Faculty is of high quality, with experience from top global universities and significant industry.
Tips: One thing to keep in mind is that the weather isn't great here, especially in the winter. The dorms in DTU are expensive, but they are a great way to make good friends with Europeans. I did not get any scholarships; they are very rare, and you need to have a 9+ CGPA and a good personal statement, clearly stating your story and the hardships you faced while getting and staying motivated in your subject of interest. Overall, I am very satisfied with DTU, my course, and Denmark as a country.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is of high quality, with experience from top global universities and/or significant industry backgrounds. They are friendly, professional, and embody the Danish culture of being relaxed yet highly effective.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Finding Indian food in restaurants is expensive, and authentic options are rare. Special ingredients can only be found in Asian markets/bazaars. Indian food in restaurants costs around 40 euros for two people. Food in the DTU canteen costs 5 to 12 euros, depending on the choice. I preferred to cook for myself and only bought food once or twice a month.

Highlights

  • Materials and manufacturing engineering is highly interdisciplinary and focuses on the application of materials as well as process and production technologies in high-tech products within various fields, including energy production, the automotive and aeronautical industries, medical devices, and communication.
  • The key to develop and optimize products with improved functionality and extended lifetime is the interplay between: the internal structure of materials
process technologies for manufacturing and post-processing of a high-tech product
    product properties
product performance under its operating conditions
  • The programme enables students to predict, control, and optimize material properties and to analyse and optimize the industrial process technologies, which are relevant for advanced products at both micro and macro scale.
  • The MSc programme is very application-oriented, and the teaching is highly research-based and relevant to industry
  • Project work is generally inspired by or carried out in collaboration with industry, and you will therefore be working with relevant, real cases throughout the entire study programme.
