Provides a good sense of belonging here.
Tips: I was apprehensive before I got here but because of how supportive the environment was and because of the resources employed for international students, it became a lot easier to find my place. The faculty is well-versed in their courses and they push you to explore your potential and think in a critical manner which has taught me many valuable lessons and experiences. In case you need any assistance, there are student communities that are quick to help. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

The faculty and staff are very friendly and approachable. However, registration and currency conversion can be challenging. Overall, it's an enjoyable experience.

University of California has provided a great experience so far with amazing faculty.
Tips: For me, studying here at UCSB has been a major change in my life and an experience that has also transformed me. I had some culture shock when I came here and was initially a little nervous but I also noticed that the student services and peer mentors made a big difference in helping me settle in. Overall, it has been a good experience for me so far.

Had a good time here with great faculty.
Tips: I have had a fulfilling experience at UCSB. I've learned a lot and grown a lot as a person. Before you start your classes, get an idea of where they are located and who your professors are. Ask your guidance counselors about them. They can give you a good idea of what to expect and how to prepare.
Likes (Quality of faculty): I've had a good experience at UCSB. The professors and faculty are very approachable and understanding when you have concerns or significant issues. I've seen Indian-origin professors and professors from other ethnicities as well. I've had mainly positive experiences with them as they are happy to help.

Very accepting campus and culture.
Tips: I have learned a lot from my time here in California. Studying here has made me realise that a lot of learning can take place outside classrooms as well. This prompted me to participate in sports and extracurriculars such as cultural events. All in all, I have had a pleasant and positive experience.

Very innovative and creative space to grow.
Tips: One of the first things to know about studying at UCSB is that the workloads and the courses can be very intense and because of the concept of relative grading followed in classes, it is extremely competitive as well. There are also a number of resources for students to help them out such as peer tutoring, mentoring, and office hours. Other than academics, there are a number of social mixers and clubs for students to socialize.

MS in Earth Science - Batch of 2025

Very accommodating and welcoming campus.
Tips: I have experienced both good and stressful experiences here in college. The classes can be academically rigorous but there are plenty of activities outside the classroom as well. The campus of UCSB is breathtaking and the outdoors are very inviting hence activities like trekking, hiking and volleyball are popular among students to unwind after a long day. Finally, I would suggest that before you reach campus, figure out your accommodation preference and sign up for a meal plan if you plan on staying within campus most of the time.
Likes (Safety): I have personally found the campus to be super safe and comfortable for me as there is more than adequate security and the students are very united and helpful. It is more unsafe outside of campus especially concerning theft and robbery and more.

Tips: My experience at UCSB has been very unique and has taught me a lot. There was a culture shift when I first arrived, but the transition was seamless because of the student services and my batchmates. I joined two cultural groups to feel more engaged in my community and extracurriculars. The sports facilities are truly exceptional as well.

Tips: One of the first things that I have noticed here is the vast amount of diversity in the student body and faculty as well. Been a peaceful experience.
Tips: I have had a fairly comfortable time adjusting here as the students are quite friendly and accommodating. If you are planning to stay out of campus, then make sure it's within walking distance as transport can become tricky because of the limited on-campus parking. The courseload is challenging so attend office hours and ask your professors for help whenever needed.

It is a great place to learn.
Tips: I've really enjoyed my time at this university. I've been able to pursue my interests and develop my strengths. The location is a big plus, too. There's lots of outdoor space to explore. Just remember to limit your consumption of outside food, since it's a lot more expensive in California than in other places. But overall, I'm really happy with my experience here.

It has been a very valuable experience for me with great faculty to guide me throughout.
Tips: I have transitioned positively after coming here. The campus is beautiful and has a lot of scenic views. The academic environment is quite rigorous and there is a lot of emphasis on research. Registration is much simpler than other colleges and you are encouraged to seek help if needed. UCSB has the most electric and energetic environment you can think of. The campus is perpetually in a state of excitement and there is always an event, a game or a club activity to do where people are very welcoming. I've personally enjoyed the adventure clubs as well as Scuba.

