Master of Science in Computer Science - Batch of 2025
3.8
Nature centric and research-oriented.
Tips: The coursework is really great. The professors are friendly and helpful. You might get attracted to assistantship programs but their policies keep on changing so it is not guaranteed you will get one. Utah's weather can be extreme during winters and it is very silent here after 7 or 8 PM. Utah is a safe place compared to other states. We have campus police patrolling on campus, and there is also an option to book a safe ride, which will drop you from your building to the nearest public bus or train station. I myself work till 11 PM a lot of days on campus and it's very safe. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Indian Food): We just have one small counter of an Indian restaurant on the entire campus compared to other universities who have a variety of food options. Other cuisine options are also limited, all outlets are in one single building, so if you need lunch at Engineering building, you will need to walk all the way up to the Union building.

Master of Science in Information Systems - Batch of 2024
4.5
Huge safe campus, helpful people and many part-time opportunities.
Tips: This Master of Science in Information Systems course is very easy. It's not difficult, and the subjects don't go into much depth. They just touch base on them. Each subject is taught in one class for 10 weeks. This is a good course if you just want to update your current skills. Great faculty. They are very helpful and knowledgeable, they help you with projects and assistant opportunities, you can seek their guidance if you want to do research, they have many years of experience in teaching and research, and you get varied options to choose from. It is difficult to get a green card for Indians because of the long wait time. You cannot get citizenship. Visa sponsorship is another problem. Companies won't sponsor your H1B. There is no way to immigrate permanently unless you invest a huge amount of money.

Master of Public Policy/Master of Public Health (MPP/MPH) - Batch of 2026
4.1
Energetic and vibrant college life.
Tips: I have become very involved in campus activities and networking, which is new for me as I used to be very introverted. The campus here is beautiful, and the resources are fully utilised to ensure a good experience for students. There are also mental health services for those who might be struggling.
Likes (Student Life): Campus is constantly brimming with activities and the student-formed clubs and organisations are very active. Sports is something that Utah takes a lot of pride in and every time there is a tournament, it brings the whole campus together. In addition, there are new events every semester to look forward to.

It has been a great journey so far.
Tips: The best thing I've noticed in Utah is the welcoming and helpful culture. The student body is diverse and you will experience how connected and united everyone is. Take a campus tour and familiarise yourself with the point of contact, necessary credit for your course and your faculty.

It is a rewarding yet challenging experience.
Tips: As a student of mathematics, studying here has been rigorous yet rewarding. The programs are competitive but that is also designed to bring out the best in you so enjoy the ride while you can. Take advantage of office hours and get to know your professors as they will help you out in time of need.

The university is great with friendly people by your side.
Tips: I have spent a couple of years here and every semester has something new to offer, so I would say my transitioning is constant. Participating in community groups and activities has helped me in finding a sense of belonging and common ground with my peers which is something I would encourage. The city is very well connected as is my campus. There are several applications where you can get access to the bus routes and everything you need is also fairly nearby so I would say public transport has made commuting both easy and reasonable as well.

It has been an incredible and interesting experience.
Tips: Studying here for me has been a unique experience with both ups and downs. Because of the size of the campus and the academic curriculum, I initially was very overwhelmed which is why you should constantly be in touch with your academic assistants and keep a check of your academic credit. The college is welcoming and the faculty are helpful and supportive. Public transportation is affordable, accessible and convenient. Overall, I am satisfied with the college, course and the country.

The university provides very helpful and friendly atmosphere.
Tips: My time here has been quite positive and satisfactory. The faculty is very knowledgeable and dedicated and learning becomes enjoyable under them. Moreover, the tutoring and writing centres offer academic support whenever needed and you can always reach out for assistance. There are events, student club activities and seminars available so do participate in them and build connections. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience.

The university is great but very limited opportunities to explore.
Tips: My experience at the University of Utah has been beyond my expectations as the campus is beautiful, the people are very friendly, and I have learned a lot throughout. There are so many things to do beyond the classrooms so make it a point to explore the outdoors, especially the natural beauty and the activities near campus.

