Good and worth it, give good exposure to the industry level experience by projects
Tips: Before joining this university, students should know that they need to be independent and proactive. The university provides support, but the students should take the responsibility for their studies, assignments, job search, and networking. It is also useful to learn German back in India.
Likes (Safety): I rated 5 for safety because Heidelberg feels very safe and peaceful for students. I feel comfortable traveling within the city, even in the evening, and the public transport is usually well connected and active. Apart from campus security. Students also benefit from safe public transport, well-lit streets in most areas, emergency services and a California student-friendly environment.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I rated it 3 because post-job study opportunities are not good; they can be quite competitive and sometimes not possible, especially for international graduates. I believe there are decent chances, but with strong German language skills, which some consultancies hide for their profit, networking can make a big difference.

A practical and international learning experience at SRH University Heidelberg
Tips: You should definitely research your course structure, housing options, and living costs well in advance. Also, learning German up to at least a B1 level makes daily life way easier. My transition was pretty smooth overall. The biggest culture shocks were how much everyone values punctuality, independence, and super direct communication, but I managed to adapt within a few months. I didn't get any scholarships, but I worked a part-time job to help cover my day-to-day expenses. Overall, I’m really happy with SRH Heidelberg, especially the international vibe and the hands-on, practical learning approach.
Likes (Safety): I gave safety a 5-star rating because honestly, I’ve always felt completely safe both on and off campus. The city is super well-organized, and I've never felt uneasy using public transport or walking around public spaces, even late at night. The streets are really well-lit, the transit is reliable, and having solid student support services around makes a huge difference. My whole experience here has been really positive and people are generally helpful and respectful. The only real hurdle at the start was just getting used to the language barrier and the cultural differences, but that's about it.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I gave a 3-star rating for food options from back home mostly because even though you can find a few Indian restaurants and grocery stores around, the variety is pretty limited compared to what you get in India. You can find authentic regional food if you look for it, but it gets incredibly expensive. Around my area, fast food joints usually cost anywhere from 8 to 15 euros a meal, while casual spots like Indian, Asian, Turkish, or German restaurants run about 12 to 30 euros. Fine dining is easily 30 euros or more per person. Because of that, I mostly just stick to cooking for myself. It’s way cheaper and honestly just makes it easier to eat exactly what I want and keep up with my diet preferences anyway.

A smooth transition and manageable course structure, but come prepared to job hunt independently.
Tips: 1. The transition was not that difficult; in fact, I would say it was easy for me, taking into account the fact that SRH University has a CORE principle where we learn a module, give an exam, and move on to the next one every 5 weeks. So we don't have all exams at semester end and have to focus on one module at a time. 2. No, I did not avail myself of any scholarship, but there are a few scholarships available for which the students are informed from time to time via email. 3. I am satisfied with the course, university, and choice of country. I do not SEE any reasonable issue as such. Although learning the German language will be a plus (a minimum). B1 level would be my recommendation) since it helps in getting jobs later on.
Likes (Indian Food): Eating out around Heidelberg is actually pretty easy since there are a bunch of solid Indian and Asian spots scattered around the city, especially if you head closer to the center or Bismarckplatz. A typical meal out will probably run you anywhere from 20 to 30 euros a person, so it's more of a weekend treat on a student budget. For daily life, cooking your own food is definitely the way to go, and honestly, you won't struggle to find Indian groceries. There are a few local Asian and Afro-Indian shops right in the city where you can easily grab all your essential masalas, specific lentils, and random ingredients without a hassle.
Dislikes (Internships): When it comes to landing internships or working student gigs, SRH Hochschule Heidelberg doesn’t really provide any hands-on placement assistance. You're pretty much on your own with the job hunt. That said, the professors are usually happy to look over your resume, give you some general advice, or even write a reference letter if you're pulling in top grades in their classes. But yeah, don't expect the university to hand you a job or run an active placement cell—any official, structured help from their side is basically nonexistent.

Learn German before joining.
Tips: Please go through the website once and see if the course really excites you and offers what you are looking for. Always apply for a scholarship and request the necessary details from the student committee. I won't really recommend anyone to come to a private university and study management here because it does not give value for the money invested.
Likes (Internships): Universities don't help you in finding internships; you really need to work hard to find one, as in some courses it is compulsory to do an internship. In my field, if you know German, you can easily find an internship but with no knowledge of German, it would be difficult.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There's nothing like sponsor visas in Germany and it completely depends on what your degree is for the chances of you getting a job. But the foremost thing I would recommend to everybody before coming to Germany is to learn German. It has been really difficult these days to find a job without knowing German and it doesn't matter which field you belong to. Also the salary packages vary a lot depending on the professions you are aiming for.

Good learning experience in Germany with practical exposure and friendly atmosphere.
Tips: There isn't much of a cultural shift. We find a lot of Indians in our university. Transition is about academically, the course is structured in a way that you are industry ready. I didn't get any scholarship. I don't have much idea about it, people can check on the Daad website and also try their luck in college. I like Germany and people are very nice and welcoming here. I would also recommend that those planning to come here to learn German at least to a basic level before moving. The course and university are good but I personally feel the course structure could be updated and be more market oriented with better elective options that align with the current industry demands.
Likes (Public transportation): There are trams, buses and trains. Public transportation is excellent in Heidelberg, most connections run every 10 minutes during the day and 30 minutes at night till late at night. The Deutschland ticket is available which is valid all over Germany. Almost all modes of transport are accessible with it at a very affordable price, there are student offers for the same.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The university doesn't help with finding jobs, they just give few instructions and a resume template. Students have to find jobs, internships or part time on their own. Like in India, there is no concept of placements here. There are a lot of companies that offer sponsorship for a visa. It won't be a problem. The average package can be expected from 45,000 to 50,000 euros.