M.S in Environmental Science - Batch of 2027
Offered by Southeast Missouri State University
4.5
Supportive learning environment with great value for environmental science students.
Tips: Students should know that Southeast Missouri State University offers a supportive academic environment with approachable professors and diverse learning resources. However, international students should be prepared for a quieter campus life, especially in a small-town setting. It's important to research housing, cost of living, and funding opportunities beforehand. The transition was smooth academically, but there was a cultural shift in terms of communication style and classroom interaction. The culture here emphasises independence and open discussion, which may feel different at first. Over time, I adapted well by participating in campus activities and making friends from various backgrounds. I received a merit-based international student scholarship. It was awarded based on my undergraduate GPA and application profile. The scholarship covered a portion of my tuition fee, reducing my financial burden significantly. I'm quite satisfied overall. The university provides a solid academic foundation, the Environmental Science programme is well-structured, and the U. S. offers a wide range of opportunities for practical learning and research. While there are challenges, especially financially, the overall experience has been rewarding.
Likes (Internships): The university provides strong support for internship opportunities, especially through faculty guidance and the career services centre. Professors are approachable and often connect students with real-world projects or external organisations. There is plenty of guidance available. Faculty members and academic advisors actively help students identify suitable internships. The career centre regularly hosts workshops, resume clinics, and networking events that prepare students for internship applications. The internships offered are highly relevant to Environmental Science. Students get opportunities to work with environmental agencies, research labs, conservation groups, and local government projects that align with their coursework and research interests.
Dislikes (Value for money): Southeast Missouri State University offers a good quality education in Environmental Science at a relatively affordable tuition rate compared to many other U. S. universities. The coursework is relevant, and the faculty is supportive, especially for international students. However, limited scholarship or assistantship opportunities slightly reduce the overall value proposition. The tuition fee is mostly justified. The MS in Environment Science programme provides practical exposure, access to research facilities, and career-oriented learning. The curriculum is well-structured to match current environmental challenges, which adds to the course's long-term value. Still, offering more financial aid would make it even more attractive and accessible.

MS in Nutrition and Exercise Science - Batch of 2024
Offered by Southeast Missouri State University
3.1
Great environment and friendly faculty.
Tips: Before joining university, students should be aware of several key aspects to help them transition smoothly and succeed academically and personally. University life requires balancing classes, assignments, extracurricular activities, and possibly part-time work. Good time management is essential. Understanding budgeting, managing expenses, and possibly handling student loan or part-time job income is important. Familiarity with academic writing, plagiarism policies, and research methods is crucial. Grading differs from previous education systems.
Likes (Public transportation): There is free public transportation in Cape Girardeau, MO. The buses run from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, making hourly stops at designated locations. The service areas include residential areas, shopping centres, and the local hospital. The service is suspended on major holidays or during hazardous conditions.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): There is limited U. S. work or education history and a lack of U. S. sponsor employers or family. Applicants do not qualify for special categories like EB-1 for extraordinary ability, and there are limited immigration points under merit-based systems if assessed that way. There is a lack of job offers and advanced qualifications in high-demand fields.

Exploring opportunities.
Tips: Students can be prepared for a potential cultural shift especially if they are coming from a different country or region. It's essential to be open-minded and adaptable to new experiences, cultures and perspectives.
Likes (Safety): I rated safety at Southeast Missouri state university with a 5.
Apart from campus security the universe likely provides resources such as emergency call boxes, well-lit pathways and safety escorts to ensure students' safety on campus with many programs.
Dislikes (Part time work): Not many on-campus part-time jobs are available. While there are some opportunities available on campus, the variety and number of positions may be limited. Balancing part-time with academics can be challenging for some students due to scheduling conflicts.

Good place to study and stay
Tips: Before coming here I would suggest getting to know about coursework and I will also suggest doing some projects in university. The university provides $1000 scholarship per year. My college is very friendly and liberal. The staff are friendly. Would recommend people.
Tips: I did not personally experience any cultural shift. But I have seen people transition a lot after coming to US in general. I Got international student scholarship, every international student gets one. It gets added to your student account, 1000$ each semester. I am satisfied with my overall experience.
Likes (Safety): The campus area is safer, if you choose to live nearby it is safe, as there are police almost all the time. The facilities on campus are good too. I personally do not have any bad experiences in the city as I lived for only 3 months in the beginning and then shifted to another place.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There is no Indian restaurants available in the locality. So there is no option for Indian food. Although there is a place like 2hrs from there which is called St. louis. There you can find plenty of Indian food and restaurants. I prefer cooking for myself.
