USMU History
The Ural State Medical University was founded in 1930, thanks to a special resolution of issued by the Council of People’s Commissars of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic in 1930.
The institute welcomed a cohort of about 100 students after the opening of its first medical & preventive faculty.
Peter Spiridonovich Kataev took over as the first director of the institute.
