Master of Science (Technology) in International Design Business Management 

at Aalto University, Espoo

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• The applicants are expected to have a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in some field of engineering or natural sciences and at least 15 ECTS of business and/or innovation studies.
• Concerning business studies, the application should clearly demonstrate basic knowledge of, for example, management science, strategic management, operations management, financial management, and organizational behavior and/or innovation management.
• Other Bachelor’s degrees may be suitable only if the content of these studies, together with relevant university-level non-degree studies meet the criteria below. The application documents should unambigously show sufficient amount of studies similar to typical Bachelor's level engineering studies:
  • University-level engineering mathematics at least 25 ECTS
  • University-level computer science and programming at least 10 ECTS
  • University-level physics or chemistry at least 10 ECTS or additional 10 ECTS in computer science or data analytics
  • Minor or equivalent orientation in a field of engineering that differs from industrial engineering and management 25 ECTS
• The cumulative grade point average is calculated from the bachelor’s degree (or the degree giving the eligibility). Applicant’s grades from other completed studies of which the applicant has provided the appropriate documents by the end of the application period will also be evaluated.

  • Applicant’s professional experience is looked at broadly. Special emphasis is put on work experience relevant to the IDBM programme as well as experience in scientific and artistic work, entrepreneurship and/or other relevant civic activity. 
• Applicant’s further applicability to the study option, motivation, and commitment for studies/communication skills.
