Annapurna shares her experience of getting admission in the MBA program with a scholarship.

Please share your profile and university admits

I got selection in the MBA Program at Pittsburg State University, Kansas, United States of America. I applied to Pittsburg and the University of Tampa, Florida and got admits from both of them. I selected Pittsburg because it’s a public university which offered the major I was looking for. They also offered me a scholarship of $1000. I scored 550 in GMAT and 8 in IELTS examinations.

Share your journey while applying abroad

Plan to study abroad was always there, but one always needs a clear cut vision to execute it. In 2017, I quit my job and was back home that was when I actively started preparing for studying abroad. I started with a wrong foot, I went to a consultancy because they were the only one in my city. I enrolled with them and it came out as a disaster. Then a friend of mine suggested Shiksha to me and I made the call and everything just fell into place.

How was your experience with Shiksha?

If I didn’t find Shiksha, I would have just gotten married. I am being really honest here. I was so fed up with everything. I appreciate that everything was very systematic at Shiksha. They gave me a list of colleges, all of those were very good. I had no confusion regarding the application process as my counselor, Anamika was available all the time. Sometimes I bug her with back to back texts but she always remained patient and very understanding. She sought all my queries and I am grateful for that.

What difference Shiksha created wherein you couldn’t fill on your own?

I could have applied to colleges on my own but then I am sure, I couldn’t have got the same results. I don’t know which universities to apply? There are so many factors you need to consider while applying i.e. place, spending capacity, and cost of living in a particular state. The list of colleges shared with me was based on all my requirements. I got my subject major in the price range I was willing to spend. I was happy with the selection of colleges. Also, Shiksha team helped me with the application process by editing my SOP and they also helped me in updating my CV as well. I am happy with the whole process.

Do you had any doubts about Shiksha before experiencing their services?

When I enrolled with earlier consultancy, I spend close to INR 30,000 but when I found that Shiksha is providing these services for free, I was also in doubt. But as I have nothing to lose, I decided to give it a shot and I am really happy that I end up hitting a jackpot.

How much do you rate Shiksha on a scale of 10?

I would have given 11 if possible, but let’s be reasonable and put 10.

Annapurna is now going to pursue MBA program at Pittsburg State University. Studyabroad.shiksha.com wishes her for all her future endeavors.
