The USIEF or United States India Educational Foundation, which was previously known as the United States Educational Foundation in India, is an international foundation meant to help students understand higher education in India and US. Its primary focus is on administering Fulbright Program to Indian and American students and professionals, advising Indian students about higher education opportunities in US, encouraging engagement of Fulbright scholars and connecting higher education institutions in the US and India. In addition to administering this, the Foundation also provides Fulbright grants, like New Century Scholars Program, the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowships, International Fulbright Science and Technology Award, Teacher Exchange Program, and the Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program.

USIEF major activities

  • Providing Fulbright-Nehru and other various Fulbright Fellowships for Indian and American students, professionals and faculty.
  • Promoting dialogue among Fulbright students and their communities as an extension of educational exchange.
  • Advising Indian students interested in pursuing higher education in US, and for US students interested in studying in India as well.
  • To serve as a resource for fostering relations between higher education institutions in the US and India through the office of US, which is the India Higher Education Cooperation (USIHEC)

EducationUSA Advising Services (EAS) is USIEF's project which provides accurate and comprehensive information to students who are interested in pursuing higher education in US. They also provide information on scholarships in the US. EAS does not rank any colleges or universities, but they guide students in their pursuit of US degree. They also organize education fairs, seminars and workshops on application procedures, and pre-departure orientation programs. USIEF advising centers are located at cities like New DelhiChennai, HyderabadKolkata, and Mumbai.
