Our college is decent and teachers are so kind.
Tips: The university is located in a nice town and is the best place to study if you have plans to get a license from another country. I found my experience very relaxed. Ulyanovsk State is an easygoing college. The campus is scattered, however, and the public transport here is not great. If you're vegetarian and coming from India, you might have trouble finding suitable food options here in Russia. Most of the population doesn't eat vegetarian, so the market mainly sell fish, meant, and pork. Burger King and KFC are available, but they don't have many vegetarian options. You might have to do some shopping to find the vegetarian food you need. Then, you can cook yourself. However, if you want a cheap option and want to be somewhere lively, this is the place for you.
Likes (Part time work): There's a good scope of part-time jobs here in Ulyanovsk. Students are given a permit through the university in which they can work off campus. Most of the students prefer doing jobs at car factories during their summer break. Some work at a read factor, so basically Ulyanovsk is an industrial town with many industries you can work in. There are also delivery services and taxi services you can work with, people earn a handsome amount while working off campus, and one of my friends works with a food delivery partner. He easily makes 90k rubles a month, which is more than enough for your food, rent, and groceries. You can always look up jobs at avito.ru as well, the market is always open.

Ulyanovsk State University has highly qualified and friendly faculty.
Tips: Russia has a very cold and hilly climate, which I love. It also has a very different culture than my home country. If you do well in your studies and get good marks, you can get a scholarship. The university is easy to access because it provides a student ID that allows access to the campus. The teaching methodology is convenient because English is used for instruction, and the professors are very approachable. The anatomy department has a lot of interesting biological specimens. There are no Indian restaurants here, only Russian restaurants. You can cook your own food, but you will need to bring your own Indian spices. Russian food is very different from Indian food, so I suggest you cook your own meals. The university campus is very eco-friendly, and I am very grateful to have been able to study MBBS here.

Ulyanovsk State University has a wide campus with many activities happening simultaneously.
Tips: There are usually some difficulties in the first few months after coming from India. However, the people here are very nice and helpful, and they care about us because they know that we are from another country. The faculty are highly talented and expert in their field so don't hesitate to reach out to them in case of any queries. In Ulyanovsk, you can find any bus, tram, or shuttle you need. The transportation is very reliable and affordable, and I never experienced any delays. There are no Indian restaurants in Ulyanovsk. For vegetarians like me, it is very difficult to survive because there are only two things we can eat outside: shwarma and pizza, and there is only one variety of pizzas available. I am highly satisfied with the course and the university.

Ulyanovsk State University is good for balancing between studies and extracurriculars.
Tips: Students should know that studying at this university is not easy, but it is not that difficult either. However, the winters are very cold, with temperatures reaching -30 degrees Celsius. So, be prepared for that and bring a good quality jacket. Public transportation is very slow and unreliable. Sometimes I have to wait 30 minutes to an hour for a bus or train. I really need a car, but the rules are very strict, and taxis are too expensive. For a 3-kilometer ride, the fare is more than 250 rubles, and in the morning it can be more than 300 rubles.
Likes (Part time work): It's a good opportunity for students to get a 2-3 month job and earn 70k+. You do need to learn the local language for everyday jobs, but it's worth it. Last year I earned 75k from a 2-month job.

The university is average and the faculty does not seem interested in teaching.
Tips: Students should know that they need to do more self-study, spend more time preparing for class, and learn the local language. Also, there are no scholarship options for foreign students, only for locals. The hospital's knowledge is good, and the staff is good at coping with our language barrier. The patients are good as well. However, there aren't many interesting cases in our city. I like the hospital's ambience, but they don't teach much about clinical knowledge.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty are unbothered and do not care about us. They are also careless at times. Even if we read the material, they will not listen to us. They use their phones during class and do not explain anything properly. They do not impart any knowledge and show favouritism to certain students.

Ulyanovsk State University has a vibrant and friendly campus.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should know that they need to stay flexible and adapt to new environments, people, and situations. They should also respect diversity and embrace cultural differences. Students should also check the criteria, deadlines, and application requirements to ensure their eligibility. The allowance varies depending on scholarships. Students should attend orientation sessions to familiarize themselves with campus resources. They should also network with peers, professors, and alumni. Students should also manage their time effectively to balance academics, extracurricular activities, and personal life. Students should also be open-minded, respectful, and patient when adapting to a new culture. Finally, students should not hesitate to ask for assistance from professors, advisors, or counseling services.
Dislikes (Part time work): I feel a sense of belonging in the campus community, which is diverse and inclusive. There are a variety of extracurricular activities, clubs, and organizations to choose from. Support services, including counselling, academic advising, and career guidance, are easily accessible. The campus has high-quality facilities, libraries, and technology resources. Opportunities for student engagement, including leadership, volunteer, and socialization activities, are readily available. The campus is safe and accessible, with a pleasant surrounding environment. Recreational activities, including fitness centres, sports facilities, and cultural events, are available.

The university provides many events, activities and clubs for students.
Tips: The education and fee structure is reasonable. The transportation system is a little slow but it's cheap. There is no pollution and everything works in a systematic way. The people are strict about their rules and regulations, which is a good thing. I am very satisfied with my university.
Likes (Student Life): My day at university starts at 8:00 AM and ends in the afternoon. There are many different types of clubs, including sports, fashion shows, and dance clubs. We have our own swimming pool and can swim. We can also organize football matches with other universities and participate in other sports activities, including the National Olympiad.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I like vegetarian food, but it is difficult to find vegetables here. You can get them, but they are expensive. Frozen vegetables are an option, but then there is the cost of electricity to keep them frozen. Day-to-day items like oil and salt are reasonably priced.

