History
The university came into existence in 1993, after a merger between the Madgeburg Technical University, Teacher Training College, and the Academy of Medicine. In 1995, the university began offering a lecture series given by some of the best scientists in the world to the general public. The year 1996 saw the university start the first-ever German program in Computational Visualistics. The university was also the first site where candied coffee beans were roasted in a fluidized bed.
In 2011, the university began offering scholarships to its students, and in 2013 opened its main research campus named STIMULATE, which is the main hub of all technological advancements at the university.