University of Utah - Great place for academics
Tips: Be ready to grind. There's a lot to do in terms of academics. Be curious and talk to the professors. Maintain good contact with them, they are great advisors and can recommend you even in the job market. There is less diversity in the university though but the people here are friendly and well-spoken. You will take some time to get adjusted to the food here because it's quite different. Cooking at home is an ideal option. Being a vegetarian, there are very few vegetarian food options here.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty here are highly skilled and extremely intelligent. They are working on amazing projects and it's the best place if you genuinely want to learn, publish papers and work on research projects. You can also work under professors here as a research assistant and get paid!
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are very less Indian restaurants and the food doesn't taste good. There are very less vegetarian options in food, you will take time to get adjusted to the type of food here. It's ideal to cook at home. Indian food is best made at home than at restaurants here. Italian food places are great here.

A supportive and rigorous academic experience at Missouri S&T.
Tips: Before joining Missouri S&T, it's essential to be prepared for a challenging but rewarding academic environment with a strong emphasis on research and practical applications, especially in STEM fields. I experienced a significant cultural shift upon arrival, adjusting to both academic rigour and a diverse community with collaborative opportunities. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with my choice of university and the course, as the academic resources and faculty support have been excellent.

One of the best core department college.
Tips: Missouri S&T has limited part-time opportunities, and its tuition fees are higher compared to other schools. However, it is very popular in core departments like civil engineering, mechanical engineering, mining engineering etc. Offers strong hands-on practice with good faculty. The faculty is very approachable, and friendly and will help you in any situation. Overall, I am pretty satisfied with the course, college and the country.

Costly but friendly and supportive college environment.
Tips: Students should know that there is a scholarship but the scholarship amount didn't cover much of my expenses. The university is good, but not great, and the tuition is expensive. Fortunately, there are multiple on-campus part-time jobs that can help offset your monthly expenses. If you can get a job that allows you to work from home, that would be even better.
Likes (Safety): It is very safe in Roll. We don't need to worry about our safety. The college has university police who are available 24/7. They patrol all the areas, and there is no worry of getting afraid of some cultures. I have never seen them in my two years of stay.
Dislikes (Public transportation): There is no public transport at all. We need to get rides from our friends or seniors who have cars. It's like locally, they give you free rides, and if you are going out of town, you need to pay around 70 Dollars to go to the airport. Because the nearest airport is 110 smiles from Roll.

Decent and peaceful college environment.
Tips: I did not experience any cultural shift while studying at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. I received an international provost's scholarship, which helped to offset my expenses. I am satisfied with the university, especially the coursework. In addition, I was able to earn some extra money by working as a student teaching assistant. All kinds of events are organized by the university irrespective of nation. There are organizations for every nation they do celebrate everything. Roll is the safest city without any violence and gun culture. I have never been into any student clubs or communities which are not that great and interesting for me.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Rolla is a small city, so there aren't any Indian restaurants. There is one Indian grocery store, but it has a limited selection, so you have to travel all the way to St. Louis to get what you need. There are a lot of American fast food restaurants, and you can get basic vegetables at Walmart.

Missouri University of Science and Technology is good but can be better.
Tips: It can be tough to enrol on your preferred courses due to high demand or availability, which can be frustrating sometimes so it's smart to have alternatives. There will be student activities about which you'll be notified through email, just keep an eye out for them. I got a scholarship but I'm not sure if they're still offering as much or anything at all. Finding a part-time depends on the competition. Your chances are the best if you're one of the early applicants. Part-time positions fill out quickly. Roll is a peaceful city. You can hang out at the library if it gets boring. The low cost of living is definitely a plus.
Likes (Safety): The city is quite safe. You won't see a lot of people around except for department stores etc. You can walk to places without worrying about your safety. Most of the people are friendly and willing to help. Since most of the students live with their friends, I'm sure there's nothing to worry about.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Public transportation is not available. Students usually carpool or get rides from other students for some amount. I am not sure about Uber's availability 24/7. But I did take it a couple of times and didn't face any problems or you could get a friend who has a car and share the expenses for it.

Your skills and talent matters a lot to get the job.
Tips: Students should know that the branch details are very important. If your branch is good, it can be helpful in getting a good professor. Also, based on your performance, you can become a TA or RA, which will reduce your college fees and provide a monthly stipend.
Likes (Part time work): On campus, part-time times are very good. You can easily get them for living expenses. For daily expenses, you can earn correctly and you can get time to get good knowledge and change to learn the subjects, and as the cost of living is too low compared to other states, coming to location wise, it is a little boring area so you won't get all the facilities here.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Due to the lack of public transport and shuttle services, connecting to other area locations is difficult as students face significant challenges with transportation. Students are given rides, and there is a lot of availability for student rides. It is a little easier to manage transportation, but if you have a car, it is a good location for expenditures.
