Prepare the necessary documents for your application: To fill out the application for a university abroad, you will need to upload some documents. Hence, it is wise to gather these documents beforehand to avoid any last-minute delays. Typically, you will need to gather the following documents: proof of identity (passport, with at least 1 blank page), academic transcript, bonafide certificate (if required), NOC (if required), gap certificate (if applicable), standardised English test score, subject test score (if required), an updated CV, letter of recommendation and an SOP. Note - in case you have a diploma, you will need to obtain recognition from the Luxembourg Ministry of Education for it. This process can take at least six weeks, so initiate it well in advance.

The cost of accommodation is the major expense in the country, with the cost of private accommodations ranging from €1,500 to €1,800 per month, depending on the city and the number of rooms you opt for in your apartment. On the other hand, living in university dorms can be way more affordable, costing somewhere around €450 per month. You just need to deposit 2 months' rent as security while booking. Luxembourg Student Visa
Students need a Luxembourg study visa to come to stay and study in Luxembourg for the course of their studies. To be eligible to apply for a student visa in Luxembourg, one must have an acceptance letter from their host institution or they must participate in a student exchange program.
Indian students need to obtain a temporary authorisation to stay in Luxembourg (or a temporary residence permit) by submitting the acceptance letter from their university, a completely filled visa application form, a valid passport, a recent criminal record, proof of financial means, health insurance, and accommodation details before leaving India. Since the visa application processing time may vary for a person, it is recommended that you apply early, as soon as you receive a confirmation from your university, so that even if your result is delayed, you won't miss out on your college joining date. Note that students can stay on a residence permit in Luxembourg for up to 360 days. If your program of study exceeds this duration and you need a permit to stay longer in Luxembourg, then you must submit an application for an "authorisation to stay in Luxembourg for the purposes of study".
After receiving the temporary authorisation, students must apply for a long-stay visa (Visa D) at the Luxembourg Embassy in New Delhi, providing a completed application form, two passport-sized photos, a valid passport (with at least three months' validity), proof of accommodation, travel medical insurance (minimum coverage of €30,000), and the temporary authorisation. The temporary residence visa application fee is €50.
Upon arrival, students must register at the local commune within three days, undergo a medical examination (including a tuberculosis test), and apply for a long-stay residence permit within 90 days at the Immigration Directorate. Required documents include a valid passport, proof of accommodation, financial statements, health insurance, and a medical certificate from a licensed doctor in Luxembourg. The long-stay residence permit fee is €80.
