Global learning experience at UCD.
Tips: Students should know and get prepared for the independent life cycle, cultural shift and much more, be open and you will adapt. Just give some time to Dublin. I got a full scholarship as my marks were above 95 in 12th grade. I am completely satisfied with UCD and I also have a full-time job now.
Likes (Value for money): Student life is vibrant and balanced. A normal day is lectures, practicals, events and food, spending time with friends; you get to meet students from all over the world. There are countless activities and sports on campus. Something for everyone so be open to everything.
Dislikes (Part time work): The faculty at UCD is highly approachable and supportive, professors are always open to questions and always challenge us to think out of the box, we have faculty from almost all the nation, the teaching way is a very practical approach. Assignments are also pretty smooth.

Great practical experience provided during the programme.
Tips: STEM courses are pretty demanding in terms of self study. Please don’t expect really high grades unless you put in high number of hours outside of recommended time. Sports facilities are among the best that you can experience and try on. Food is expensive and not worth buying so self cooking is highly recommended if you would like to save some money. Plenty of post study opportunities are available both on-campus and off-campus.
Likes (Safety): Dublin in general is pretty safe. Although it’s recommended not to travel to certain places during late hours. Certain areas such as North and West are not recommended during night time. If you have any problem you can report it to nearby Police station, however for petty crimes Garda won’t take any action.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Food options are alright. Just don’t expect to have an authentic food experience. Self cooking is highly recommended if you would like to maintain your health or if you’re a vegetarian. Eating out can get really expensive as a meal for two can cost around €40 on average.

Campus accommodation is very expensive.
Tips: It can get stressful, not much scholarship. Lots of academic aids, plan transport and accommodation early. Campus accommodation is expensive and not worth the money. UCD is a good intellectual challenge and make sure you check that your course is accredited before enrolling.
Likes (Safety): UCD has a policy for respect, dignity and values it quite much and an anti-bullying policy. There is a whole module that is asked for you to do during the orientation on this topic. They are very strict about respecting people's boundaries. The concept of consent, etc.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): They can be a bit unresponsive, often they refer you to department after department without helping you. Some faculty are understanding, while others don't really care. They would be busy with their own research. The notes can be bad and the exam structure can be difficult. This isn't the same for everyone; there are some amazing faculty members, but getting them depends on your luck.
