The country is quite safe and there are on campus part-time opportunities.
Tips: It is a bit difficult to adjust at the start, but we get used to the culture, weather and social norms. People here are very friendly and helpful. I have received a scholarship on a merit basis offered by the University. I am satisfied with the course structure, university facilities, the multicultural environment and overall quality of life in Ireland.
Likes (Safety): The university is quite safe with emergency services, well-lit areas and 24/7 CCTV surveillance. Galway is generally safe even after dark. Pretty thefts and scams are rare and can be avoided with caution. I often travel late from the city to my residence and have never encountered any such incidents.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are various part-time jobs available on campus, particularly in cafes and student union shops. However, there are off-campus opportunities also particularly in retail, hospitality etc. Part-time can be managed with academics if planned well. Students are allowed to work 20 hours per week and the average payout is 12.75 euros.
