State-of-the-Art Facilities and Hands-On Experience
Tips: Moving out to Germany means getting hit with a massive culture shock right out of the gate, especially when you're trying to navigate the language barrier, the completely different food and how locals interact. But honestly, once you're inside the TU Chemnitz campus, it gets way easier because there’s a huge, incredibly active community of Indian students who genuinely look out for the newbies and help you settle in. There’s always stuff happening with different student clubs and cultural fests where you can volunteer, get involved, and meet people from all over the place. On the money side, if you knuckle down and keep your grades sharp—we’re talking landing a solid 1.3 to 1.6 in the German system—you can actually grab some decent scholarships. The university itself hands out funding that’s worth around 600 euros a month for a full year, plus you can always look into extra grants through DAAD to help cover your living costs.
Likes (Internships): The master's program is designed in a way with a mandatory internship. So it's very easy to apply for an internship all around Germany without any hurdles. Also, your German-speaking skills and previous work experience play a major role, along with your network. Also, you will be well paid during the internship and end up securing a full-time job in the same company where you do the internship and thesis.
Dislikes (Part time work): Chemnitz is a small town in the state of Saxony, and part-time job opportunities are very limited on campus. You can find off-campus jobs quite easily in Dresden and Leipzig, but you have to travel at least 1 hour. If you can speak German up to the B1 level, you can easily find part-time jobs in Chemnitz with good pay.

Excellent university to study
Tips: If you're looking into joining Chemnitz University of Technology, there are a couple of major things you should keep on your radar. First, when it comes to funding, you can absolutely land a scholarship here—I actually managed to secure one after my first semester. You don't need to stress about hunting it down blindly either; the university will directly shoot you an email with instructions on how to apply. It works out to about 300 euros, which gives you a really nice, much-needed financial cushion for daily student life.
As for the academics, the course structure here is solid. One of the best parts about studying at TU Chemnitz is that they bake a mandatory internship right into the curriculum. Because you're required to get that real-world experience, it creates a super smooth domino effect: you can easily turn your internship project into your Master's thesis topic, which very often rolls right into a full-time job offer after graduation. It completely takes the guesswork out of building a career path in Germany.

Chemnitz has good environment to live, you have to make the best of it.
Tips: You may experience a cultural shift in the form of language and festivities. The transition will not be too difficult. In terms of food, there are options to get Indian groceries in Chemnitz. I did get a scholarship for a year called Deutschlandstipendium. The monthly allowance was 300 euros. The course and University have a lot of resources and it totally depends on how you make the best use of it.

A Great Learning Experience in Germany
Tips: If you're planning on heading to TU Chemnitz, your absolute number one priority should be picking up at least some basic German before you arrive. While you can get through your actual classes just fine using English, the reality check hits when you start looking for internships or full-time jobs after graduation—that's when German becomes a massive deal. Personally, my transition moving over to Germany went really smoothly. While I was studying, I actually managed to land the DAAD STIBET I scholarship, which was a huge help. You should definitely make it a habit to constantly check the student portal for funding options, especially things like the Deutschlandstepindeium and the Georgius Agricola scholarship. At the end of the day, I’ve been really happy with the university and my specific course. Germany has turned out to be an amazing spot, not just for the high-quality research and education, but also just for growing as a person.

Technical University of Chemnitz has a very good reputation in Germany.
Tips: The Technical University of Chemnitz is basically a good university. If, we are discussing the Advanced Manufacturing course, then it's too versatile, which is a diverse case of its specialisation courses. These modules help you to understand and work on your area of interest.
Likes (Value for money): From a living standard and financial perspective, Chemnitz is an excellent place to live, especially for students. As the third largest city in the state of Saxony, it is well developed, while still maintaining a lower cost of living than bigger cities.

Overall, it's a good experience.
Tips: Make sure you can handle the job pressure with your study and also have to learn German language it's very important. Job is easy to find if you know German language. Make sure you have enough language skills and try to get in contact with professors.
Likes (Value for money): Hardly, I am spending 500 euro per month in Chemnitz, Germany all things included as compared to other cities. It's the cheapest and best city for students. The traveling is free and some great cities like Dresden, liepzig are near to Chemnitz and it's easy to find job there.
Dislikes (Indian Food): For vegetarians, there are very limited options for food. All things like pizza have two or three options for vegetarians. McDonald's only serves non veg burger, etc. For spices also it is very expensive and everytime you have to search for Indian stores to buy some things which are usually expensive.

Good student life but shortage of future opportunities.
Tips: You must know that Kaiserslautern is a small city. Tech part time jobs are less here. This can affect you. I received an Erasmus Mundus scholarship from Erasmus as part of the European Union Consortium. I received 1000 euros per month as an allowance. There is another scholarship you can apply for after you come here, which is the DAAD. Gives around 350 euros per month. Not majorly satisfied with the University. Administration work is very lengthy. Teaching is average.
Likes (Value for money): Kaiserslautern is a small city. Living expenses come around to 650-850 euros per month for a single person, including rent. For a student at RPTU, that's a good thing. You get free public transport along with other benefits of being a student. Part time jobs are fairly available but you have to look hard for them. It might take a month or two to find.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are many companies available to sponsor. The job opportunities are relatively less as compared to the past 4 years. The competition has increased as the number of people coming to Germany has increased. After Master's, one can expect a salary starting from 50,000 - 65,000 Euros.

A great place for learning and personal growth.
Tips: The university emphasises independent learning, time management and active participation, so being active is important for success. My transition was smooth, though there was an initial cultural shift in terms of teaching style, communication, and lifestyle which became comfortable with time. I am very satisfied with the university and the course.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Professors are highly qualified experienced and consistently deliver high quality teaching with a strong balance of theory and practical application. The faculty is very approachable and accessible through office hours and emails and they actively support students with academic projects research and career guidance.
