The University of Saarland has some preliminary requirements that need to be fulfilled to secure a seat at the university, some of which include: 

  • Transcripts of high school completion (original and officially certified translation in German/English/French) 
  • Academic records 
  • Certificate of competition of Feststellungsprüfung (higher education assessment test for German Universities in the case of applying via a Studienkolleg pathway) 
  • Proof of recognition of the applicant’s higher education entrance qualification being equivalent to a German higher education entrance qualification by the relevant authority 
  • Proof of German language proficiency (DSH-2 or DSH-3, PNDS, TestDaF - grade of TDN 4 or TDN 5 in all parts of examination, Goethe-Zertifikat C2: GDS or KDS or ZOP, KMK Deutsches Sprachdiplom Stufe II) 
  • Copy of passport 
  • Letter of admission
