The university was most centric around a research-based institute.
Tips: This is a public University. There is no tuition fee; there is a semester fee associated, which helps you get a semester ticket including a transportation pass within the university locality. There are a lot of cultural shifts in terms of education and socialising. Most importantly, network building will help you land a good job. I am very much satisfied with the course that I took. Also, the university was the one that I shortlisted in the past after thorough research. Also, Germany as a country is a very safe place, and education is one of the most prestigious things in this country, and also economically it is the top in Europe, which can help you get good job prospects.
Likes (Student Life): I spend my day at University by attending lectures and practical classes. I enjoy attending classes with my friends and preparing for exams. Cooking food at home with friends after college. Discussing complex topics that were not understood. This really helps make us connected together and was definitely the best part of student life abroad. There are various job fair events conducted on campus, usually called "Job Mess" around October when the winter semester starts. I often participate by attending the campus after lectures and manage my time accordingly. I was usually part of the "SI@finance" campus club. It helps international students guide them through their journey in student life, about the study structure, and how to take up subjects each semester.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There is an Indian restaurant located a few kilometres away from the University. It is accessible by tram. However, there are many food eateries just opposite the university campus. I usually prefer buying groceries and cooking at home by myself, as it requires little skill to cook at home, where you set out. Also, it brings a sense of independence to manage food on one's own, which each individual refers to.

Bachelor of Science in Computer science - Batch of 2026
3.5
An eye-opening experience.
Tips: Try to focus on making connections in the university. The university itself is more research oriented, and the faculty are good. The courses are well structured and can sometimes be challenging with the amount of weekly assignments. It is definitely not easy to get a full time role after graduation, as you have to make sure that you develop industry relevant skills on your own.
Likes (Public transportation): Tram and bus options are really good. For a small city, the connectivity is really good, and you don't have to worry about walking for long. I would recommend getting a second hand cycle as there are situations when the transport company workers go on strike.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The university doesn't really offer many full-time jobs, as it doesn't have many collaborations with companies. Students are able to get HiWi jobs in the university itself, but the city also offers very less opportunities for working student jobs.

3.8
A comfortable learning environment with handful opportunities and friendly faculty.
Tips: There was a cultural shift regarding the teaching methodology and opportunities for learning. And haven't experienced much in the initial years because of COVID. But the University helped us a lot with easing rules and regulations. Haven't used any scholarship. I'm very satisfied with the university, but the course was okay as it was very long.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty were always available via email to book an appointment. And open to ideas about projects. The course had a lot of lab work, which was mandatory, which helped in getting the practical idea of the course and subjects. There are professors from multiple countries, as far as I remember. But not more than 50%.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are not a great number of Indian restaurants, and the ones that are were a bit expensive. I used to cook by myself. We can get all the Indian ingredients to cook, and everything is available. Due to a lack of options, I preferred to cook.

Master of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies - Batch of 2026

A well-rounded political science and humanities studies educational experience.
Tips: I've experienced different cultures from different parts of the world, and it has refined my perspective on international study endeavours. I did not apply for a scholarship. But the program is open to DAAD. I am satisfied with my study experience as it broadened my previously narrow perspective and positioned me to better research an international conflict with nuanced perspectives and a much-needed gravitas. It has given me tremendous opportunities to discuss openly about my field of study as a common interest, but also as a possibly applicable skill professionally.

Helpful faculty and management.
Tips: Guidance of a mentor is required, as I know someone from my German language classes, and I took support from him to navigate the challenges that anyone can face. Every day, I used to call him and ask him what was necessary and what was not. Asking questions is crucial to surviving in Germany. I am very satisfied with my university, course and country. There is a little problem with the German language; if you ace it, then all will be fine.