Embracing change - navigating culture shift in college.
Tips: Transitioning to college, especially, if it involves moving to a new environment or region can be a significant experience that often comes with various cultural shifts. The first one is independence and responsibility and the second is the deserving perspectives. In our department techniques methodology is distributed by its emphasis on experiential learning and interdisciplinary. This approach encourages students to engage, actively with the material moving beyond the traditional lecture-based instruction. Spending a day in college can be quite dynamic and typically my day starts with attending lectures or classes where I engage with professors and classmates on various subjects. I enjoy the interactive discussions on the understanding of the material. There are often many on-campus activities held on campus. You should participate and try to build dome connections. The weather here is harsh so make sure you prepare yourself. Overall, it has been a wonderful experience here.

Very pleasant, calm and friendly campus environment.
Tips: The professors were friendly and lovable. There were plenty of part-time jobs available, and the classes were not hectic, so we could study without stress. The anatomy subject was great, and we got to learn from these courses. Overall, I am content with my experience.
Likes (Public transportation): The medical faculty deans are super friendly, and the campus is very near the hostel. The transportation facilities are good, and you can walk, take a tram, or take a bus. In the summer, you can walk to the campus, which is only about a kilometre away.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are no Indian restaurants here, and there are very few Indian students. However, Russian people love Indian food. If you are fond of Korean food, there are plenty of places to eat.

Navigating college life: Insights on academics, culture, and community.
Tips: The coursework can be demanding, so it’s important to be prepared for a challenging academic environment that requires strong time management and study skills. The college has a vibrant and diverse community, so students should be open to engaging with peers from different backgrounds and participating in various extracurricular activities.
Likes (Part time work): The vibrant and inclusive community fosters personal growth and meaningful connections. The college offers a wealth of extracurricular activities, diverse events, and support systems that enhance the overall experience. The sense of belonging and the opportunities to engage with peers from various backgrounds create a dynamic and enriching environment.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty members are not only knowledgeable in their fields but also passionate about teaching and mentoring students. Their approachability and willingness to engage with students outside of class contribute significantly to a positive academic experience.

Very good university and well educated professors.
Tips: The college has a well-developed medical programme. Clinical rotation allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world setting. The professors are well-educated and very knowledgeable. They provided me with a comprehensive education. The collaborative environment in medical colleges promotes teamwork and communication, which are essential for effective healthcare delivery. Students often engage in group projects, which help them develop these skills. Also, there are numerous seminars and events held on campus so I suggest students to participate in them and gain extra knowledge and build dome connections.

It is difficult to manage part-time and studies.
Tips: First of all the student should pass the NEET exam which is held in India. After passing you can directly contact the University through their site, mrsu.ru, and then apply and wait for a response. Alternatively, you could go through a study abroad agent, who will take care of everything. But beware of fraudsters out there. In India Indian medical graduates and foreign graduates have the same opportunities as doctors but foreign medical graduates have to first pass the FMG exam to be eligible to practice. I am having a hard time finding time to study with my hectic schedule and it is hard to balance a job and attending all the events I had hoped to attend. The language barrier has made this experience challenging, too and I find it difficult to effectively communicate with my employers. I also have been having a hard time managing the cold weather.

A very good college but no value for money. Fee is expensive.
Tips: I did not feel any sort of transition since I started staying in this city. I didn't have any scholarship. I came directly through a consultancy which was not official here before coming through the parental consultancy of the university. After reaching here, you will be taken care of by the coordinators of the hostel and will be provided with every facility.
Likes (Safety): The city is very safe. Not only the city, the hostel itself has very good security. No one except for students are allowed inside the hostels. Even outside the city is very safe. It is a good city to explore for one time. Once, I had lost my phone somewhere but I found it quickly because of the high security over here.
Dislikes (Value for money): The fee is not justified for this university. At the same fees you may get very good universities in different parts of Russia. So I don't recommend this university. Prefer choosing other universities having more experienced professors and that have better infrastructure.

The college is good but it is not value for money.
Tips: The college is good but it is not worth the money. There are better options at the same price. The college is strict and requires hard study to pass the exams. You'll have seminars every week. If you want to join this university, go with New Era Consultancy. They provide admission at the best price. NEET and 50% in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics are mandatory. There are no metro or subways in Saransk, but there are various types of buses, including minibuses, trolley buses, and electric buses. Bus fares are very reasonable at 30 rubles, and you can travel to any destination for the same fare.
Dislikes (Part time work): There is no scope for part-time work while studying at this university. Most students stay on campus and are only able to work during vacation time. However, if you do not travel to your home country during vacation, you may be able to find part-time work.

Bundle up for winters and buckle down for exams.
Tips: If you are willing to come to this university, you better prepare for the winter. Winters are really bad in Russia, and the temperature in the city can go below -20/25 degrees Celsius. Also, if you are a vegetarian, you better learn to cook. There are not many sources of vegetarian food available, and even in the winter, you will not find a variety of vegetables. As for academics, I don't know about the other courses, but in medical school, some teachers and facilities are really good. You also need to prepare for the semester exams.
Likes (Safety): The people in the city are good, and I haven't heard of any major incidents involving students. The main building at the university has a security check, and we have to use a tapping card to enter most buildings on campus.
Dislikes (Part time work): I was on a student visa, so I was not able to work part-time while I was studying. However, I did see some students from other countries working part-time at clubs and restaurants. I have never done any kind of part-time job throughout my academic year.
