Note: CELPIP is primarily used for candidates looking for permanent residency, citizenship, and professional designation. The CELPIP exam has been replaced by CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) Test, which measures the English language proficiency of students planning to study in Canada.

CELPIP: The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) is an English language exam given by candidates to prove English language proficiency. This test is accepted by the government of Canada for immigration purposes. Apart from this, the English language proficiency test is also accepted by numerous colleges, universities, and other educational institutions in Canada. The test is conducted by Paragon Testing Enterprises, a subsidiary of the University of British Columbia (UBC). There are two versions of the CELPIP exam CELPIP-General and CELPIP-General LS.

CELPIP Exam

CELPIP General Test

The CELPIP General test is accepted by IRCC, Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council, and the Real Estate Council of British Columbia. In CELPIP General Test, the candidate is monitored on his/her Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking skills.

The CELPIP-General Test is a popular exam taken by those who want to prove English language proficiency while applying for permanent resident status in Canada under the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Start-up Visa Program, Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and numerous Provincial Nominee Programs. This test is also suitable for those looking for employment. CELPIP-General Test is approved by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
