am not saying it is a dangerous place but every place in USA needs some safety guidance. Indian food restaurants like Barossa and tasty halal can make your day.

Everything is good for those who don't know about anything but they can get to know
Tips: Real-life experience provides a key connection between theoretical study and career development since it constitutes one of the essential ingredients in gaining employment from reputable companies. Most potential employers fail to consider many applicants due to a lack of practical experience. It is therefore important that the students are exposed to internships and practical industry projects so as to increase their chances of becoming employable. Practical exposure in professional environments allows the students to apply theoretical concepts acquired in class in real-world projects.
Likes (Public transportation): Real-world experience becomes the important connection between the theory received at the university and the building of a successful career, thus becoming the important part for the access to good companies. The main reason for not being hired by the employer is the absence of relevant experience, thus making internships and other practical experience the valuable way to get the job. Communication with the professional environment allows the students to implement their theoretical knowledge that they receive during lectures and classes into practice, developing hard and soft skills and understanding the process of work.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Experience acts as a link between theoretical knowledge acquired through classroom training and performance in actual work practice, and at the same time, one of the standards for being part of top organizations. Normally, the employers do not accept the candidates because of the absence of experience. Therefore, it is necessary for the students to get involved in internship and projects so that they can gain experience and be useful members of organizations. With experience, the students are able to utilize their theoretical knowledge in real-life projects and acquire different skills.

Great college and great experience.
Tips: It's gonna be a cultural reset but it's gonna be fun joining different club events and also the faculty members are very helpful to your needs. The people around you, be it the students or the members, are gonna motivate you to strive harder and harder each day.
Likes (Internships): I have a great connection here for my internship search through college career fest and other supporting alumni groups that guide us through the process and help us bag an internship, end of the day so getting an internship is gonna be easy, keeping you put in the work for it.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Keeping the current government situation in mind I don't feel a permanent settlement here is gonna be easy. The visa situation is pretty bad when it comes to the H1B so not sure how things are going to turn out. But still the OPT of three years are well enough to get your ROI.

Stevens Institute of Technology is good and helps us to be career focused.
Tips: Before joining Steven's students should know that it is academically rigorous with its strong focus on STEM and business. Its proximity to New York City offers great career opportunities but the cultural shift can be noticeable scholarships are competitive, and the career services are excellent. The faculty are very knowledgeable and will help you with anything. There are lots of seminars held on our college campus to explore our potential and make connections.

Good return on investment.
Tips: This course is little expensive than others but could cover this cost of post graduation with a competing job. You must be proactive in searching for jobs if you are going for Cybersecurity degree since they do a different and difficult recruiting process for it. Overall it is a good college.
Likes (Safety): It is a very safe locality with cops patrolling 24/7 around campus, there is a separate police and emergency line for the students, and they are available and very helpful when in need, which I experienced first hand. There are also safety drills conducted.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are very few openings on part time since it is a small campus they do not recruit many students and our cost of living here is very expensive. So it is a little frustrating as I am in my 2nd year and still did not get any part time in the University.

A transformative financial journey with real world exposure.
Tips: Coming from India to New York City was a real culture shock, but Stevens made the transition a lot smoother than it might have been. The emphasis on participation and independence was a real shift from how classes were done back home, but it helped me grow and adapt more quickly. I’m glad I was able to study there, and I'm particularly grateful for the program’s fast pace and industry focus, the course faculty, and all the opportunities I had to be exposed to the city. The MSM Finance program is ideal for those who want to dive deep into a specific field.
