History
In the year 1949, Keele University was founded as the University College of North Staffordshire. It received its Charter as the University of Keele in 1962. By the year 1969, Keele University was being described as “the most original innovation British university education in the 20th century. Keele continues to adapt, thrive, and evolve in 21st century. In 2007, the university’s own medical school was opened. In 2009, the university was awarded a Queen’s University Prize for Higher and Further Education. Then, in 2020, Harper and Keele Veterinary School opened, as a joint venture with Harper Adams University.
